Solid list. Wish I could have found that Still Austin but unfortunately they are not sold in my state and can only buy their stiff when I travel. Regretting not buying the 2 Penelope 15 yr light whisky. But at store we blinded it against the RY3 store pick 16 yr light whiskey and RY3 crushed it. Over 10 months later looking at my collection of Penelopes feels like a big bottle is missing. It was good just not great compared to RY3 16yr’s version.
we have always said bourbon for us encompasses all of those things. We know the diffence and embrace the difference but, when naming something the Best Bourbon Whiskeys and Ryes of the year is a little too long. Thanks for keeping us honest though....
It’s honestly a great thing that palates are so different. That 1924 isn’t even in my top 50. I’ll say it’s 25% better than the 1920, but there’s no way it’s a $100 bottle. The Maker’s Cellar is outside my top 25 and I think the Heart Release is better, especially a better finish. And the 4G Kelvin VI is not in my top 50 either. Both the Sagamore 9 and Tanager are in my top 10. The Sag is insane value ($79) for the sip you get and the SA for the presentation, the depth of that blend, and the $150 price, which they had to be losing money on. Cheers, fellers 🥃

Nice list! :)
I’m glad you’re enjoying the list!

I personally enjoy all whiskies so I get the additional bottles being discussed. I’d even include scotches in my best of the year. Great list. 🥃🥃🥃
"bourbon of the year list!" First bottle is a Rye lmao

You all haven't had the Sagamore bib 7 year or just left it out. Either way I paid $55 for it and it's amazing. All Sag distillate.
Just picked up 2 of the Sag 7yr BiB. Wow
Tanager is one of the best releases of the year for me
I have not had a single one of these. Living in Minneapolis with a basic bourbon selection.
We did a 10yr tasting and 1924 got smacked by basil hayden, eagle, and Russel’s 10.

Your tastes are pretty interesting.
Shocker I have none of the 20-11 bottles. 😢 Might get lucky and have 1 of top 10 😊
It's fair that you guys disagree on 4RLE, it happens. I'd be curious where it ranked on your individual lists.
I see your lighting finally gave out...😅
ASW !
It's kind of weird without the background music
You mean better, right? The music is so obnoxious
Bourbon of the year is misleading when you’re including ryes, malt whiskey and American Light Whiskey
Mark feel like you might be reaching a bit. Just enjoy the content. Everyone else knew what they meant without having to comment

Why not just call it “Best Whiskey of the year”… planning on including non-whiskey?
@@andrew-onlineman’s got a point…
@@bourbonkingdom that doesn't help your case at all. Just call it "Best Whiskey" then.
