    Thank you for pointing out the fact that any discount the factoring company offers you on fuel it’s off of the posted truck stop price, which is already inflated. So you are really not saving any money.
    I have my guys fuel ⛽️ up at the QT gas stations at the regular car pumps. The trucks can fit under the awnings and the fuel is cheaper at the QT.

    Hey boss I’m 26 and about to get my second truck and put a driver in it. How do you feel about paying your driver per load ? Is that a good idea

    • @diy4lyfe800
      @diy4lyfe800  2 года назад +1

      For me it depends on your finances and your drivers mentality.
      For example you give them 15 percent of the load and you running good paying loads like $3 a mile loads then everybody happy. But when the market turn and you not getting them $3 dollars loads no more you get like 1.95 etc that 15 percent cuts into your profit. Vice verse you paying by the mile it’s a little more leg work but your driver knows what he needs to do just my personal opinion. It comes down to do you want to be responsible for counting the miles or chill and just give them a percent of it.

    If you own your trucks make sure you account for deprecation.

    How do you pay your drivers? RPM OR PERcentage

    • @diy4lyfe800
      @diy4lyfe800  2 года назад +1

      We switch to 15/30 15 cent for deadheading and 30 cent for loaded miles. For example driver in Atlanta and there’s a load from Charlotte ,sc New Jersey. Atlanta to Charlotte let’s say it’s 200 miles it’s .15 *200 for UNLOADEDmiles and Charlotte to New Jersey is 700 miles so it be .30 *700

    Were you able to make this kind of money with an MC authority that was under 90 days? Most brokers are rejecting me simply because I’m under the 90 day MC authority history. I was wondering if you saw a HUGE difference in opportunity and pay once your hit over 3 months??

    • @diy4lyfe800

      my authority is less then 6 months. you just gottta hit the load boards

      @@diy4lyfe800 based on your answer, I’m assuming your MC authority is over 90 days. It definitely makes a big difference in opportunity and income to have an MC that’s over 90 days.

      it Does, however there are opportunities out there that goes with amazon. when we first started we got with an amazon dispatcher and we just did amazon loads for him that paid the bills you know. where are you running from i may know someone in that area you can run under there amazon account

      @@diy4lyfe800 I’m in DFW Texas (Allen, Texas) which is 30 miles north of Dallas. Amazon rates have been horrible lately. I get where you’re coming from when you said enough to pay the bills, but what about having extra capital for your truck? Oil change, new tires, new parts for effective maintenance, etc…
