Love the turkey cross stitch. Practice makes perfect with the sewing machine along with good zipper tutorials. My husband had asked me to put in a new zipper on some good dress slacks once awhile back, and I almost choked! I looked up a British lady who I had been watching her sewing videos, and with one try...did a fantastic job! I think it had to do with her instruction! You have alot of pretty wips!❤ first time viewer here. Thank you.
My first time watching and wow! You have so much energy!! The best thing with your sewing would be to have someone sit down with you and show you a few things. To bad if your Joann’s doesn’t offer that. See if you can find someone and you’ll pick up anything you’ll need.
Hi Betty, great suggestion! I’ll have to see if my Joann’s does that. Last time I had any sewing lessons was probably about age 14 with my mom so I’ve been going off that 😅😅 thank you xoxoxo
Great video. I like a lot of the same designers as you. One tip to make the project bags easier, is to get the YKK Handbag #4.5 zippers. They have a bigger zipper pull and the tape is wider, so it’s easier to sew. After you sew the four pieces of fabric and lining to the zipper, press it, then edge stitch (top stitch close to the seam (1/8”) to keep the fabric from getting caught in the zipper. Also, for the outside edge of the bag, you could try a wider seam allowance 1/2” or 5/8” would be easier than 1/4”.
Oh, my, I absolutely love your videos. Amazing projects. I did post a FlossTube extra explaining how I use double sided basting tape to place my zippers. Keep working on them!
Sew😅no on a machine is just a skill. Keep practicing and you’ll get there. Exciting that you are feeling more confident! Keep up the good work! I find watch different tutorials help pick up different ways people tackle each step.
