To prevent some frequently asked questions and make some stuff clear:
1. Modification works with every GT4 version (including Tourist Trophy game)
2. NOTE FOR AMD GPU USERS: Setting Textures Barriers option to Force-Disabled (Graphics Settings -> Advanced) might improve your performance
3. If the option "Load textures" doesn't make any subfolders/ CRC code folder try "Dump textures" option instead in showroom/ race

@@lucabettarello1821 Had the same problem. Make sure u have a savegame of GT4 on the virtual memorycard. That should create the subfolder.
You should remake this video, because the emulators' menu completely reworked and it became so better. I could not find out how to use the UI scale with this. This works, but the menu does not replace in game with that new nice shiny UI mod.
how did you find the texturedump thing in pcsx2 to put the pack in?
@@ssamhg The texture folder is still in the folder where you installed pcsx2, its just not listed in the options.

One of the details I love about this mod is how some of the adds were replaced, like the Netflix add in New York or the Suicide Squad movie.
The new nightly interface is nothing like this one, I can't figure out how to get anything to work.

Myślisz że trudne by było również podmiana dźwięków aut?
Z dźwiękami jest taki problem że są one w dziwnym formacie którego nie ma jak zbytnio odszyfrować nazwijmy to. Jak na razie można usunąć lub podmienić na istniejące bo jest całkiem sporo nieużywanych ale dodanie swoich nie jest narazie możliwe. Samo portowanie aut z innych regionow, plyt demo itp rowniez jest problematyczne (nie ma dobrych narzedzi zeby edytowac 1 format plikow).
@@arturtreder6651 otóż ja tak samo mały karpik jak wbiłem na ten kanał, a po ostatnich cyrkach w GT7 powracam do GT4, GT5 I GT6 ;) Jednak to były najlepsze z najlepszych w całej serii 🥰 no i tak akurat w porę wleciały te teksturki 😃

doesnt work on newer versions of the pcsx2. it doesnt create the texture folder, and even if i create it myself and put the replacements inside it, and put it as the directory for texture replacement, nothing changes. im sad, please someone, is there a fix? this is my childhood in one game.
Delete the folder you made. Enable Dump Textures first. Boot game, I let it load until menu screen, then close. Now you have the folder.
Yeah, can't get this to work AT ALL, the interface for PCSX2 is COMPLETELY different now, more closely resembling DuckStation. Anybody know how to get this mod working with the latest nightly? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have no Texture folder, and in the Graphics settings on the advanced part i have only OpenGl things, not texture replacements:C How can i fix it?
I'm using the latest version of pcsx2 (1.7) and I don't see many of the options in the game settings menu.
Followed this guide and other on GTPlanet and still not seeing much difference. Yeah it is sharper but lot of details (car stickers with company names/logos) are still blurry.
Same issue with textures. The retexture mod pack has reverted from 2.2 to 2.1 for reasons unknown. It may be because of multiple issues reported with the newer version.

Hi! For some reason mu textures folder is empty. I tried doing what you suggested with the "load textures" setting several times but still no folder is created inside the textures folder. Do you know what might cause this?
nevermind i found the fix in your other 30second video. It had bugged i jusst clicked first "dump textures" then again "load textures" and it created the file

Really great mod! Working just fine on new PCSX2 version. AI did a great job in most textures. Would be nice to see some designers putting their hands manualy on the textures, but it's alot of work. This mod already is insane! Thanks!
after manually going through all my pcsx2 folders i cannot find any scus folders, i boot gt4 using file search then select the rom on my desktop, can anyone help with where im going wrong and how to fix.

My goodness is this amazing! Took a couple seconds for me to figure out why my textures didn't look as good, and it's because my in game screen settings were set to 480p, once i changed it over to 1080i everything looked as it did in the video. Absolutely stunning job guys! I do have a question regarding running in 6k, every time i try i get a memory failure message, although that's surprising as i have 64GB of RAM. Any ideas on what i can do to fix that? Running in 5k for the time being :) (Specs = i9-12900kf, 3080ti, 64gb 3600mhz ram, 1tb / 2tb m.2's)
Thanks for the comment. First of all 480p is better 'cause it's progressive resolution not interlaced (that one sucks, normal option is 480i which makes the screen blurry so does the 1080i) and uses less resources of your PC. Answering your question the issue IS NOT your RAM but VRAM of your gpu (memory allocation). GT4 has huge vram spikes. To remove it just click F9 to switch to software mode then again F9 to switch back to hardware. It will clear your GPU vram (vram dump) and allow to play without any graphics isssues.

