- Not something you come across every day. I thought it'd be interesting to see what smartbombing ships out of their warp tunnel looks like. Maybe if this video gets more people doing it, I'll get to see it from the victim's perspective.

I have actually been a near victim of this earlier this year. MId warp i lose a shitload of HP on my tengu and land at a gate in structure 10 seconds later. I was confused AF to what happened. Two ships did flash on my overview during warp.
I knew this was a thing since RNK era. But I have never seen someone guide this in-depth. thanks!!
This reinforces my habit to always warp to a celestial nearby to the gate Im heading to. Never warp gate to gate.

I've ended up making a Gnosis fit that holds 5 bombs and a cloak for less than 100m, does 1500 Alpha so should be enough to take out those pesky explorers too! Will let you know how it goes.

This happened to me recently and I wasn’t happy about it.
Me too mate. I was carrying 30mils worth of loot from my first null sec explo and few systems from jita... They got me. I wasn't mad cause my ship is super cheap but I was sad due to lots of lost time

Those PvP skills though...you have to press 4 or sometimes even 7 buttons (or 1 with macro) for a shuttle/corvette kill. Endgame PvP content right there...

I remember back in 2018 when they had that federation race event, and one of the places to go was the EVE constellation where I lived at the time. So we just smart bombed literally everyone and everything that showed up. Got so much salt.

Rancer... We used to bomb t3s, haulers and even hacs. They would jump in.. proceed to talk shit when they warped to the outgate... then disappear from local. Keep up the great work :D hahah this is awesome!

how do you know when? cause all i see is the smart bombs turning on and you kill someone
You need 2 accounts, at 6.21 is an example of what my alt sees. This tells me when to detonate on the other account

@@EVEILOnlinewhat about dscan? Could it you dscan to a bookmark that’s just far enough away (I think four server ticks) that upon getting the ping, you can still smart bomb. It sounds like it could work.

Question: if the victim has bookmarks above the gate, say 500km, does those bookmarks change the alignment of the warp or no? Meaning can they technically avoid your smart bomb spot by aiming for a bookmark 500km above the gate ?
Yep thats right, in that situation they would avoid the smartbomb

I just use one of the Z-S Overview packs :) if you join the ingame channel "Z-S Overview" there will be instructions on how to set it up, only takes 30 seconds

Does anyone know this still works I tried this and 0.5 security and my all never saw any ships pass and I did a lot of bookmarks. I'm just curious am I supposed to do it in null sec does it not work in 0.5 I'm just curious on why I haven't seen any ships pop up on my overview as as they are warping

Have you tried this with multiple pipe bombers for larger targets?
I think the only way you could scale it up reliably would be to get enough bombers so that there are multiple smartbombs detonating every tick. It'd be too difficult to coordinate the timing otherwise. I'd love to try it though

Not unless you get lucky... The purpose of the video was to demonstrate it was possible, explain how to do it, and just show it in action. You're not just limited to shuttles. A number of options open up once you understand how to do it

I read about it, and wanted to see if I could do it myself. It was a challenge really. I did it a few times and made this video with the footage. There are people who do it regularly, but I found it too boring
@@EVEILOnline I totally get it 😁. I may try to set a trap in nullsec for ceptors fleets. But as u said at the end of the video u can't make a spot for all warping speeds, so u never know if u are at the correct spot .

Can't express to you how Mad this video made me .... lol. not at you. But at Every single veteran in my alliance who told be I could not do this. So I didn't even try. So I guess I am mad at myself too. I had a POS at a moon between two gates where I would see ships from - as they flew past. (on Overview). I was told that supposedly a ship is invulnerable in warp. it IS as it accelerates off grid and arrives. But apparently that is true ONLY when its not in cruise.
Oh you can absolutely still smartbomb ships as they accelerate/decelerate. Vorton arcs also work. You just can't lock ships in warp

You can always do what R&K did back in the days with a warp disruption bubble. This way you won't have to predict where they drop, you'll just pull them in at the edge of a bubble.
Yeah I have another vid on drag bubbles. Not gonna work in low or high sec though as you can't use bubbles there. Shuttles are also nullified so they're immune to bubbles

This seems more like a bug than a feature as logically speaking no human should be able to predict (or even see) a ship moving 2480 times the speed of light. Is it true that the reason this is possible because communication with the server occurs every second?
Yep! I'd call it creative use of game mechanics
My friend told me to watch this, bcz this is what happened to me when I started to play EVE.... After I finished the exploration missions I transferred all my things to the new free ship that I got from the missions and started to do some exploration(in a 0.9 sec), found 2 data sites that where empty, then I found a relic site, and I started to warp to it, but in the process of warping my ship got destroyed out of nowere.... With not enough money to buy a new exploration ship, and not knowing wdf happened, I decided to quit the game..... And that was my story playing EVE.... :( I really wanted to play this game more, but that experience killed it for me...
Sucks you quit eve before getting really into it. I have to say though, I highly doubt this is what happened to you. You saw in the video how much effort it is to set up the right spot to smartbomb, I doubt anyone would go through the effort of doing this between a gate and a relic site (which would despawn fairly quickly).
Even if that is what happened, unfortunately this is why the first rule of eve is never undock what you can't afford to replace. You should have upwards of 20m if you complete all of the career missions, plenty to replace exploration frigates.
