Zoom pedals surprisingly have amazing tone. I had a Zoom G7 1ut and was able to get the exact tone for lamb of god using the recto and tube screamer models in the pedal. It was one of the most accurate patches I have ever made using multi effects and I use a line 6 Helix floor now.
I say, the Zoom G-11 is above and beyond the competition. The UI is the best. The layout corresponds and mimics the pedal/controls/input commands. I have others but the G-11 is always the go-to. Size to weight. Power to weight.
Hope it's not too late for New Year Greetings. Happy New Year Gabor and Alex All the best wishes to you and your families . Always Rooting for this channel
Too bad for the short effects chain only 9 including amp and cab, do you think that in the future with a possible update they increase the effects chain?
Very nice video, but those patches seem too complicated for me. I want to create 5 or 6 patches to play a very versatile set; let's say a 'coverband playlist': clean, blues, funky, some heavy stuff. I've spent many hours tweaking, but I'm not satisfied at all with the results. Where do I start? Which amp of which style? Which effects do I absolutely need for each style? Thanks!
My two cents - the Zoom created custom amp sims are better than any of the ones that are trying to replicate an existing amp model. For example, I like REDLOOM for clean sounds more than any of the Fender Deluxe Reverb, Twin Reverb, or Fender ToneMaster amp sims. Also, for how much people bash the presets on these things you can learn a lot about optimizing effects chains by using your favorite presets as templates. Also, #1 tip with this product - if something about the sound just seems off on a particular preset, make sure cab mic is turned ON. That solves the problem for me half the time. Hope something in there is helpful
So own this and it has been great mixed in with a Strymon + EHX backline. Not expensive, much underrated amp sims, although some rubbish IRs and no parallel processing. I understand there are some very good prices available on this now. The main thing with this product is the quality of the sounds ( better than G5n), and the incredible workflow. Is the centre of my (quite large) pedalboard.
So i got the Zoom G11 recently , but i need to know if i can assign a patch for each stomp switch ? Or if i can only scroll up and down through patches by way of the bottom pedals with the arrows? I mean , if i set up 5 completely different patches and i need to switch from patch 1 to patch 5 , why would i want to click 5 times to get there? Even the G92tt i have has 5 stomp switches on the bottom that i can assign patches to and instantly switch between them.
This devices are underrated. Zoom sounds better as Helix 😆 as least for me. I sold Helix and bought G11 yeah I think it s not optimized yet. Hopefully with the next updates. It sounds to much compressed for me especially the strings e, b, g
Here's my take on all things Zoom [guitar fx related]: 1 - Zoom have always been - for the most part - the underdog when it comes to their products. Coupled to this, an almost non-existent publicity to their stuff. 2 - Although most people don't know this, their Rack FX have been used to a great extent in many records and still have a place in some studios [Trent Raznor, Marylin Manson, etc]. Specially in Electronica music. 3 - People also assume "zoom = cheap plastic crap" because at a time when shit was expensive, zoom put out multi-fx units at a very affordable price [and aren't made in USA]. They still do. But they also have "proper" stuff. But for better or worse their stuff became iconic and is still being used. Some of their older pedals and racks are somewhat desirable and colectible. 4 - Zoom also tries to do things differenty [by offering the same]. A floorboard with valves, a Z pedal, analog dirt... BUT - and here's the catch - their products appearance is just useful. Not pretty, not edgy, just useful. 5 - When Zoom decides to properly clone an fx, they nail it. But when they drink that sake... 6 - That said, whoever at Zoom had the brilliant idea of designing the G11 the way it is, did it for the lulz or he was way too high on the coke he sniffed from his racing car's dashboard. This has to be one of the Fugliest floorboards ever designed. The amp section is a good idea [not new but very useful], the middle section makes sense, but is awkward. Might as well just offer a bigger - and better - touchscreen and put those 4 knobs under it [or more]. I mean, there's a lot of space there. The plastic footswiches make sense and don't take space on the board. But I wouldn't trust them [as I don't trust my clumsy feet]. Of course they did this to differentiate it from the likes of Line6 etc... but it doesn't work. And that carbon fiber shctick died in the 90's. So, as a conclusion, for 700 Euros it LOOKS hard to buy [maybe with some sake]. There's no much difference in sound from their other products, with the exception of the IRs Good show as always mates.
