Hello. The AZDOME M550 dashcam is terrible for parking mode, the wire kit is installed in the fuse box and the motion recording option works, but I did several tests on the G sensor (for accidents) and the dashcam has some serious flaws. It doesn't change or save the crash and there is no warning letting us know that there is an incident when you return to the car and start it! If the vehicle owner is not attentive, the accident will go unnoticed. You will have to watch all the movement recordings for days in a row to try to find out if the AZDOME M550 recorded anything! When the car is moving, the recording works, the dashcam has a serious failure to record/change, as indicated in the manual, the recordings are due to knocks if the car is parked. 😮
I believe it's just missing an audible alert or something on the dashcam screen constantly until it is displayed alerting that we have a parking recording. Because if there is a day when you don't have time to take a walk around the car. The event goes unnoticed.
10/10 Review, top job mate.. Just one thing though and I say this from experience, all is fantastic when NEW out of box... It's GREAT isn't it, wonderful. I ask anyone out there that is using this cam, to re up load in 12 months time and tell us if the cam still works fine. Feel free to check my reviews, you'll understand what I mean. Again, great review mate, I'll look into this cam. :)
Base on your description link for upgraded store of 128GB, does it possible to put storage up to 256GB? Because the price deference is only a bit closer.
Good question. Here’s what AZDome has to say on the matter: “AZDOME M550 dash cam will support Class 10, U3 Speed 128 GB micro SD card. Max Support: 128GB (The latest version of the M550 package only has a 64GB SD card as a gift). A few of our customers have used 256GB card, in theory, it supports up to 512GB. However, we don't recommend it, as the larger the memory in the market, it is easier to buy substandard memory cards.”
As part of my gig, I switch cameras often. I will say that of the cams I’ve tested this year, this has been my favorite. And no, AZDome isn’t paying me to say that.
Is there a way to connect the camera and still use Apple car play ? Mi Wi-Fi bounces between the camera and the Apple CarPlay Wi-Fi I’m not sure if I can keep it at both
Is this a good one to buy for a mini cooper? I don’t know much about cars but my bf is a car guy and he doesn’t have a dash cam and I want him to have one for his safety. So should I go ahead and purchase this one?
Ultimately you’re the best judge, but the compact design and great video quality would make this a solid contender for any car, whether it be something smaller like a Mini Cooper or a big truck like an F-150, in my opinion.
You can connect it to your phone, that’s really the only WiFi capabilities it has. It’s useful for playback or making settings changes. You will not be able to set up some sort of automatic backup to cloud storage.
I bought one but it just turns on and off, it turned on once and I honestly just thought it was dead. But I left it charging for an hour and it started to turn off and on again so I’m not sure what I can do to fix that.
They do have an optional power kit that connects via the OBD-II port. That would allow the camera to record events triggered by vibration. But 24/7 recording isn’t possible.
Have you looked through all the settings? Do you have a laptop ? If you've looked through all the settings, and there is nothing to delete individual videos, you may want to plug it into your laptop, take the files you want from it, and then reformat it and either reintroduce the videos or keep them off the cam.
No. You have to be close enough to the camera to connect to its internal WiFi network; and then you can playback recordings. There is no live view. If that’s something you’re looking for, Ring and Owl do that.
I was provided the camera for testing purposes for free. You may also notice that I disclosed that this is a sponsored video. Review was my own and accurate based on my experience.
Thank you for the clarification. The circumstances are unclear as you only say, "the folks at AZDome asked me to review their dashcam" To avoid confusion, you may consider stating: -this was given to me for free to review -I was not paid for this review -"as always, I make it clear to the company that my review is honest and I will not read any scripts or accept suggestions to "give it a good review etc etc etc" As a reviewer, you absolutely know this happens all the time. So for transparency sake, clarifying these things goes a long way! Thanks.
Hello! While searching data about camera I came across an interesting detail in this video: ruclips.net/video/bKc5puhSU0M/видео.html The device accepts up to a 256Gb memory card. Verified also by you. However, on cards larger than 64Gb, the device uses only 64Gb! of space, regardless of the size and equipment of the device. Can you confirm the observation?

Just received the camera today and ended up watching this review. I can say I didn’t make a mistake buying this camera.

Cracking review mate. You may have just made my mind up for my next dash cam. Thank you

Would like a menu option to put the blinking yellow bars to sleep or reduce their blink rate
me too.
So how is the camera working after 1 year for you?

