Thank you for an amazing video. I was fortunate enough to visit Japan in 1975 and and again in 1976 as part of a tour group from the BKKS. It was a long trip from Ontario Canada but certainly worth every penny it cost. The garden in this video reminded me of the gardens I visited during my time in Japan. The tranquiulity, the serenity, the simplicity and the beauty, just amazing. You are so fortunate to have something so beautiful and so close. Cheers.
Thanks mate. I'm hoping to get over to Japan next year so I'll definitely look out for some gardens. I went over once but I didn't visit any then, maybe around 2010 I think.
We’re coming to the cold part of year again lol 😂 Amazing gardens there wow 🤩 Those shots from coming up the wall and poking out from the side were 😎 Good job 👍
Hi daz, looks like a lovely visit, i have a couple of beautiful Japanese acers overhanging my pond which look stunning together With a granite Japanese pagoda with lighting, looks beautiful in the evenings, keep up your great videos and tutorials my friend, there worth there weight in gold 👍
Thanks very much Anthony, that means a lot mate. And your garden sounds amazing. I do have a couple of acers but they aren't great and they're not really near the pond. I've only go the small yard at the moment so I cant do too much but I am definitely going to try and make the place feel more 'Japanesey'.
Thanks Daz Looks like you had a great holiday I spotted the Yambuki Ogon ! It seemed a lightly stocked pond and I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with that it’s sensible I’d need an industrial sized filter for it A lot of thought and skills went into creating the garden it looks as if it grew there really natural and established mosses on the stones ornaments and trees Very nice that I’m the aquarist my Wife’s the Gardener she especially will like this video Great video again mate and something fresh to look at I might try and grow some moss on the new pond next year give it a more natural look 10 outa 10 yet again Cheers appreciated Simon 👍
Cheers Simon, I really appreciate that mate. Holiday was great, thanks. It was just the semblance of normality that made it it so good after the past 18 months. Yes the moss is very important, I remember watching a program with a guy talking about all the symbolism and things, its really interesting when you read in to it. I remember moss being particularly significant but I cant remember why. I'll have to do some more reading 👍👍
Haha, I'm not sure people would be too happy with their wedding video if I did it. I've got a new phone which is supposed to be the best camera phone there is at the moment so I'll see how that goes for the next video.
Hiya I have a question if you don’t mind me asking but I have a air rated bottom drain and that I heard you should not run it 24 hours a day that it could cause fish problems how many hours per day would you recommend mate thank you
Hi mate, you need your air source running 24 hours a day 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Your koi and filter bacteria depend on a plentiful and continuous supply of oxygen for everything they do. With most everything in koi keeping the key is consistency and stability. You are trying to create a mini ecosystem and huge changes such as turning off air will cause a major imbalance and have a knock on effect on everything else to. If you have a bottom drain it is also vital as it pushes the waste to the drain to keep the pond bottom clean. It also disrupts the water surface making it harder for predators to see your fish.
What a beautiful place. Loved the bonsai trees 🌳
Looking forward to seeing your next video 📹
Take care 🐟 😎👍🏼
Beautiful place. Thanks for filming and sharing Darren.
No problem Lau 👍👍
