      Definitely!!! Calming enough I catch myself dozing at times🤭. Not bc they are boring but bc they are relaxing and everyday life stresses are put out of mind so the brain can chill out...😊😔

      I do woodworking in my spare time, building furniture pieces, and watching this man do what he does is so inspiring. I learn something new with every video he produces.     Ahti, I cried. 🥺your work is so amazingly beautiful. I'm an old woman now, and so many of my beautiful pieces have gone to the dump because no one wanted to restore them. Thank you for caring 💝

      I agree with you 💯 percent!! Very solid point! Having the knowledge and the tools to restore these fine pieces, is a great recipe, to brand it back to beauty and a new life, instead of using it for firewood, or discarding it for other means.

    From trash to treasure, it turned out beautifully. The 3d flower was exceptional, you could sell those for a handsome price.

      @@mikemactavish1665 I would still consider it the same cabinet. A lot was replaced, but more was left original than was replaced. And yes, it was beautifully done❤️🤗🐝

      @@ATRestoration and indeed that i have learned, though in another profession, I am a Chef, I can walk into my store or refrigerator or freezer, without any light. and i know where things are. Because i am also teaching my young Chefs and Cooks this way.

      I thought that too, I believe it falls under the Ship of Theseus paradox.But is not like it could be used the way it was, it would probably end up disposed, so anything done is better then nothing

    Ahti, you are truly a master craftsman!! Any fool with a laser engraver and computer could have re-created that flower design, but you carved the entire thing BY HAND!! That, sir, is true dedication to your craft. Another beautifully rescued and restored piece! Well done! ❤❤❤

      The people with lasers and CNC's are enjoying hobbies, too. Let's avoid denigrating anyone that finds pleasure in woodworking, regardless of the tools they choose or are able to master. Those "fools" may develop a greater interest in other woodworking projects and skills and help rebuild a flagging interest in the craft. Let's not discourage anyone, even those can't figure out how to use a computer. 😉

    Not having a cabinetmaking background, I always learn something new from your videos, Ahti. I didn't know there was any such thing as bile soap or gall soap as it is known here in Australia. It's the restoration techniques you use, that fascinates me. Then the payoff of seeing the restored article. It really is a treat.

    I'm happy that this piece was put into your hands for the restoration job.
    You carried on "Business as Usual" by completely remaking it vs cleaning it up & restraining, etc...
    You ALWAYS go that extra mile with the attention to detail that you give your work. You mentioned 12 man hours spent remaking this but that's not what counts. I could spend 12 hours on the same project & it wouldn't have been close to what your final product is.

    WOW...
    this is beyond restoration. It is cabinet making and high craftsmanship all together. 75% of the cabinet was rebuilt. I was amazed not only by the expensive equipment but from the talent just carving by hand. I would have not known what to do and resorted to paint it.

    I've worked with several wormy pieces of wood and furniture restoration and found wood hardener great for stabilizing the wood and keeping the authenticity of the pieces. The look of the worm holes adds interest.

    My late father was a Carpenter/Joiner. I used to love watching him in his workshop, the smell of wood in the air. Even now, many years later, if i smell wood it takes me back to those lovely days, times spent watching him. Thank you for video. Looks amazing. ❤

    That made me really happy seeing the doors recreated with such care and artistry. I presume this client is a vampire since they wanted it red this time, I hope they do a better job at keeping the wood worms away the next hundred years. :)
