Makers 2023 woooooooo hooooooo are we having cake? 🤣🤣😍😍 OK back to the video .. fantastic idea 😍😍 this would be so good for me to make more leaves silicone Inlays 😍😍 it would have been hard without a top coat as the inlays took up a lot of space so ya cups would have been all wobbly 😍😍😍
I love that you constantly give us good ideas, and actually show us how to accomplish them. Your channel is 100% one of my favorites!! Thank you for all you do!!!
I love the cat, just using the silver with the black showing thrills amazing. I like the top coat and yes you may have lost a tiny bit of the 3d effect but not enough to loose it completely. Another great idea thank you
Hi Wendy I just want to say these are gorgeous and brill idea about the silicone inlays food for thought. Yes the flood coat looks brilliant. Take care. Diane from DF Resins
Wendy, IMO if you are going to use these as coasters, then the top coat is a great idea, but if they are to be used as decoration for wall or shelf unit, then (the cat especially!) might not have required the top coat. Makers choice, I guess. Either way, these are just gorgeous. Thanks for the video, and especially for the inspiration!
I love this idea! Yes, I have hundreds of stamps 😅. But, they're all pretty small for card making. I love the cat. I think I would have left him without the top coat and just sat him out as a decoration. They all look really pretty 😍
Wendy I received my turtle inlay and OMG I'm having so much fun with it. It kills me to cut it because it's so beautiful. I do have stamps laying around. Never used them, so I'll give this a go. Thank you for all the great ideas you come up with ❤
Hello Wendy, per usual another stroke of genius. I make mostly jars and a few figures. I think I may have to try the stamps. The top coat seemed to finish everything off. I do agree with you when you were unsure on weather or not to top coat the cat. It looked as if some of the dimension and fine detail was lost but beautiful just the same. The horse is indeed breath taking. I do hope all is well with you and yours. Til next week, be well.
Hi Forrest 👋👋👋 thank you so much for your very kind comment 😀😀😀 I do think that if these pieces were for wall decoration then no top coat would be better 😀 but as coasters yes top coat wins 😀😀💜 Have a great week ❤️
Not only are the coasters beautiful, BUT HOW GENIUS to make silicone inlays. Never would have thought of that. I love your channel as you think outside the box, and make beautiful art. Thank you for sharing!❤. PS. I love the top coat!
Uhhhhh these are gorgeous ❤ you have so great ideas❤ my brain is running around…. „Ohhhhhh I have some of cute flower stamps!!!!!! So just hurry up!!!“😂 thanks you so much for sharing this Wendy ❤
oh Wendy they are gorgeous! and the finish is super nice! I've used stamps in resin and jesmonite before, but you've taken this technique to another level! And what a brilliant idea to make inlays with the imprint! 👏👏👏! It makes me want to try again! tomorrow I'll upload a video with your fabulous idea of making inlays with the embossing sheets ! Of course, I don't forget to redirect to your channel! Thanks for sharing these brilliant ideas 💙💙
Gahhhhh I have soooo many scrapbooking (done w that lol) stamps that are just luscious! I could never bring myself to get rid of them now I have another purpose for them Thank you Thank you Thank you! ❤❤❤
OMG! I literally have THOUSANDS of rubber stamps of all shapes and sizes! I’m picturing a very shallow rectangle or square piece with all shapes and sizes of my rubber stamps to make one huge silicone inlay piece! Just one big, shallow block of resin with the rubber stamps in it! Take out the stamps and make a silicone inlay any time you want!
Since they are meant to be used as coasters I think the topcoat was important for sealing in the pigments as well as handling the heat from a hot cup. I don’t think you lose the 3D effect, if anything the clear resin amplifies it! Beautiful job, definitely going to try this
Great work again Wendy 👍😍 The horse 🐎 and squirrel 🐿 are my favs 🥰 The others are great as well.🤩 Great idea and worth buying the stamps just to get those great inlays😁. I have loads of stamps and never thought of using them as inlays🤩
Another gorgeous result, but I think I preferred the cat without the top coat, it did seem to loose some of its 3d effect, but still brilliant - and to get inlays from them as well! 😍
I do the same type of thing with fondant molds. I fill them with resin and then make a silicone mold with the resin one that I made. I love the top coating of them. Love them all.
I would have top coated as well, the thought of trying to clean them if the cot anything spilt on them or dusty really did not appeal to me at all. The top coat has not affected the 3D effect so it was a good call. Can be used as coasters for tea/coffee mugs with no fear of them getting dirty 😹😹 Thank you for sharing, I have a heap of Stamps.🤗🤗🤗
I only recently found your channel and am catching up with older vids. I definitely like the top coat. I think they still look 3D, and the cat is my favorite (both subject matter and how it turned out)! Just a couple notes that might help folks trying this technique: Clear stamps can be made either with silicone or photopolymer. Both are meant to be clingy enough to stick to acrylic blocks for stamping, so are likely to stick to the bottom of a smooth plastic, acrylic, or silicon mold. Both materials are somewhat heat sensitive, so you are right that the resin curing temp probably caused the warping of the stamps. True rubber stamps are always opaque, most often are red, and are heat resistant but do not stick to acrylic by themselves. So pick the issue you feel you can solve most easily, rubber not sticking to the bottom of the mold, or silicone or photopolymer warping. Good luck to everyone!
Hi Wendy. Beautiful as always. I love these coasters and I think the topcoat is lovely. For myself, if I'm going to use them as coasters, I like to have a smooth top. They're easier to clean that way too. So from a practical standpoint, I think the topcoat was necessary. And they are beautiful either way.
I think they look great this way. I've made a few things for my daughter that I dusted with powder and they have scratched. Leaving the black with no color over it. So I think evening should have a top coat of some kind lol
Gorgeous! I like the top coat. And I liked you having silicone molds out of your project too. You have such a creative mind. Headed to my window shopping list(I know... an online wish list already hahaha), and there are now some stamps lol Thanks Wendy! Have a great week.
Thank you! Such a wonderful idea I never would have seen because I only watch you and Julie from Pouring Your Heart Out. I think coating them was best. It seemed to sharpen both the colors and detail.
I can't believe it, I bought a load of these stamps ready to try them with resin ages ago but haven't been able to get the resin to do them. You beat me to it, I was going to do a vlog using them. I have just started doing vlogs not very good yet. I go by rosanne's Crafting corner. I know it will take time to get into it. By the way they look brilliant how they are.
Thank you so much Rosanne 😀😀😀 I’ve been there before when I have ideas and then don’t do it and low and behold another person does 😂😂😂 we artists think alike 💜💜😀
@@Toonpish True! I only thought coaster and got stuck with that idea... My first (and so far only) trinket tray hangs on my mother's wall proudly showing off it's air bubbles, dimples from the cheap mould and tiny holes as an artwork.
Hi Wendy! Hard to make a decision 😀 with top coat or without it, both ways the final result is stunning!😍😍 But the ‘no top coat’ option convinces me more after watching the end of video again 🤔😊 yep! 😉👍 Have a great day! 🙋🏻♂️
I do like the shiny top coat on these and I think it will protect the edges of the shapes from any wear and tear when glasses or cups slide around from moisture condensation. What a brilliant idea to make silicone inlays! Thank you for your inspiration! 💜💜💜
I just did this with gnomes stamps. I dusted some with chameleon powders then poured the resin. The round ones I colored after with sharpie paint pens then top coated. Even though my stamps curled I was able to use them again I resin.
😂😂😂 oh always 😀😀😀💜
And yes we don’t want to have a wobbly cup 😂😂
They’re Very pretty both ways, depending on the color scheme, I’d say, …though they’re Definitely easier to dust/wash with a topcoat! 😁
You are not wrong about dusting 🤣 thank you Farial 😀💜
@@Toonpish 😉😊💕
I love them with the top coat. They didn’t lose the 3D effect. 👏🏻❤️
Thank you so much Diana 😀😀💜👍

