@@HelloWorld-kt7jk The point is that penalties are really big punishments so you have to be sure when you decide to assign one. Especially in situations like that, you can not have doubts and you should be sure that the foul is clear and really bad, with no possible interpretation. Penalty every games?, are you sure?😩
if the ball hits your hand it's a foul. That is the rule. Watch how most players have their hands behind their back during in direct kicks. It's so the ball won't hit their hand/arms
Fifa changed the rule so that any contact with an arm is now a foul. It used to be up to the referee's interpretation on whether the arm was in an unnatural position which might show the player's intention to block the ball. The real problem is that they've done this and the much more ridiculous rule about goalkeepers having to stay on the line during penalties up to the exact moment of the kick, while also adding var. There was no var this time but it's var + those two rules that are messing up everything this world cup.

@@Zorn7Thorn I would say it was a good call. Nah, no need to make the comparison. Japan sets the standard for sportmanship in all sporting competitions. Cameroonians had some young part-time players get overly emotional. Happens in the men's game all the time. Plus, they were on the wrong end of some terrible calls, not just that match but the prior ones. THE WORLD is complaining about the refereeing at this tourn but then people get mad when the players get mad about it? Once again, the penalty was the man of the match.
Feel bad for Japan though. They deserved to go further. Am I the only one who is witnessing so many referee errors this world cup?
that penalty was the right decision no error there.
They are just exaggerating with penalties. Too generous to assign them. Match ruined by that decision IMHO.
These instances are just very hard to judge. It's easy to determine (with the VAR) whether someone is offside, but penalties are given based on the referee's interpretation of the rules. People can interpret those rules differently, however, so there will always be an argument.
@@HelloWorld-kt7jk The point is that penalties are really big punishments so you have to be sure when you decide to assign one. Especially in situations like that, you can not have doubts and you should be sure that the foul is clear and really bad, with no possible interpretation. In this case, I think that the arm of the defender was too close to the body and there was no intention to hit the ball with the arm, so giving a penalty for this kind of foul is an exaggerated punishment.
Zach Sawyer Why are you talking like you know the rules of football. Because you clearly don’t.
