    Nice. No need to use the autoignition on start though. The starter switch in the up position (starter and ignition) is enough

      All the Asobo planes are startable without needed to use control+E, all of them have a checklist but few of them may have a full checklist.

    Do you have a PDF of a checklist that you run through if so what checklist do you use?

      At the time of recording this video, I had used the in-game checklist but there are highly detailed PDF checklists on flightsim.to that you can use but they won't follow this video.

    hmm, i flipped the battery switch and the avionics doesnt even turn on, i can start the left engine but not the right? common microsoft i dont want to start out with the plane already started on the runway -_-...
    this aircraft is bugged as of 10/10/2020

    • @NealTV8
      @NealTV8  3 года назад

      You actually can't start the avionics without the engines on because that may drain the battery IRL. External power isn't simulated well for all aircraft except for a few jets.

    • @ruirodtube
      @ruirodtube 3 года назад

      When flipping the battery switch on only the left monitor should come online.
      Perhaps you can't start the other engine because you depleted the battery after starting the first engine and you didn't bring the generator of the live engine online properly. To successfully bring the generator online you must follow the steps in sequence: Starter ON, Introduce fuel, Starter OFF, Generator reset and then ON... wait a few moments... apply the same procedure on the other engine.
      Leave the avionics off until both generators are online to prevent damage in case the electric loads drop a lot during startup.
      Enjoy!

      I had followed everything that was said on the in-game checklist.

      Before engine start place the engine/prop levers in the following position from left to right to facilitate the startup: Power levers - idle, Prop levers - full forward (fine prop pitch), condition levers - both fuel cut-off.
      Now power the Battery ON (to power basic avionics and engine starter)
      Then, to start the engine, toggle the right engine Start switch ON - this will make the starter spin up the N1 engine shaft and simultaneously powers up the Ignitors.
      When N1 rotation is above 13% introduce fuel using the Right engine Condition Lever by moving it from cutoff to low idle. RPMs + ignitors + fuel = burn = more RPMs.
      When the engine becomes self-sustaining (50% N1 or above), toggle the Starter switch to OFF, because in a few seconds the starter will become a generator (if you forget this step your generators will never go online and the battery will be depleted in less than 30 minutes - so use your checklist! :-)).
      Then set the right engine Condition lever to high idle (full forward) to get a lot of RPMs because you're about to power on the generator and when it comes online it'll be immediately be under load (to power the aircraft systems and reload the battery) and it will cause resistance on the N1 shaft.
      Right Generator - Reset (all the way up) and On (just release it - it'll spring load to ON).
      Wait 20 seconds until the battery charges up (look up at the loadmeter on the roof panel and wait for it to be below 50%).
      Apply same procedure to left engine; Starter ON, introduce fuel, Starter OFF, Reset left generator and switch it ON.
      Small difference now: don't advance the left Condition lever (unlike what he did on the video 2:28) but retard the right Condition lever back to idle and that's where they'll both stay for the rest of the flight until you power off the engines.
      Now that you won't have any jumps in electric loads go ahead and switch the Avionics Master ON.
      In real life more checks are needed to make sure both engines and generators are working fine but for the purpose of having some fun in FS you can skip those.
      I hope this helps you understand.
      Cheers

    Screw this aircraft. Unnecessarily complicated - its only good feature is that it's easy to fly manually. That's it. Crap endurance, burns through fuel, better off using a standard twin piston Beechcraft.
