I had high hopes - ATK Blazing Sky F1 Ultimate | Before You Buy

  • The ATK Blazing Sky F1 Ultimate is a much-anticipated gaming mouse release with the latest tech that you would expect from higher-end gaming mice. It is capable of an 8000 Hz wireless polling rate with the high polling rate receiver included in this edition of the F1 Series and is fitted with Omron Optical mouse switches. While it has an interesting shape coupled with good performance from my testing, it falls behind in the quality of the materials and finishing.
    There have been numerous reports of a lack of proper QC.
    To some people it may not be a concern at this price point but for a company that has been producing gaming mice for quite some time now, I feel that it could do with some polishing and refinement before it can be a good recommendation amongst other gaming mice in this price range.
    *This is NOT a technical review.
    I want to keep my reviews focused on the topic and avoid comparing them against competitor products. Comparisons will be made in separate content!

    I feel like sensors have gotten so good, that what separates great mice from below average mice is really the build quality. If companies have one thing they should try to nail, it is that.

      @@im.deh11 True, can't go wrong with the R1 Pro. Love mine. Specs are good enough, perfect QC, good clicks and a great shape for my playstyle; all while being super light. And when on sale its almost half the price of the F1 Ultimate.
      While I do like there's new competition in this price range I do think that Chinese companies can do better. We've seen what Ninjutso can do with the Sora V2 and I was hoping we'd see that from this release. Unfortunately it seems like these releases are a mixed bag of QC issues and not-so-great click implementation.

    • @lqhatred
      @lqhatred 9 дней назад

      @@hinchlikescake7592 it'll get better after a few batches for sure, because i have the first batch of vxe r1 pro max, and there were an ungodly amount of qc issues. the right click, side buttons and scroll wheels were loose, the shell was creaking to the point where i have to fix it myself bcz its too burdensome. and i read the newer batch is flawless, so that might imply with the f1 series too. so if op is patience enough for a couple months, they should get the f1 instead, if not then the r1 are good.

    • @hinchlikescake7592
      @hinchlikescake7592 9 дней назад

      @@lqhatred Can't comment on the ATK's since I don't own it but several reviewers have tested the F1 Ultimate; some with horrible shell issues. Among other issues like button tolerances. Not worth beta testing those right now. If people need a good budget mouse now, the only good options are the R1 Pro, perhaps the VGN ones or Incott mice.
      Maybe the ATK's Pro (non Ultimate) will fare better since I don't see/hear many issues with those.

      Wow you're in luck! I've been testing the G-Wolves HTR 8K and its a brilliant fingertip mouse that you might be interested in! Though it doesn't allow for any other grip style haha.
      For traditional shapes it would depend on your hand size but most would prefer small or mini sized mice. The BeastX Mini is pretty great for fingertip and if it's within your budget, the Finalmouse ULX Cheetah Size is great for the fingertip grip style as well :)

      everyone saying the r1 is the same as pulsar x2. but I can tell you after using both, it's a night and day difference in build quality. coating and material and everything. Definitely try pulsar if you like the r1 shape.

    I personally have the F1 Pro instead of the Ultimate and based on my copy, I don't agree with the negatives you pointed out for yours. Perhaps the Ultimate edition was rushed, which contributes to the flaws out of the box but for me, the Pro version is an easy recommend for anyone that is looking to get a budget mouse that is similar in quality and specifications as the likes of Pulsar, Lamzu, etc.
    The coating on the F1 Pro black is great though. I like it much more than the coating on all of my Pulsar mice (I have 3 different Pulsar mice). Very similar to Lamzu's coating on the Atlantis mini in black, but a tad bit less chalky/powdery feeling.

    I mean, almost all of these budget Chinese mice are all about the same quality. They all feel pretty cheap, probably because they come out of the same 1-2 factories in China. Atk, vgn, vxe, darmoshark, attack shark, kysona.... all the same. There are a few that stand out though, lamzu, dareu, pulsar (even though they have qc issues too).
    This mouse is no different than the 100+ others on the market that are essentially the same thing
