You are too kind! But what MCG publishes the game! So that is 10,000x more useful :) , and the last tip in this video was inspired by MCG designer Sean K. Reynolds himself. I'm just a fan!
Tips for NEW Players, huh? Well I'm not new but I guess I'll watch. #1- Your roll is your roll. .......holy crap I never noticed that! 😛 Great info as always, and packed in well-produced videos.
I was sent here by The Infinite Construct's suggestion. They were right, this video functions well as a primer for how the Cypher system contrasts with other TTRPGs.
Another good video. Our table's method assumes a certain quickness with the math, but is pretty simple to explain. One rolls, applies any modifiers, and then announces the result as their achieved difficulty. For example, the GM asks for an Understanding Numenera roll. My Nano is specialized, so he eases the roll by two steps. Then, I roll a 13. That's a Difficulty 4 doubly eased, so I'd announce "Difficulty 6". It might take a few sessions for some to adjust, and we all have friends who have an "Inability with math tasks", but this really smooths play for us. It minimizes the intrusion of mechanics into the narrative, and removes from the GM the burden of "doing the math".
That's a great way to do it as well! Especially since there's a lot of language in the books about creatures performing tasks "as Level X." This really syncs the players in with that.
I'm still learning the game (about to play my first session, still building a character), but if I understand the rules correctly, that a 2nd Tier Nano would have not 4 but at least 5 (up to 7) available points total against the difficulty. Dependant on if you've also gained your second additional edge point and have put either or both of your additional points in Int Edge.
It would depend on the difficulty. Could you give a hypothetical example so I could see a bit more clearly what you mean? Like an example encounter, or skill task?
These are really useful videos. I am running Numenera Discovery and these videos are really helpful.
Your channel is 1000x more useful than what Monte Cook puts out. Thanks for breaking the game down in a lot more digestible way for the new players!

our group uses a method similar to this as well.
As always, great videos explaining about the system and making the task easier for new players and gms, very grateful for this.
So great to hear you again! This is a nother incredibly useful one. I really enjoyed it. Thanks! :)
Thank you for a new video!!!
Always appreciated the hard work you put into them. Cheers until next time!
