I'd stick with the same midfield as the Everton game and put son on the left, Odobert on the right and Solanke up top. Deki is very decent defensively and Newcastle are going to play their classical midblock consisting of the 4-4-2 with a high line. We need to utilize long balls so we get past them and son as an inside forward to receive these balls as quickly as possible so he SHOULD NOT be hugging the touch line. We need to make sure in our build up we have 3 at the back, whether it's Porro as a deep lying play maker (similar to kroos in the euros) or it's Udogie for cover against Gordon. We should 100% be capable of winning this game and there is no excuses for a loss here. Newcastle has been poor lately and have a lot of injuries so I'm expecting a victory.
Vic, Porro, Cuti, VDV, Biss, Bentancur, Madders, Son, Deki as a false 9 Odobert. Solanke fully fit starts up top sliding Deki to rw or the midfield if Lolo isn't recovered from his concussion.
I'd start with the same defence , I'd bring in Bentancur for Kulu/Madison just for more steel and defensive protection then I'd move Son left and Bring in Solanke /Richarlison for Johnson so we can go long if being pressed and then Odobert starts for 1 v1 situations
Newcastle away will really be a test for Tottenham. Last season VdV had a mare of a game at St James' Park last season, but he was amazing against Everton on Saturday. COYS
Ideal starting XI: Solanke, Son, Odobert, maddi, Deki, Biss, Porro, Udogie, VdV, Cuti and Vicario. Maddi and Deki are great at a twin AM role. Biss needs to stay back to help VdV and Cuti defend the counter. Get the ball to Solanke and give him numerous chances to score.
Iam skeptical about a win against Newcastle at St. Jame's Park with this line up you are suggesting, we exactly need the same line-up in the midfield of Kulu, Madders and Bissouma, i think playing Kulu and Maddison both at the edges of the box will be of a massive reward, we can think about bringing on Saar and Gray when we are having a 0:2 lead in the 70s if both Maddison and Kulu are playing the 10, i dont care whom big ANGE brings as his final attackers but Son, Odobert and Dom would work better with Johnson coming in
Keep in mind this game is different from Everton. It's at St. James which is never an easy ground (probably the most intimidating along with Anfield). They have no European football, so the premier league is all they look forward to. This will be our first big test. We can't just keep playing all out attack and not defend like we did at Leicester because this team is a threat on set piece and counter attack with gordon and isak doing bits
It's about time Spurs should beat them but with the right team starting and a4-3-3 and my team to beat Newcastle on their home ground 1-3 are Vicario rb Remaro rcb Dragusin ,lcb Nicky v Der v lb Udogi midfield Bissouma, Bervall and Kulu upfront if Son left Solanke center if fit ore Richarlison, and oddoben bench Sarr , Madderson, Gray , Johnston , Davis , Spenc
If Gordon (Newcastle) play on left Dragusin in rb and Remaro rcb , and play Padro Porro at rw in frontline to fall back with kulu cover right side ,withe Remaro on Gordon ,Gordon will milk penalties with his antics
Yeah, as a Newcastle fan, we’ve had a very shaky start to the season, and we look like a shadow of a former selves, hopefully we finally manage to bring in Guehi though and Eddie Howe can fix our form back.
@@kevm3569 brother That’s what I first thought but after watching the first two games I came to the conclusion that nobody can play his role at least right now. When we played against Leicester Ange sub him and the team lost an orientation we looked awful Bergvall was lively but he didn’t know when to put a cross or manage the last third. Spence was doing the same. Maddison is not being great so far but in my opinion he is irreplaceable at least right now
kulusevski cannot be considered for rw anymore. he just doesnt have the pace to work in ange's system. hes is very good in a central role but cannot play rw anymore
Fully agree, he's actually a great midfielder. Given ange's system where everyone will crowd the opposition's box, he'd end up as a 9 or a winger anyways
I don’t think that Madders was actually that good last week. He dives too much and needs to stop complaining to the refs. I think deki is better defensively than him as well. After his injury, Madders hasn’t been the same.
He's tiny. He gets knocked over like a bowling pin. Sometimes they're excessive and that's why he complains. For me, he has a better touch and releases the ball quicker than Kulu. He can help speed up attacks rather than slow them down. But Kulu may as well be twice Madders size as he doesn't get knocked over or off the ball. He can hold it until other players come into play and stop counters by not giving it up. But there are times where he lingers on the ball too often. He looked a bit more direct against Everton than usual though.
We don't have enough quality players to beat the top six teams. We will loose 5-1. Newcastle will be on fire. Our transfer window has been poor so far. We will finish 7th this season.
I agree with you Kulu over Maddison.

@@JJSpence15 4-3-3 as a formation and 4-4-2 (mostly 4-4-1-1) is their shape when they play a mid block 😑 . Oh good god

It's also important to think about height in this fixture because we were dominated in the air last season during set pieces and in open play
If we get slaughtered on Sunday then we will know how much we have improved since last season

been bad recently there in ange i trust coys
After todays match against Nottingham I'd be shocked if we lost
After watching Newcastle barely get past Nottingham Forest today. Our current spurs team should be able to beat them relatively convincing.

I think you are right but Maddison needs to drop a huge performance he was shocking after his injury last season
