I genuinely believe Jackson is going to end up making a lot of reactionary pundits and fans who continue to mock him look very silly. 17 goals and 6 assists last season at only 22, including 14 goals and 5 assists in the Premier League. Those numbers would be much better if his finishing had been more clinical last season season. But if you actually watch him play with no agenda or bias the talent and potential are very clearly there. He low-key had an excellent match against Wolves yesterday with a well taken goal and an excellent assist to Palmer.
It’s also very possible, he works harder at every aspect of his game but somehow fails to cultivate dat killer striker instinct or shot. It’s quite possible he would end up like Sturridge, Loic Remy. All of them had more striking capabilities than him. Like Murdryk, we all wish he betters Drogba, but we have 2 also look at d progress he’s making. In terms of striking d ball, there hasn’t been any improvement. Yet one can’t deny his effort. I don’t believe 4 a minute Lewis thinks Jackson will come good, if he doesn’t think Felix is good enough for Chelsea.

Also Jackson takes no penalties for Chelsea unlike Haaland and other strikers. If Jackson had taken penalties he probably would have hit 20 goals in premier league last season and people would be saying what a great season he had and ignoring the misses. Football is funny like that

You still have the same players and staffs. You can only make predictions based on recent facts. It's only a prediction. Keep clean sheets in a few upcoming games and then their predictions would change.

That's not how it works. Improve first by keeping clean sheets, then you can earn the right to be called the best.

Chelsea finished in the top 6 could have finished top 4 and was in two finals last year. Its not that much of a stretch that they could do better this year with a more experienced squad and a manager willing to focus on a small squad allowing him to develop a pattern of play.

Defensive organization is something that can improve over the course of a season. I think Sanchez is good enough for where Chelsea are right now, and so are the fullbacks but the center back pairing need to get better. Maybe Tosin instead of Fofana next week?

I'm a Chelsea fan. I tend to agree that our defence is a bit of a shambles. It would appear that we'll have to score three or four goals to win a game. I'd have to say top six at best.
I dont know if pundits are paid to make unverified claims. Jackson is verified by his XG to miss big chances. And this does not change my position that he gives a lot to the team and would be great for chelsea someday (If chelsea fans are willing to wait for someday). However, if you want to challenge for top 4 this season and potentially win titles, Osimhen as your number 9 is a no-brainer. Last season the media and pundits went on and on about how we are misfiring because we dont have a world class 9. This season we want to get Osimhen (a world class 9), the media is talking about 'if we need him?'. If the deal falls through, the media and pundits will go 'How have you spent all that money and not bought a 9'. Honestly, i hope pundits are paid well enough to look silly. Wait till when Chelsea wins the league and see them shift the goal post very fast
