- In this video we visit North Williamstown, a small but charming station on the Williamstown line in Melbourne's west. We start the video by seeing some weekday footage where we see various Comeng, Siemens and X'trapolis EMU's. We also take a look at the Ferguson Street level crossing which is will be grade separated by 2022. This will see North Williamstown station rebuilt sometime in the future.
Situated nearby is the Newport Workshops and the Downer Rail factory, which is building Melbourne's new High Capacity Metro Trains. We catch a glimpse of the new trains under construction, including unit #11 (which I believe has since been transferred to Pakenham East depot where the new fleet will be based).
We then see some weekend footage where this time around we only see some three-car Siemens trains. The Williamstown line operates direct trains between Williamstown and Flinders Street on weekdays, but only as a short shuttle service between Newport and Williamstown on weekends.
Date: February & March 2020.

13:10 Oh damn one of the headlights are broken
2:13 that sound awesome!
Good video. I like the motor sound of those comeng EMUs. Reminds me of the 2nd generation mark 3 emus in UK
6:00 What are those beeping sounds from the crossing?
That would have been the alarm for the pedestrian gates.
@@ThebusofdoomFSX Oh cool!
I’ve been told the mayor of the shire in Williamstown has asked for this line to be singled so they could build off it! But the transport minister may as well have laughed in his face. Terrible idea
Very impressive :)
I hope the guy at 2:06 made it!
Surprisingly he actually did :o
The xtrapolis motor fans sound like the ones on the British class 390
I love ur 390s
I'm very sorry that I missed out, I will make it next time
Most transport as barely any people in which is good because of COVID 19
Why don't they just convert the section Newport to Williamstown into light-rail (just like 96 and 109) instead of wasting millions of dollars rebuilding the station when passenger numbers on this section are very low compared to the rest of the network?
