In one of my local gun shops I've seen this pistol and a 4006 and I really want one one of the two or both. Nice video and nice to have family who support your hobbies and interests.
@@BoomStickTactical A majority of stainless S&W guns were popular in movies because of their looks. Stainless showed up great on camera (hence Michael Mann telling his armors to scrub the bluing off the Bren Ten for Miami Vice) and the design shape to them was very attractive. And at that time LEOs were heavy into carrying them so they were recognizable.
Congrats on your firearm. I carried one on duty for several years and have never owned a finer shooting gun. The only drawback to that firearm that I had was attempting to carry off duty, certainly a large frame.
Beautiful gun, man. I've been wanting one of these 3rd gen Smith .45s. Looks like yours is pristine. IIRC, the non-dash 4506 has the lightening cuts in the frame (like the 645) in addition to the more square trigger guard. They basically used the beefed up frame from the 1006 on the 4506-1. Not that it matters... just kind of interesting. But anyway, thanks for sharing. And contributing to me being broke...
I gave one of these, a transitional model. The trigger guard is squared off, but the model number on the frame is 4506-1. The slide looks like a 4506-1 slide, ' The no longer made gun I am looking for is the Harrington and Richardson 999 top break 22LR revolver. Supposed to be common, but I never see any in the used gun case at the stores I visit.
I have a 1006. I have shot inch and a half groups at 50 yards with it over a sand bag. It could use a trigger job. Great review. Cool slow motion. I like the earlier versions without the black trigger, hammer and different trigger guard a little bit more. The biggest problem are the plastic magazine base plates. My gun hasn't been fired much but the magazine base plates are starting to crack badly. JB weld I hope will work.
+DerekJason3000 one of the magazines I have has the metal follower. I'm not sure about the specific models but there are several available online. I like the looks of several of the third generation smiths. Thanks for watching.
Derek Jason I have the 1006 Smith and wesson 10mm and that bad boy got some hell of a fire power more than the 4506 45 I'm thinking about getting me one
I love the s&w 3rd. Gen. I have the models 4566 and 410. Great pistols. I'm looking fer the models 5906 and 4006. for my collection. Its hard to find these models that are non Leo owned.
Nice video it was also denzel Washingtons in training day he had 2 I had one a few years ago but sold it a friend made me an offer I couldn't refuse but I got a second one for only 350 with 3 mags I don't plan on selling this one and I consider it a 1911 so I dude I need a 1911 in my collection with my 4506
I like this gun. This is Denzel Washington's Gun from the movie Training Day. I dont persay want it but, It looks like a really, really cool. I love DA/SA Guns with Decocker and Safety. Great Review and Great Shooting. Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
Very Nice video. Just ran into your Channel ONLY 3 Years after You did the video. Better Late then Never. LOVE The Smiths. Only one I have is The 5906. You peaked my interest in adding such a Nice Specimen of a weapon as the 4506. You have a NEW Subscriber . Today is 24 Nov. 2019
just got yesterday but mine don't have the wings on the rear sights i had a 4006 no dash a few years back regret selling it i was one of the best 40S&W I've shot i have two other Smith's a 629-5 and a 686+ got a Ruger GP 100 on layaway too i would really like a Colt Python
oops, I guess I should of asked what kind of sleeve is on that gun? hogue? I have a .45 4506-1, without out them adjustable sights...I don't have them metal plates on the side of the back sight...Im looking for some night sights for it....but can't find any.
Sorry, I guess i should of told you. Yes, it is a Hogue grip sleeve. Here is the link to it: amzn.to/2n1kpYs As far as night sights, here is a link to a video where I talk about the Glow On gun sight paint. You can also order it from the link in the description. ruclips.net/video/R-JHsY5hYKE/видео.html
Thank You BST, Im surprised they don't make night sights for my gun, seeing there's a lot of them around. Im thinking about getting some half ghost sites made like seen at the bottom of this page, then maybe using some of that glow on, on them, where I can. www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/6641298/all/XS_Big_Dot_Or_Standard_for_Sel them small sights the gun has originally are somewhat hard for me to line up fast.
Since ppl were able to hold a gun. Remember this is America 🇺🇸 that means the guy with the gun is the law😳 & America does not discriminate you can also be the woman with a gun.
@@BoomStickTactical People want short barrel polymers now. My wife likes shooting my heavy 4566. It cuts down on the recoil. A thing people forget about. It has a heavier recoil spring too.
This was Denzel’s gun in Training Day. I want one!
Yes it was and its great. I wanted it for a while myself.
That's exactly why I'm here! I thought I was the only one! He uses two of them to shoot at the crips....This is actually optional on LAPDs gun list.
It was also Vic Mackey's gun on The Shield
I just bought a 4506 on Friday and I had been eyeing that gun for about two weeks and bought it before it disappeared, now my son wants it...lol
They're great. It would be great if Smith brought them back

Better get it while you can
I just got my 4506-1 back from my brother. It has been bounced back and forth between us for about 15 years. I love the Smith 3rd generations.
+Gunfighter302 they are one of my favorites also. Thanks for watching
The 4506 a straight workhorse of gun. I wanted one but never the opportunity get one. Hold on to it because it's a keeper.
It definitely is a keeper. It's a beast and fun to shoot.
That 1006 Smith and wesson 10mm is more powerful than the 4506 I'm thinking about getting me one of the 4506
Both are classics.
@@BoomStickTactical so true I want one 4506
I just happened into a 4516-1 recently, and I really fell in love. I had forgotten what nice pieces these stainless Smith .45 autos were.
It would be great if they started making them again
I have one of these except mine has this square trigger guard. I got it because I wanted to be like Vic Mackey
+Darpan they were very popular in the 90s movies. Thanks for watching
Damn he carried one of those

I want Santa claus to give me that for Christmas 😁 I been good
I was surprised to find it under the Christmas tree myself.

Why don't you make like a tree and get outta here. Lol
The -1 on the 4506 not only indicates he trigger guard but also the frame doesn't have the "step" in it in the newer design.
I wish they still made them.

Nice firearm. Love the 3rd gen Smiths. No 4506 but have a 4513 4516 457 4566 4586 5906 645 and my EDC a very nice CS-45. Plastic guns need not apply 😉
I wish they would start making these again
I would love to get a sw model 38
Those are nice. I would like to have the 5906 also.
I own a 4506-1 and mine don’t hold that many , (4:30 ) is that a factory magazine ?
Yes. All my mags hold 8 rounds
the 645 is very similar. the safety latch keeps vibrating loose on the right side. any suggestions?
+louis cyfer a small drop of blue lock tight should do the trick. Don't use the red or you won't be able to take it off at all.
what grip is on that gun? the plastic seems kinda flimsy on mine, maybe a grip would help it be stronger

A 5 minute job to get rid of the annoying mag disconnect

Not all Stainless Steel.. Your Hammer and Trigger are not SS. My 4566 is all Stainless and has a square trigger guard.
