The Karnak temple complex, commonly called Karnak, includes a vast number of sacred structures. Ancient temples, ancient shrines, ancient chapels, ancient pylons, ancient courtyards, ancient porches aaand many many others :D were constructed on the site by generations of pharaohs for hundreds of years. Just think of any New Kingdom pharaoh; Amenhotep I? Thutmose III? Hatshepsut? Ramesses the Great? Ramses III? Tutankhamun? They as well as their predecessors and successors commissioned works in once the most sacred place in the world. The first to build there were the rulers of the Middle Kingdom, such as Senusret I, but also much later pharaohs like Taharqa, Alexander the Great, the Ptolemies or Romans either constructed new edifices or added to, renovated or adapted the old, quite often decayed structures making Karnak great again. ;)

Join me to explore the Festival Hall of Thutmose III, temples of Amun-Ra’s “family” - Khonsu and Mut as well as the temple of Rameses the Great and imposing pylons of the southern processional route. Let’s take a peek at the lesser visited shrines of Karnak and, naturally, let’s get to know more about their history!
Explored in February 2022.

Hey Darren I'm glad you're still hanging in here.
❤❤👍👍
I've grown so used to your Egypt videos on a regular basis, that it will be really sad when you eventually have to go somewhere else!
Thank you! You always watch and comment on my videos. ❤ I'm not going anywhere ;)
@@ancientsitesgirl Your videos are legitimately great! The camera work, editing, and the narration are top-notch! I love them. ❤
Are you going to be living in Egypt now?
@@SculptyWorks I definitely feel better there than in Europe and I'm seriously thinking about moving there...
@@ancientsitesgirl That's cool! I've long been considering trying out life there, but unfortunately I can't just up and leave everything here. 😉
Well a few people are considering life outside Europe. Thanks for your videos
All caught up on replay - many thanks- great video and thank the editor too ☺️
Thank you!! :)
I just discovered your site yesterday. It's wonderful! I've been fascinated by Archeology and Egyptology since childhood. I love the information and walk throughs. It's like I'm on a personal guided tour. I'm binge watching the all of it! Thank you so much!! 😁👍🖖🤘
Thank you very much! I hope you stay✌❤
Absolutely. Im already subscribed and clicked the alert bell! ❤️😁
She really does good work. It's ALWAYS enjoyable listening to her along with the beautiful scenery.
There's no Digital look here, no fisheye effect, She doesn't film with GoPro like everyone else!

Amazing video as allways Irena!!! Thanks for your great job! ♥
Thanks for watching and commenting!💗
I am a new subscriber, do you have any plans to do any episodes on the first temples such as those associated with the primeval cosmic deity Atum and heliopolitan creation myth.
Soon I will return to Egypt, please suggest where to go, what to film
Wonderful as always. Many thanks for the education .......
Thank you! :)
Hey AS, I love karnak and Egyptian temples in general. You came across a statue of a baboon. They are supposed to represent each of the 12 hours of night time. So where you find one, there should be another 11...but they were probably stolen or destroyed. King Tut has twelve painted on the walls of his tomb.
I see your Reebok trainers are holding up well AS. I will let you into a secret, Reebok classics are my favourite trainers, they are sooo comfortable. Big shout to your amazing camera person, and great sound track also....peace to ya.
Hey Darren, thanks for commenting! Did you know that baboons were trained in ancient Egypt to catch bad guys? I'd love to see that 😁 I was in love with nikes but now Reeboks won my heart 😅 classics ofc!
@@ancientsitesgirl No I didn't know that AS. Trying to fend off a baboon is a terrifying prospect. Put it this way, if you put a baboon in a ring with Mike Tyson...the baboon is going to win. Thanks for reply and much peace to you.
You two out-classed me. I wear some old gray safety shoes I bought to walk the dry docks of Pearl Harbor, and board the nuclear subs. They may not be all that comfortable, but they sure are durable.💦🌊🏄
@@catman8965 If they work for ya Cat Man...that's all that matters.
Hello! You may have been an Egyptian in a previous life..🙁 You look very satisfied and happy when you are surrounded by those ruins.🤠😄

बहुत-बहुत धन्यवाद
Hatshepsut was extraordinary women, she ruled so successfully in a world dominated by men in a succession crisis aftermath the Hyksos controle. and yet we hear more about cleopatra since she fit more into the men drama fantasies.
Interesting approach ;) thanks for commenting! :)
Karnak is a difficult site to cover ... However you did, and your team, a very good job. Entertaining and informative. Like the background music and the camera man is good.
Thanks ✌️❤️
Kolejna super wycieczka z mnóstwem informacji ❤️

@@ancientsitesgirl Thank you ⚠️
I wish I can travel with you u are amazing
Thanks!😊
Famed Egyptologist Zahi Hawass is hoping to make an announcement, pending DNA confirmation, in October that two discovered mummies in tombs designated KV21 and KV35, are those of Nefertiti and her daughter Ankhesenamun, Tut’s Royal Wife. Also discovered along with the female mummies was a small boy’s mummy Dr. Hawass believes was Nefertiti and Ahkenaten’s son.
I look forward to hearing about it impatiently🤗
Famed? More like fraud. He'll make up any story if you can make money on it. And he will hide anything to keep his narrative going. Zahi is a traitor to the people of Egypt and the world.
You are amazing!! 🍭🌸
Thank you! :)
You are a really great teacher
Wonderful.
Thanks!

good
Thanks
It's my dear Egypt, I miss it.
It's a truly wonderful place
@@ancientsitesgirl Yes, that's great My country Dear Egypt
Thanks Irena great video as always.🏅🥇
I noticed someone said in the comments 'you might have been Egyptian in another life' I think it's your Red Gene's, you know when a lot of black people bleach their hair it goes ginger before it goes white. Perhaps you have very Ancient Black Gene's from early Africans who came up into Europe, or you may even have Moors blood. My Son is ginger, people dont believe he is my Son because I'm mixed race but my Mum is a white blonde and my Dad is mostly Caribbean Indian but there is other ethnicities in our blood too.
🧡🧡🧡
Thanks for commenting and such an interesting theory! 😁
Do you plan to do visit Iran ? Lots of ancient history there too.
Of course! Especially Persepolis ❤
I'm just here for the beautiful red head!
👍😂
@@ancientsitesgirl but seriously do you think after visiting these sites that some kind of knowledge has been lost? . Or advanced stone working techniques? Just interested to hear your thoughts.
It is a miracle that after thousands of years we have so much information thanks to archaeologists. Many discoveries ahead of us, many secrets are lost forever. I think they were even more technically advanced than we think.
Hello. Have you ever thought to go to Stonehenge ?
Of course, I dream of traveling all over England!
@@ancientsitesgirl Great ! If you come to East England, just let me know.

Irena gets me sweaty... Whew!!.
