@@elizabethchase6528 to be fair to us Clipper fans. You guys (OKC/Indy) at least saw peak PG. We got a hobbled version that went in hiding under pressure.
I'm glad y'all do this. I loved when Tim was on the pod with JJ every week. This is the closest thing to that type of pod and I appreciate the hoop analysis always!
I'm stoked that Legs will be on the call for the Mavs/Nuggets tonight. I only wish that Luka were playing so Legs could provide some constructive criticism on a national stage that might make it's way to Luka's ears and he starts turning his season around.
another awesome episode, i didn't like the adittion of Paskal Siakam to the pacers team, i liked the shooting and the chemestry that Buddy Hield had with Haliburton, and now GS Warriors is showing them what they could've been. Cheers From Brazil! Watched this one drinking a beer
Honestly, I'd consider shutting Embiid and PG down for the rest of the year. With their chemistry and health issues, I think it's unlikely they make a playoff run, and if they did, they'll likely get bounced in the first round. I'd have Embiid and PG focus on recovery, a good fitness program, coming to camp in-shape(Embiid), and a year off would be less miles on Embiid's legs.
As much as this sounds a good idea. This hinges on the idea that a year later Embiid and PG wont be iniured. If they're healthy they have to go for it. Cause who knows if theyll ever be healthy togwther again. Sonewhat like the previous big threes with the Clippers and Brooklyn Nets who would keep saying we'll be healthy later.
@carter9607 There's no guarantees in sports, but a year off is a significant number of miles that won't be added to Embiid and PG's legs, which greatly improved the odds of them getting through a postseason. Especially when you consider not playing back-to-backs and additional "load management." Playing while not 100%, which is what he's doing, is a recipe for causing another injury and having another setback.
Regarding Anthony Mason. I had some book when I was a kid that previewed the upcoming NBA season and there was a page for every player. I will never forget that the page for Anthony Mason had the phrase "Body by Schwarzenegger. Temperament by Jaws"
Pacers. Good vibes is important but it can only get your team so far. Now everyone knows what you are. Now you start to see who can be a star in they roll. Now you see if ur star is really him or not. This is the season yah find out if yah got a building block.
Amen and Eason are really close to starting imo. They really dont need a guy like Brooks anymore, even though he matches their collective mentality. I think they're a go to guy/star away from making noise.
I love me some DNVR, but the utter lack of knowledge about Nuggets history prior to Jokic or MAYBE the Melo trade always floors me. You cats are so smart, but not so much about team history. Yes Legs and Mason came through that year briefly. So did Avery Johnson. Their most consistent player that year was probably Reggie Williams, though Adams and Orlando were the big scorers. 1990-91 - aka the "Enver Nuggets" (because they had no D). Interestingly, in Westhead's second year after drafting Mutombo, they became one of the lowest scoring teams in the league and focused almost exclusively on defense with an utterly anemic offense (Adams and Orlando were gone and Mahmoud didn't blossom until Westhead left after the '91-92 season).
I don't think the watched the entire game against the Grizz. I don't blame them, but the last 4 minutes of the game looked like the Embiid we typically see. And folks need to stop looking so deep into his body language. Some folks just look like how they look. He said he will be better, he played better, and so now he has to continue to play better. The players know who he is, so body language and how it looks to the public literally doesn't matter once you start winning games. They aren't losing games because of Embiid's body language. To me this is all overblown. And once they start winning again, guess what? The vibe will change. There's two leaders on the team. Embiid and Maxey. Embiid is more of a moper, Maxey is all smiles. But you know Embiid is engaged when he starts hedging on screens, boxing out, trying to block shots, and diving on the floor, cheering for teammates. Can't really look too deeply into how his face looks. Remember the Knicks series, his face was the same but you know he was giving his all.
Embiid got an attitude issue. 4 x he flopped his hands at his own players. To me its like degrading for teammates. He stood did not attempt to be assertive D wise. He did not want to play, very evident
Embiid has long put up big sciring numbers on losing teams. Hes selfish and then uses his stats to claim he is doibg his bit. Look at his lifetime rebounds, assists and blocks. He could change his game and have lower scoring stats, be less ball dominant but the team win more. He won't because it's all about him
Haliburton hasn’t been close to the same since coming back from the hamstring injury on 1/8/24 way too early which has lead to back issues (and he’s wearing a black back heating pad thing everytime he goes on bench and even rides bike at times, plus he’s always grimacing). 43% 3P% 2yrs at college 41% 3P% in NBA first 3.5yrs (225 games) and 61% TS% all elite PRE 1/8/24 injury (21 & 10 APG on 49/40/87 All Star in 22-23 and Top5 MVP candidate in 2023-24 first 34 games 25 & 13 APG on 50/40/88), but since coming back from injury too early (for All NBA 65 game min $40 million) 31% 3P% & 55% TS% which is one of worst shooters in NBA. The pre/post injury %s are DRASTIC AF! It’s clearly related to his back (most of misses are short). I just pray he can get healthy again. Pacers need to shut him down until he’s truly 100%. Worst case scenario we luck into Cooper Flagg or Ace Bailey (we’ve never had a #1 pick in our nearly 50yr NBA history…had one in ABA in 60s).
I think it’s messed up that Legler didn’t know Mase passed away. I gotta admit I lost a little respect for him for that. He’s been gone, respectfully, for years now.
Legler is on jet after jet show after show a millionaire who literally knows thousands of human beings plus he said he passed away and was mostly sure of it so stop being dramatic
We all judge people based on different things. To judge someone on their confidence level of whether past athletes have passed is probably worth being introspective about in order to process some issues from the past. Best to you.
Maxey was an All-star last year. I don't think Sixers would even consider the trade because Maxey is their franchise cornerstone now not Embiid. Maxey on the Nuggets would be tough though. MPJ is better than Kelly Oubre, but on the Nuggets he would fit in seamlessly with his shooting, size, and athleticism.
Easily the best basketball podcast episode I’ve listened to all year. Love the chemistry and energy you guys bring to the conversation
Did your year start 2 days ago?
Absolutely no one even comes close really

