I got to go to Disneyland last year for my 42nd birthday. It renewed my belief in magic, and made me feel like a kid again. Thank you, Walt, for sharing your dream.
Thank You sir, you have truely made my day, my week, and put a memory in my heart, for i love disneyland and walt disney for all the happiness that they have brought to the entire world. So once again thank you and good day
You are absolutely correct. I wish I could have met him too. I am often made fun of for my love and passion for Disney and Disneyland, but I am one that holds what I call the Peter Pan Attitude, I dont wanna grow up. Even as mosy my age have grown out of Disney and Mickey Mouse, being there often brings tears to my eyes. It really is a magical place!
My Dad was the 29th employee hired by Walt Disney himself as Manager of Admissions at Disneyland. His name is Curtis Lineberry and he and my family and I were at Disneyland for the opening. Great Memory!
This man is my hero! I am very sad that I never got to meet him butttt.. he made the best place on this earth. it is my first home :). they should make up a movie about this man! :D
@MayPhoenix Awww thats so wonderful! Disneyland has that special power that makes you feel like a kid and live your dreams of being a princess or pirate!
Here is an updated version of the dedication speech: "To all who come to this miserably crowded place, welcome (provided you have enormous amounts of money). Disneyland is NOT your land. Here the few aged cast members who haven’t resigned in disgust, relive fond memories of the past and here youthful cast members savor the challenge and promise of angrily screaming at resort guests who happen to walk the wrong direction in Tomorrowland. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created other heartless and purely for profit companies such as Exxon, Walmart, and IBM, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration and lots and lots of money for the stockholders who do not care at all why Disneyland was built in the first place."
The reverend who spoke was actually Walt Disney's nephew, but Disney balanced the Protestantism with the three military chaplains representing Catholicism and Judaism, as well.
Ronald Reagan in 1955????..."Who is the President of U.S. in 1985..Ronald Reagan???...and the VC..Jerry Lewis???" (Doc Brown in "Back to The Future") Just kidding!!, just kidding!!!..not really in serious, great document..THANKS FOR POST THIS VIDEO!!

Does anyone know where I can buy/legally download this video (or a video of Walt's speech)?
Me too!
The clock on the train station says it was 4:45 in the afternoon...
@sonicedhoedown1 Walt Disney is one of my fave men too, but my replacement for Ronald Reagen is Stan Lee.

God bless all who love God, Yvhv, and I add Yeshua Jesus the Christ.
I really want to say something about the lack of black people, but that would undermine the actual coolness of this video.
