I have been fishing on the White since every 90’s. The guides on river has gotten crazy. I believe if they had captain license that would stop. Arkansas doesn’t require a captains license for a fishing guide plus Covid. Everybody thinks they’re Guide now. It’s hard not to catch fish on the white, but quality fish are different. Good luck and stay warm. Love your videos thanks.
That’s such a sweet fish man. Gotta be a great feeling for you seeing a good angler like that put a real one in the boat. Agree with your statement about the guides. I’ve had “guides” here in Michigan deliberately put an oar stroke right over a fish I’ve been working here in MI and the next night I walk in and find them parked up in the same spot. Post Covid fishing is a different world.
It was awesome. He's definitely caught bigger with me but it's been a few years. It's crazy out there these days. I quit guiding all my favorite hatches because of the boat traffic. Sucks, but it's the new reality
@@alexlafkasfishingI get about a week of gray drakes and a couple nights of early hex in before it gets too crazy and I bail to the small rivers or just go bass fishing, it sucks.
Thanks! It's a 20 foot flat bottom jet boat. It's a locally made and modified from the original boats that were used down here. Supreme boat company makes them. I assume they've got a website you can check them out on
Just because you’re a local doesn’t meant you own the river. Sound like places out west that people want to block whole sections of a river so they can have it to themselves ! Thats nothing but greed. I’ve seen this happen a lot more in last 8-10 years in the Great Lakes tributaries on steelhead.
@michaellennemann7850 one other thing about me coming down. The first 5 weeks I was here, I saw one fly fishing boat. I sat and talked to a shop and they had little to no business in the winters. The white was though of as too big during generation for fly fishermen. The big streamer thing started to change the perception that only a shad kill could provide opportunities in high water winters. With the streamer guys I started we started venturing to the down river stretches that saw very little to no fishing pressure in the winters. This is now winter 17 and a lot has changed in fly fishing pressure through those years but I probably recognize it more here because it went from literally zero, to what it is now.

Love the white content but i wish the content was in michigan instead! I would love to see you chase musky, pike and bass on the fly!
Oh you will, just gonna be a minute. Hopefully ice out will be late March or early April
Please keep fishing the White. No fish in Michigan. Would make super boring videos. Keep the vids coming.
@marcanderson1396 I always do my 2 months a year down here
Big assumption but every time I fish under those scale clouds, the fishing is great,

Awesome catches! What is that boat you’re using?

Ive also brought in a bunch of money for the locals over the years, and continue to do so. It goes both ways
