What Did I Find INSIDE my Rare Plant?

- GROW FASTER NOW 🤡
I promise I’m not always this rough with the roots but once I started to remove the plug there was no turning back. Now you can 100% leave the plug if you want! This specific plug contains micronutrients to develop the roots. For me, I prefer a much chunkier substrate.
As for propagating corms, I’m using Solum from @modernaqua - it’s natural soil blended with volcanic ash - typically used in aquariums but works so well with corms (🔗 is on my 📄).
My dream is to have a field of variegated frydeks. What’s one plant you can never have enough of 🙃

And it won't let me copy. I have to write down the website on paper like a Neanderthal 😅
@@shmpoochif you have an iPhone take a screenshot, go to your pictures and the text recognition will let you open it like a link. Hope that helps!!!
That walk gets me every time. Probably because I have the same walk when I get new plants in the mail😂
Planty people know 😂
I glt excited with you when you found that corn 😆
HAHAHHAA celebration
Corm? 😂
@missyflutter5562 yup, I meant that. The keyboard corrected it.
Tho, it did look like corn -
💚🪴💚
Love to see the progress!!!
Will do!!! ❤
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow love the progress sharing so far, too!!!!
Your videos are so much fun to watch 😅
Aw im so glad you like ❤
It blows my mind how whenever I buy a new plant, u come across my feed talking about the same plant! I was so excited about my variegated frydek, and I still pick it up and check out its sweet little leaves (it's still quite small) ❤
We are living PARALLEL LIVES 👯
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow 🎶Do dO Do dO Do dO Do dO🎶
For my variegated frydeks, they don’t like high humidity once the leaves form 😅 I’ve removed it from it’s humidity dome and just let it sit on top of my desk that is located at my east-facing window and it’s doing quite well. I live in east Texas and I wouldn’t consider where I live as having much humidity at all.
That’s really good to know! I love hearing other people’s experiences and seeing what works. I’ll need to test it out.
I love watching your videos, you are so funny!! 😂 Only problem is while you are talking so fast, i find myself holding my breath, no idea why, it just always happens when i listen to you.😂😂😂😂😂😂
HAHAHHAHAHA breathe!!!
I once ordered plants that came with those plugs and didn’t remove them
Then the root rot happened💀
Oh nooooo. It’s a risk! Some people grow plants fine with them. I am not one of them 😂
That root crack got me ☠️☠️☠️
It’s a fitting name haha
what is it thooo🤔
I am screaming in appreciation of its beautyyyy ❤
Hahahahaha me toooo
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Love ur vids
Thank you ❤
Haha almost all plants come with those plugs already. At least in Europe. I always remove them. Idk somehow the thought of having this spongy thing holding my plants roots drives me crazy.
Yeaa, My starter plant had one , I’m repotting it soon. I was debating on removing it or not. Probably will
Really! That’s interesting. In the US I think some growers are more prone to use than others.
I’m really curious what you do or use to achieve the high humidity in your IKEA plant cabinet. Do you use a humidifier or something else? I can never get humidity higher than 45% in mine! Although, I have fewer plants in mine than you do. Help! 😅
More plants!!! I don’t use a humidifier. It’s weatherstripping and lots of plants.
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow Perfect! I can definitely do that because “More Plants!” is my middle name!
Thanks for that! I wondered it those were sponge plugs. Sadly it seems I get them in plants with thin delicate roots and cant separate it very well. 😢
It’s hard. But if your plant is growing well you can leave then
Can you please put the actual name of "root crack" in the video? The links not clickable and I just want to read about the product but idk what it is. Sorry RUclips won't cooperate
Myco inoculant. If you go to my LinkTree from my channel you’ll find the clickable version
Can you show us to grow corns in a different substrate please
I have tons of corm videos on my page! My go to is always stratum. I’ll share soon
Ok thankssss
What greenhouse cabinet are you using? I’m in love!
Baggebo from ikea!
Do you make vid showing the product u use especially the soil mix, fungi treatment or root growth/treatment product..? Please.. tq in advance. Luv all your videos.. ❤❤
I do!!! They’re all on my channel I use those all frequently
wow, it’s gotten huge!!
It haaaaaaaas 🎉
“This isn’t bad of itself and OMG THATS ANOTHER CORM” 😂
😄😄
Cheers, do you always transplant with roots only or leave soil on the root ball too?
I’m not always this severe when repotting. I don’t feel the need to completely clean the roots of the old soil (unless the existing substrate is bad). This plant could have just stayed in its plug but I personally don’t like plugs because the moisture level in the plug is not the same as the moisture in the surrounding soil.
@@ohtheplacesyoullgrow thank you ! Love your channel 👍🪴
😍😍😍
🥰
I just got my first varigated Frydek two weeks ago. I can't wait to find random corns to propagate. I found a few attached to the main stem but I was too nervous to pry them off when I moved it to pon. I heard that not every corm will be variegated. Do you know if that's true?
Variegation is never guaranteed! like how kids are not guaranteed to look like their parents 😅
Thanks for the reply!
New plant mama here. What is soil crack? I recently repotted Philodendron Brasil is, in plant shock as it was repotted.
It’s a Myco inoculant! It’s linked in my LinkTree or you can screenshot the links from my description and click from your photo
Where do you get your soil?
All the stuff I use is on my LinkTree from my channel. Sadly I can’t drop links in shorts anymore.
Can you tell us from where you buy rare plants ?
I have them linked in my LinkTree from my channel!
I grew some Fescue in a cup at home
Do all alocasia produce corms? Xx
They sure do! But you may not find them in all of your Alocasias. Some make more than others while others grow forever without seeming to produce corms.
I can neaver find cheap variegates plants like can u send a link for somthing under 20 pls
just a curios question what is root crack. Am I the only one here who doesn't know.
I hate those sponge plugs.
☠️
Link for the cabinet please
It’s all in my LinkTree from my channel
Also - can anyone help me with good root crack that I can buy in the uk? Dx
