I grew up in Montana and moved to West Virginia last year. I had never even heard of a ramp until recently, and we just discovered a hillside in the woods behind our house totally covered in them! I’m so excited to cook with them! Thanks for the video!
Of course… maybe you can find some morels out your way!! Happy foraging
Simple, to the point, extremely informative, excellent editing. Great video man, thanks!
Appreciate that
Last spring, my husband and I went to a resturant that does a lot of farm-to-table ingredients. Our server told us of this off-menu steak that included a ramp pesto. It was off menu because she foraged the ramps herself and supply was limited. I love a good steak and always down for pesto, so we went for it. I'm telling you, that pesto was *everything*. My husband was actually excited and said we (me) have to figure out how to make it. And now that spring has returned, I'm about to explore the woods behind my house to look for ramps 🤣🤣
Haha that’s awesome… ramps are awesome.. I have another video called the pesto manifesto that like no one watched but it’s one of my favorite videos. Check it out for some pesto inspiration
I have had ramps on a pizza in Asheville, NC and ever since, I have been very curious about them. I grew them for a bit in Morrisville, NC but the rabbits got to them in the spring and decimated every last one of them. Appreciate your recipes, I would love to try them.😊
👊🏼👊🏼
I like frying them in fried potatoes.. it’s delicious and also frying them with bacon as well
Real smart
Rampin' up the cooking game! Noice👏
Drumroll! 👍👊
Look for the red stem on the ramps.
Just find some ramps in CT. And looking how to cook
Never heard of them tell now. 🤔🤔🧐🧐
Better late than never!
You pickle the leaf? I thought people pickled the bulbs?
Yeah I just didn’t for this. More common to remove white part and pickle yes
Love ramps but they’re insanely expensive in the city. Not worth the price.
No way. So plentiful out in the woods, more so than other stuff. Not any more though they’re probably done this year
