Imitation is the best way to start learning creation. You can change your favorite music rhythm to piano music, and then you can feel in life. There are countless styles of people’s life.

Another nice addition to your series!
Tiffani: "You have a lot of stuff!"
Dave: "And you have a piano, curtains, and a light. WOW! I am jealous! I wish I was that unencumbered again in life! I'm going to swish all of this away and get back to an undistracted grassroots state of being!"

Sounds like David Bruce and I have a little in common. I too enjoy "messing around with music", and my need for an outlet is greater than my concern over what people think. I think I would have asked him about an earlier professional confirmation than his first Lincoln Center commission, like maybe from when he was in school surrounded by dozens of other aspiring composers. As a former oboist, I enjoyed seeing the photo of the guy who played those wicked licks on the oboe. I learned a lot from this interview. I may swing by Mr. Bruce's channel a little more often.

Nice to see a fellow Brit on the chat , interesting that opera and drama are some of his greatest influences . Being British and a once professional member of the circus society hear , it reminds me of just how circus was the main funding body which took opera on the road . I ❤️ his room , it brings a kind of " cabernet artist of composers " subject to the table .

Janáček again. I really should watch the opera of the Cunning Little Vixen, since I've read the book.

I enjoyed this very much. I'm now considering reviewing even more of David's videos since my first "professional" band experience was playing in a Kelzmer band. I wonder if David has any posts about the influences, the influence/etc... of Kelzmer?
