In 2019 this chain of trust started to degrade and systematically disintegrate for me personally. To the point where by the end of 2020 at the peak of the solar-winds incident around mid December it made me question my sanity. The trust had been so eroded that the operating systems of all my devices where where usurped for some unknown reason. Down to the level of my Sonos sound components. For three days everything i did was constantly being narrated and let me tell you dolby atmos and spatial audio will make jt sound like its coming from inside your head. I have often wondered how many other people went through the same thing. If this resonates with anyone reading this comment, you will find your neither alone or as crazy as you have been fearing. Rob, how do you say thank you to someone that so calmly and clearly lays out the case i have been unable to articulate for 3 years now
It's hard to believe that any program you install on windows can just install a fake certificate on your computer. Shouldn't windows have some kind of auditing for this or a protected area?

The problem with the trust scheme as provided by the public certificate infrastructure is that you have to trust the players involved.... do I need to say more?
A good example of this, Dell computers have built in bios backdoor that can be activated by a windows built in back door on windows upgrades. I got attacked like that by the US government, nothing to see there, I just let it happen, when they knew I knew, they cleaned it off on the next windows upgrade because they did not want it exposed, whoops.
are you sure it wasn't a Downfall exploit or heartbleed if you use zen? mid December 2022 I noticed a similar thing but on my work laptop, my 2 smartphones and my 2 desktops. none of them use the same internet. my laptop was attacked during a forced windows update. BSOD , IME cleared out along with tpm keys. and bios was injected with something malicious. I'm a Swede though so have no clue why me haha.
In your previous video, is it possible to opt out of the mesh network surveillance? ...by opening up your phone and removing the bluetooth chip/antennae apparatus?
Good luck with that... not turning your $1000 **PHONE MADE OF GLASS** into a brick. I do think the best indicator of the human race getting more stupid by the day is thinking that **GLASS PHONES** are a great idea.
You ask them where in your contract of employment it's written down that you are expected to do so. I work for an American company in Europe. A couple of years ago, an in-country managing director sent a broadcast email out asking everyone to talk about our company in positive terms on our social media accounts to give us as much good publicity as possible. I politely explained to him in a reply (that he wasn't expecting) that I don't use social media anyway - but if I did, as a cyber-security consultant within his company, I consider it poor security and privacy process to mix with my social life and working life anyway - in the same way that I only do work-related stuff on the laptop the company gives me and never and private or social stuff on it. I also explained that whilst I care very much about the quality of work I do and I am always professional in my dealings with clients, I am not paid enough to act as a 24x7 advocate of my company - the other side of that being that I never talk negatively about my company in public either, even though at times it would be very easy to do so. "Never mix business with pleasure" is a good philosophy.

If that's your real name that you are using on here then you haven't even "passed the entrance exam" to enrol in further privacy training from Rob. And with that in mind, if you can't even carry the privacy basics, why would I even give this scenario you describe any kind of attention or analysis?
Because they like to do things to rub it in my face like shut my laptop off, turn the channel on my TV to an unassigned channel where it's all fuzzy/stactic on the screen when I get home (I've always left it on when I leave to work) And they shut off my Wi-Fi security camera, all without entering my home (them days anyway) 😡
Rob we were just talking about this on my live show so I am showing this to my audience now. I will promote your channel.

The clarity you provided on how these trusted certificates work is much appreciated. Thanks for you work
Thank you for making these videos and keeping everyone updated.
Dear Brax, great video.
To add on, I'm pretty sure the Linux hacker tool to remove a victim's SSL (or TLS) is called sslstrip
I find it funny when people try to impress everyone with their security knowledge but appear to still be using their real name when they post them.
ROB you are the best IT GURU on the whole internet Br

Great video! Thanks for taking a deep dive into certificates.
Top notch useful as always, thanks again Mr Braxman 👍

Love your video's man!!
Been chatting about this with many different people people don't realize how dangerous this is.
Keep educating the masses man ..

Windows is part of the problem not the solution. Windows collect and sell your data have government backdoors.
In the store it says it is made for earlier version of Android. Mine is already old, so not sure what is happening there

Is There an Anti virus software you recommend Rob ? The least invasive one
Yes, it's called Linux.

...which as I demonstrated have already destroyed our trust in certain cases
Steve Gibson used to joke the a Chinese Post Office had a trusted certificate
How do we know if we only know, what we are being told?
Thank you so much for your work!
Thanks, but his do I know my phone is hacked. What of detecting secret cameras and transmitters?

Have you done a video about Sekur?
Hacked SSL certificates in the back end of browsers 🎯
It is almost like a new back door to our browsers lately, for sure.
Who did. How. And why
Great job Rob