@@GtafanPL Hello! The thing about 480p is that it is not saved. So user either has to enable it every time he boots into game. Or use cheat which will do it for him

@@waifudouyin9235 for anyone seeing this that has cheats listed already, you can add the line in an existing cheat if unfamiliar how to make a new .pnach file.

ya intente absolutamente todo, pero las letras del menu y los graficos definitivamente no se ven como en el video....a pesar de q en los menus del juego me dice aparece el logo del mod y todo, pero graficamente el juego no cambio en absoluto, y me costo igual porq uso la version night 1.7.5308 que el menu cambio muchisimo

Hello. I have a problem that in the emulators nightly in the Gran Turismo 4 when I play a race it look a vertical line on the street in front of the car and behind that sometimes you don't see it and other times you do. and in the stable emulators you don't see that problem of the vertical line in the gran turismo 4. The person who put together my pc told me that the problem must be the bios plugin.
but in nightly emulators there is no option to select the plugins, and in stable emulators there is the option to select the plugins.
Any solution for this problem...
Now if only a 32:9 hud patch/fix existed with this mod, Id be in heaven. Racing this with a wheel on the emulator is already fun.

4:43 this hacks setting doesnt exist anymore
When I dump textures it endlessly generates same textures with different names on every playthrough. Can you help me? Or can you make more clear tutorial? Can you show how you dump textures, using one map? Like will it generate them again with different names if you use quickload?
Uncheck "dump textures" option then use only "load textures"
just got the mod,looks f amazing, just 1 problems, in some maps like in the infinion raceway in the supercar festival the sky seems to bug out with a giand line, any posssible fix?

I seem to have a problem with texture loading, the folders were successfully created and I've unziped the archive into the replacements folder and checked to load them, but the textures in game don't update even after restarting the game. It's hard to provide details as i don't know where to start trouble shooting, but it seems the emulator either ignores files or the files are not named the same way they appear in dump?
I figured it out, the archive didnt have enough hard drive space to unpack and copy to a different drive

the texture did not appear in textures folder if using GT4 PAL version
Try "Dump textures" option instead in showroom/ race. It should create the folders then switch off dump textures and use load textures. Mod is working on PAL too, tested before.
Try to create inside the "textures" folder a new folder named "SCES-51719" (the PAL version of GT4) and put the "replacements" folder inside, it worked for me.

For now you are able to replace sounds with the exisiting ones so the answer is not really
this guide needs updating, as the options menu looks very different now on the lastest nightly build
no need, all the options in the new UI are the same, they're just in different place now.

Are there any plans on upscaling the UI??
We wish we could but the problem with the UI is it's not a single file. We attempted it and we couldn't get it upscaled properly (I had to remove around 10k files that were dumped HUD elements manually, HUD was only upscaled on chase cam). If we really wanted to do it the pack would like 20 30GB? Thus we decided to drop the idea.

Looks good for the most part. Some of the ads in the NYC track not lining up within the time period bugged me a lil though. A Cingular ad next to an AMD ad toting Ryzen and Radeon? Modern Nike advertised near an Infiniti G35 board and a modern MacBook Pro? Just doesn't really make sense. Definitely a nitpick but imo it makes it feel kinda chintzy.

Definitely NOT in this form. Real hardware has its' limits when it comes so resolution. Mby ISO editing can change some stuff.

You mean the original PS2? The main problem would be that the mod would show little improvement, GT4 brings the Playstation 2 to it's graphical limits, there is very little to improve.

Change the clamping settings from this video back to normal for all license tests. Change back for normal racing. Yes it's a pain in the ass
