It's pretty crazy how much Mark Collie looks like Johnny. Especially at the point and time this was made. Although I really liked Walk The Line, it would have been interesting to see Mark in a full length film.
Mark sounds like Johnny. This is perfect. I grew up in TN around all the craziness of country music, and Mark has captured Johnny... the pills, the alcohol, the cigarettes, the vicious temper. The stories I could tell! :)
I saw this short film when it premiered at the Taos film festival in 2000. I was so impressed that I managed to get a VHS tape of it before leaving town.
So glad this has been made available. I saw it on the iFilm website years ago and had looked for it ever since the termination of that site. Great to see it again.
@@steverogers406 Mark actually knew Johnny. He could have added nuances to the role that Joaquin never could. And at the time the movie was made, Mark would have been just the right age for the role. And in case you didn't know, Johnny actually wanted Mark to do the role. But the money behind the filming wanted a real actor...and waited til Johnny was gone before filming.
He nailed the look perfectly and his acting was on point. My only complaint would be his singing, Johnny was always more low and somber. But man Collie knocked it outta the park.
I always like johnny cash the man in black, When i was 15 years old i love one of his songs i like to listen was: In your mind A satisfied mind Gods gonna cut you down I Won't back down Solitary man Sunday morning coming down I was there when it happened Give my love to rose Five feet high and rising Cry, Cry, Cry Home of the blues Big river Hey porter Dont take your guns to town It aint me babe (ft june carter) Long legged guitar pickin man (ft june carter) I got stripes Man in black Ring of fire Jackson (ft june carter) I walk the line Folsom prison blues Ghost riders in the sky And now i love that song too I still miss someone
I STILL SAY Mark should have had the role of Johnny in I Walk The Line. I mean, this little video is proof that he was literally born to play the role. It was still a fairly good movie, but I really DON'T LIKE Joaquin Phoenix...no matter what I see him in.
I agree that this guy plays Johnny better than Joaquin Phoenix did, but to be honest atleast Joaquin sounded closer to Johnny than this guy. Although this guy acts more similar to Johnny cash, Joaquin sounded closer and better than this guy. Also I thought walk the line was an amazing movie, I don't see why people where disappointed. To me this guy plays Johnny better, but like I said Joaquin is a better singer.
vividly played jonny cash. good job, mark.

Finally! I've been wanting to see this ever since he was in that Punisher movie. Thank You!!!!

Every single time you sing Johnny Cash. . . Mark, you sound more and more like him.
This is insane, it's like watching a documentary. So good. Congratulations.

Good lord! Just got blown away!

this is raw and captured JR better than " I walk the line". IWTL was almost Disney compared to this
I just watched this after listening to him and Tim McGraw
No idea Mark did this film. Excellent work. On his part
Mark Collie should have Played Johnny Cash in Walk the Line. He and Reese Witherspoon would have done a kickin job.
Joaquin did a fantastic job, Collie would have been too old

@@capismama2922 What are you talking about? Johnny Cash had Joaquin Phoenix come over to his house and he was 100% supporting him for the biopic lol

Best actor at independent film festival. He's the MAN FROM WAYNESBORO!

In your mind
A satisfied mind

It aint me babe (ft june carter)
Long legged guitar pickin man

I got stripes
Man in black
Ring of fire
Jackson (ft june carter)
I walk the line
Folsom prison blues
Ghost riders in the sky
And now i love that song too
I still miss someone
Well done!
Very well done!
It's not for nothing but if it has resemblance to the man in black, it is a great tribute to a legend like Cash.
Excellent:)
never seen this, I was very disappointed in walk the line movie but this is like watching Johnny.
This is more like the real Cash .
He plays a real good CASH. Phoexix and Witherspoon were better known Actors. So commercially more a success. But Collie plays much better Cash.
I wonder if Johnny himself ever saw or was aware of this film
this actor would have been a whole lot better than that other guy from Walk The Line
Mark and Reese would have been DYNOMITE

He looks more like Johnny Cash than Joaquin Phoenix!
Rhonda Bland And sounds more like him to boot! What the fuck, Fox?