I used your link to order two of the 128 gig cards for both of my M550s!
Thanks for that tip. ;)
That's Nashville! Music City U.S.A.!!! I just ordered one..... Thank You!
Yes sir!
👍👍🙂 thanks
Edit: Nashville is the city😊
So 11 months in to having it. How is it performing still if at all.
is there a gap in recording between each recording? Couple seconds? Seamless?
not sure if you still have used it but any thing on its longevity? im trying to get the best regardless of the price so any options you recommend?
As part of my gig, I switch cameras often. I will say that of the cams I’ve tested this year, this has been my favorite. And no, AZDome isn’t paying me to say that.
Don't waste your time with this dashcam. The menu becomes unresponsive over time, the wifi won't enable
What would you recommend instead? Because this was what I was looking at getting buy the reviews aren't great
@@jackb2164viofo A129, check it out
It’s on Temu for way cheaper
Is that just the one you had it constant with all of the ones sold?
It's made in China, so can't expect it to last anyway.
Almost everything is made in china bro @@johndee68
I just reviewed this same camera. I really liked it. Great review. will sub! thanks
Awesome, thank you!
Do you think this could be mounted on to the centre plastic cover at the top centre of the windscreen ?
Every car is different, so I’m not sure.

There’s not. You’ll need to choose one or the other.
Can you set it to record full time parking mode (till external battery will dry like thinkware)
You can, with an optional wire kit.

@@sleepypanda7867how’s it been so far?
I got one too. Good luck!! Ovi.
DID YOU CHECK THIS ONLINE. MEAN YOU CAN VIEW IT FROM HOME TO CHECK YOUR DRIVER
No.
I’d like to see this brand compare to the blackvue ones since they seem to be a knock off version of the blackvue
It says WiFi capable. Does it have the ability to upload to cloud storage or even directly to my phone?
You can connect it to your phone, that’s really the only WiFi capabilities it has. It’s useful for playback or making settings changes. You will not be able to set up some sort of automatic backup to cloud storage.
Does this record anything if parked ??
Only if you installed with hardwire kit
The car is off the camera is recording or not?
Does the M550 encode videos in H.264 or H.265?
H.264
Do it has motion detection please?
what wattage it supports while operating?
No need to look up the GPS coordinates when I hate driving on I-40 during rush hour traffic in Nashville lol!
The struggle is real, my man.
I bought one but it just turns on and off, it turned on once and I honestly just thought it was dead. But I left it charging for an hour and it started to turn off and on again so I’m not sure what I can do to fix that.
This has to stay plugged in to work.
@@TechWinnerCC so would I need a hardware kit? I have it plugged into my charging port but still nothing
Is it available for 24 hour recording,

Rear Camera video?
In aliexpress it is for 125$
Temu $119
I got it for 95.39$

I got it for $89.00
How you register on the app . I can’t get a verification code

Does it come with an app so i came get the footage??
It does have an app, but it’s clunky. You need to be with the camera to download anything.
@@TechWinnerCC also could i grab a 256gb instead? or stick with the 128gb
@jaybeanoo AZDome’s documentation says max 128gb.
Are u saying the 2k and the 4K is the same quality
I’m saying that some cameras that claim to be 4K are really upscaling 2K video. The quality differences are very hard to see.
@@TechWinnerCC ok cause I want to buy that this this product but in 4K that y u was asking
This is more of a 2k rather than true 4k
Can someone at home remotely view live through wifi your dashcam view?
No. You have to be close enough to the camera to connect to its internal WiFi network; and then you can playback recordings. There is no live view. If that’s something you’re looking for, Ring and Owl do that.
Just got myself one for $114
Nashville
No mention of Wi-Fi
?
Their advertisement said 4k
installing the rear view cam outside the car?? are you crazy?? this one is out
Nashville Tn
Description say it’s With-Fi
It broadcasts a Wi-Fi network that you can connect your phone to and use an app for video playback. It’s clunky IMO, but it works.
Live stream don't work
Have to turn off the auto connect on the wifi setting. Connect it manually each time you open the apps
i dont see what's the purpose of the camera that faces the passengers !!
I think it makes perfect sense if you’re an Uber or Lyft driver.
Proof that you did have on your seatbelt or what everyone was doing inside the car before an accident. It's actually really useful when you need it

For this money its a poor quality of video.
Does it record audio?
Yes. You can toggle that on or off.
Yes I does also has motion detecting when it is parked if you buy the extra kit so you can have power 24 seven to the camera
