Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

i like how Swedish apartments look, minimalist in colors and style. Although i have never had the opportunity to look inside.
10:15 Miljonprogrammet was built between 1965 and 1975. Most of the houses with that 4-5 stories scale and balconies you mentioned has a 1940s to late 1950s style. It's still firmly the folkhems and socialist era though, so very different from Stockholm (or "inner city", as it's called now).

As I thought, Hägersten is NOT a part of the Miljon-program!
Ås in this case means ridge (might indicate eskers too). Hägerstensåsen is a "Stockholm granite" ridge, as per usual polished down by the last ice age.
It's great that they have planned the suburb with good public transportation, green spaces and walkable amenities. It could be further improved by adding street trees.

I'm a naval history geek being born in one of the UK's most historic port cities. The Vasa is breathtaking and I drink my daily coffee from the mug I bought at the museum shop about 8 years ago!

@@letswalkaroundstockholm Thank you for the anwer. I will mention that only a year and a half ago, We WERE going to move to Uppsala or to the "other end", Lund. Both are communities where people we have known for many years, continue to live.
However, entry rules were constantly changing. And they changed - and changed - and changed. Now...there is "no way in" for at least six months to a year until the "politics of a virus" gets cleared up between all those countries. However, we are so impressed with the "quiet serenity" of your films, that IF we make it there....we expect to take you to lunch to thank you for these wonderful films. Happy New Year. :). Antione

In your Description section, spelling Sweden in Turkish is missing a letter. It's not sveç, it's İsveç. Probably you copied this text from somewhere and since İ is a special Turkish word, it didn't copy properly. Now you can copy from my comment and add it tho. 🙂
