Sad because the use of the mode is wrong.. lol Lydian is not sad. The modes go from lite and airy (happy) and gradually get thicker and darker.. in fact Lydian is one of the more happy modes in comparison.
OR! it could be that weird intro before the drums bass kick every beats before finishing the bar with that cymbal ring, and a badass guitar and bass guitar sycophanted riff kicks it all off.
I think or I should say I am from the way of thought that there is no such thing as minor, and it is only a term used to distinguish a sound and make the concept easy to differentiate within theory. I say this confidently as each mode is related to another in some way, but certain intervals are accentuated to help make that mode distinct. For example: C majors relative key is A minor. It is the exact same notes, but the intervals that would be accented to mark its tonal quality are different from the intervals that would be used to distinguish A minor from C major. As A minor has the b3 b6 b7, emphasis is then placed on the relationship between the 2/b3 and 5/b6 that make the A minor scale distinct from the C major; but essentially it’s the same notes when looked at for face value.
But Mixolydian is happy having hardcore fun. And dorian is the mellow but still happy. Minor is just the hardcore devastation, phrygian is the devastation that makes you suspicious and can feel threatening and locrian can just throw you all over but if you emphasize the tonic around the minor chords, it will be HELL!!!!
It's a kind of let free cry. Lydian is the dreamy type of happiness while Ionian is just the happiness in the form of being touching and relatable.
was this supposed to be sad ?
It makes you cry in a cutting onions sort of way.
Its a brighter sounding mode opposite is happier sound

Nah- The formula for the Lydian mode is: 1 2 3 #4 5 6 7 .. this is E MAJOR… describing this a sad is silly.
Like the vide tho
Tears of joy 🥹
I wept like a baby when you played this.
How will I laugh tomorrow when I can't even cry today?
That’s a hella wise quote
Yea it's relative to E major and C# minor, in my experience many songs in those keys have tried to gauge that emotion in me haha

So super easy to hear through all the distortion, great example
Lydian is sad? It's a major mode.
major doesn’t necessarily equal happy. just depends how you use it
@@sebass337 Really? Wow thanks for that groundbreaking nearly unattainable clandestine information.
@@vertyisprobablydead lol
@@crazymike1706 Are you sure you're not thinking of Locrian? Lydian is just major with a sharp 4.
@@vertyisprobablydead correcto
Gives me a headache 😫
It's so sweet you get all soft
My namesake scale .. he he he
Lydian is a Simpsons mode. Major yet slightly surreal. Tear jerker would be Aeolian or Melodic Minor, or even Iwato. Phrygian may sound sad.
It’s not really a sad mode, it’s more dreamy/psychedelic…
YEAH!!!

Is that a Devin Townsend signature model?
It gives me Hozier vibes
Can you play "Steady Decline" by Prong?
Its a sharp 4th for lydian

Alcest
My problem is I take it as c# minor scale 🙂
Bed of Roses?
Sounds like a 3rd grade school kid rant😳 ( when you play it 😄👊🏾)
It's honest. Sara and Sonic always have always had the affect on me!
For me, I think that the C lydian and/or A dorian because of G major or E minor key, gives us more powerful and wealthier method.
Raise your hand if you’re sick of seeing solar guitars in RUclips videos……
Lydian is not the tear jerk mode.
Yes, Lydian is a happy mode. When you are looking for a tearjerker mode, find a minor mode.
You might cry because it's beautiful
🍔🤗

Don't trust this man
I am watching your stuff already for a while. You're a good Player but your Sound sucks anyhow.