I say yes! to the top coat 👍 It would protect the color and detail of the stamp!
That is true for sure Erin 😀😀 thank you 💜👍
They are beautiful. I think the topcoat makes them look better, and as coasters it's easier for any cleanup.
As coasters definitely top coat but as art 🤔🤔🤔🤔 thank you Carol 💜😀
I love the cat, just using the silver with the black showing thrills amazing. I like the top coat and yes you may have lost a tiny bit of the 3d effect but not enough to loose it completely. Another great idea thank you
Thank you so much Lyn 😀😀😀💜👍
I concur with just about, if not 100%, everybody that the top coat didn't ruin them at all.
It’s definitely the more popular answer 😂😂 thank you Thomas 👍💜
The cat is my fave. These are gorgeous, Wendy! Thanks for sharing your ideas. 👏🏻😁
Thank you Diana 😀😀😀💜👍
The top coat looks gorgeous… it brings out the shine…

These are just GORGEOUS, Wendy! ❤💕❤ The top coat didn't affect the 3D effect at all! Yes, definitely top coat if making coasters!
Thank you so much 😀😀😀 I just thought of wall art without a top coat but didn’t really explain that 😂😂😂 never mind 😳🤗

Me either 😂😂😂 thank you Linda 💜
They are stunning and I'm gonna be wishy washy and say both ways a beautiful. LOL🤣😂🤣
😂😂😂 nothing wrong with being wishy washy sometimes 😀😀💜
I think they look gorgeous. They are fabulous both ways. You can always make another set and not flood coat it.
That’s true especially now I have the silicone inlays 😀😀😀
