“MY KZ UR BF”euphoric jazzy, melancholy “Suffragette” “Querty Finger” Rock vibe but on EverythingEverything vocal broader more range, voice has shades of Brit New Wave, “Cold Reactor” “Enter Mirror” pop centered
I've followed Everything Everything since their start by way of their "singles" and a few random tracks so this was the first time I listened to a full album of theirs. It did not disappoint -- 4.5 stars looking in the direction of 5. His vocals do not bother me and totally establish the uniqueness of their sound. One thing I found through embracing individual tracks over the years is that the first listen is always a bit odd (though intriguing) but by, say, the tenth play, you've figured it out and it sounds great (and it doesn't even sound that odd anymore). Thanks guys as always!
you dudes are the coolest music cats on RUclips by far. Please keep it up. I miss kranz too
Ditto, Ditto, and ditto.
They were my most streamed artist on spotify last year. Dove into their discography and this one surprised me cause it isn't very talked about. 4 star album i think it's a great listen.
I love foxes so cover is a winner
3 / 5
I think I was the first in the Discord to comment on the constant shifting in and out of the falsetto, but once I noticed it, it just overshadowed everything else that was happening on the album.
great band great debut I actually saw them live with The Vaccines last night absolutely blinding show. Jennifer and Violet Sun were the highlights!
Jennifer is a very cool song.
Great debut album!
totally agree with Joe on the Yes-thing. Weights sounds TOTALLY like 80's 90125-era Yes!
Minus the Bear makes some sense with the mathrock element. However, from a point of reference, the 2 bands I and many others often compare them to are Foals and Bloc Party. Bloc Party I enjoy, however Jason's comment about the sound wanting to sound bigger than it is has always been an issue I've had with Bloc Party. Bloc Party wants to be Muse, but aren't Arena or Stadium-level, even though their music sounds like it is trying to be. I can sort of agree with the same point with Everything Everything, although ultimately it doesn't really matter for me with EE per I actually have come to being a bigger fan of them than Bloc Party.
Foals on the other hand, I probably put a notch or 2 over EE now.
I hope you're not insinuating that I jumped on some sort of bandwagon. I'm perfectly capable of forming my own opinions. 🧐
What's the next deep dive year you guys are doing? Just curious.
94!
@@TastesLikeMusic awesome! 1994 and 1987 are my favorites!