Apart from the brilliant user interface can't really see why this is so expensive!... The G5n can do nearly all the sounds you demonstrated at a fraction of the price.. to convince me please do a guitar lab demo and see if the G11 really shines!☺
The G11 MSRP is definitely overpriced, and the upcoming G6 is definitely probably the better choice in nearly all situations. But what it does do better than the G5n or G3n is that the amp models and overall modeling tech *has* been noticeably improved. You can find comparison videos on YT, but essentially the G11 sounds a lot less compressed and more lively, improved in the high-frequencies, etc. The interface is also definitely better, whether or not thats a big deal is up to you. Another huge benefit of the G11 is being able to load in your own IRs, which improves the sound by a TON. The built in cab sims are decent in the G5n/G3n, but nothing beats a well-produced IR. Takes the sounds to a whole new level. All that said, you are still better off with the G6 in my opinion. The G6 does basically everything the G11 does, at a much better price point and form factor. It's honestly what the G11 should have been in the first place.
Well would guess those digital/analogue converters are driving the price. S/N ratio at 127 dB. That thing is pretty much something you get within axe fx or kemper ( I guess ) . Not sure if you noticed , but all those amperos , Mooers, helixes etc. Their amps have a ton of top end, and only with it sound pleasing . Here you don't have that top end , and the whole thing sounds closer to real amps. Dynamic response is also noticeably better than the competition.
its good. now you sound pro even not know play lol. BUT when use USB and try play from pc speakers there latency. even worse than software based. when push drum track to pedal so cant play without latency on g11 with headphones from NI its different BPM. it works like it supposed, but not when connected pc. there is no way could record when there is latency
Not wanting to sound to negative as I love you guys and your reviews but having an old Zoom 505 pedal I did the same thing as you did with Alex building his bank. But as you have so many sounds, choices, effect you end up with a sound after 5 effects that is a full on Synthesizer and nothing like a guitar. I noticed the best sound was Gabor with just the amp and 1 distortion. For me personally this is just too much. This is an amazing bit of kit, but only if you really are looking for all of these effects. If I were to own this I think I might be disappointed that I would never use even half of its functionality.
I have three G2 series pedals that I use all the time. I found everything (G3 / G5) to be lacking. They don’t sound as good, and often run out of processing power. I wonder if this unit sounds more like the G2, or G3/5?
G11 in the house and very happy. I have still the G5n. Now I understand how to use the effect chain (pedal setup here: ruclips.net/video/djA3ZG3dHj0/видео.html ), but I always wonder what comes first on the Zooms: first the 'Amp' and then the 'Cabinet', or the other way around. Do you have an idea? Thanks for the vid. Very well done :-)
a good number of the G1 effects are also in the G11. I was surprised to see this. looks like they just keep putting more $$$$ into hardware and not into effects (except for the amp sims and IRs they added).

How would it compare to the Line 6 stuff? Pod Go and Helix?
Great demo...calm demeaner....killer licks!! great job...just got the G6.....similar
Thank you very much!!

I won't be buying one, but I am always amazed at how many sounds they can pack in one of these.

How is this in front of an amp say within overdrive like floor pedals not with the amp simulation but just to replace pedals
...Hello my Brothers!!!...I wish you well!...Can it do parallel effects?...Thank you...Peace...
Great video, thanks for no bias opinion, I subscribed
Thanks Ruben!!
Would love to hear the Marshall 1959 Amp model with Mesa Recto celestian V30's IR
HotSpice is a replica of the Indian musical instrument sitar.

After sales service is very poor according to my knowledge just like line 6

Wow - this is easily the worst looking peace of equipment ive seen for a long time - but im thinking of buying one...
Haha...yeah...it’s an interesting look...but it sounds pretty good

Stereo effects, mono output... useless ... useless for appreciating the sonic depth of the G11