a little bit gay, but it´s ok

Most underrated nba podcast in the game
Yall need to be in person more. It just hits different
you´re girlfriend said the same
Great show guys. Conversation flowed much better in an in-person setting. Perfect mix of banter and intelligent basketball analysis
facts
Tim Legler should have dropped the Mic 🎤 after that rant on 11minutes …
Spitting nothing but facts

YES LEGS!!! Finally someone in the media calling Embiid out on his shit attitude and being the ultimate whinge
Finally? Almost every sport outlet does it at the moment, lol..
He's constantly honest and candid in a way that makes him unique in sports media
Holy shit! Legler in Denver!
Love to see it
Legs answered my question about what notes he takes!! thanks!
Awesome in person show, this was awesome, super enjoyable
great to see this episode done in person. Does the bar have a massive screen? we need Legs to do his touchscreen magic on the pod. lol
We've now come so far in the Zoom era that in-person energy is a differentiator. Best pod in the biz.
Extra good show! You guys have even better chemistry in person. Legs to Denver!!
Wow, Legs at the bar?? Coolest episode ever
Loved this in-studio show!! Great stuff, Thanks
Legler is a TRUE pro. His eye contact with the camera is all pro
upload the vid of Legs drinking Rakija now!!!!!!!!
Damn I searched for this video and it came out only 13 sec ago. Talk about telepathy!
THANK YOU TIM!!! BOUT TIME SOMEBODY SAID IT NATIONALLY!!!
What an awesome episode, loved the energy and the chemistry.
Keep it up guys, you make NBA analysis even better
Clipper fans tried to warn sixer fans about PG. They wouldn't listen

okc.... Pacers
Media is completely disingenuous with PG. Every new team he's on is "the new best Big 3" even though he sucks every single time.

Nuggets will trade Murray and MPJ for Maxie and Oubre

There's this thing called the 2nd apron which would make that trade unlikely. Philly can't take on that much salary.
