Hey Jon, thanks for all you’ve done to help grow the game, congrats on all of your success this year and I look forward to seeing what’s coming in 2025! 💪 One of the things I’ve been wondering is how do you determine whether to use longer strips of 1/2 oz per inch or shorter strips of 1 oz per inch tungsten/lead tape? Is there a noticeable difference between having weight more concentrated (3 inch strip of 1 oz per inch tape) versus being more spread out (6 inch strip of 1/2 oz per inch tape)? I know you typically run your measurements on stock paddles, but I know you also like to put weight on most of them so I was curious to know if the different types of weight lead to changes in those metrics (like if a shorter heavier piece of 1 oz tape would cause a larger increase in swing weight versus a longer piece of 1/2 oz tape, that sort of thing). I know some of the main pickleball podcasters have shown the benefits you get from different weight setups in terms of where on the paddle face you put the weight, but I don’t remember seeing/hearing anything about using the different sizes of tape. If anyone has and you can direct me to them, please feel free to share, otherwise I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Thank you @JohnKewPickleball!! Really excited to try the Vatic Saga and I'm looking forward to picking up a J2K+/TI+ in the future.. those look promising! Awesome content as always!

Liked. In my opinion, by far, the most important portion of this podcast is your conversation with Tom of Selkirk. Bravo, Tom & Selkirk. I wonder if there can be a public movement to boycott paddles from the few companies that 'play ball' with the PPA. Money talks, and the most effective pressure that can be effected is on paddle company's the pocket book. Selkirk and the other 14 companies cannot do it on their own. Ultimately, if PPA is allowed to continue their demands, we the PB playing public are the ones that will stand to lose. To this end, I believe that the RUclips channels such as yourself can exert significant influence in getting the word out.
It's a great idea but it won't work. I'm thinking maybe 2% maybe 3% of players even know what's going on. 97 to 98% of the players out there. Have not a clue. Many don't even know who Ben John's is and all they want to do is play. In my opinion, the only way things get better is if the players form a player's Union to stop all the shenanigans and dishonesty of the PPA/upa.
@@Mr.DJones Do as I understand from the interview if a company doesnt pay the marketing or testing fee they will provide pros with a paddle?? Just make them play with a blacked out paddle. PPA prob be providing a Joola so they can pick up more pros. All the UPA rules are stupid.
