I wanna come hang out with you guys. I'm from va but my wife and I bought 20 acres with a cabin in wv and I lived off grid for 3.5 months in Spencer wv while building a house for someone in the middle of the winter a few years ago. Unfortunately my father passed in 2020 and my wife passed this year and I have been really hurting and trying to keep it together. Prepping, chopping wood, and spending time with my dog is the only thing that is really keeping me going. I love tuning in to watch what you guys are doing. It's right up my alley. Nobody out my way really gets down like this. I can't wait until I'm 100 percent WV. It's gonna be hard without my wife, it was are dream we were making happen together but I know she wouldn't want me to stop and just give up. I gotta keep going. Thanks for sharing you guys. Keep the dream alive! God bless America and God bless you all!
I'm wishing you all best✨ I'm sorry for your losses but it's really great you're pushing forward. I hope you can find a few like-minded pals along the way✌️✨✨
Nice job on the recording Jen and love that the chickens went right to you with no problem. ❤ Thank you Nate for the update/tour of Will's area. Imo having ownership of the hill sloping down to the living space would be a preference. Hopefully the neighbor considers selling it to you. Great idea about the bridge over the creek and higher ground for the vehicles just in case. Trenching also helps direct the rain run off so kudos to Will for being on top of that (and for all the work he's already done)! Having an escape route/plan is so important. There is just so much potential with this property, but then you already knew that when you bought it! Keep up the good work! 👍🏼😎
There's just something about bushcraft builds and it always being a build it as I need it style of architecture that I've always loved. Gives every building such a unique character
Hey Will, you can turn plastic buckets on their sides and build just a stand for them, and put straw inside. Eggcellent and easy nest boxes. Love all you've done so far!
If he installs a sturdy enough trench/moat and levy it would probably be decent enough to withstanding some of rhe storms, diversion, collection, maybe even use the flood plain to grow some thisrty plants in the spring time
I have one of those little jackery phone battery packs gun ran over by snowmobiles and stuff and still works perfectly fine I've had it for four plus years

Love both you guys contents n I love your dogs all of them or both of yours more then anything! Lol sorry but they really cool dogs!🤙
@Nate Petroski I realize he already bought the stove. But, maybe (if its not too late), tell him to call up a recycling center and look for a 55gallon steel drum, buy the wood stove door, legs & damper kit. Best choice I made! It can burn me out of my man cave. Just takes a little elbow grease. But, best thing I did for the cave (it's also uninsulated, if that says anything!). I got the kit from Tractor Supply for $60. And, the drum was $20. Already had the wall thimble (reg. cost for that was $20).. and, due to stove pipe being $20 a foot.. I did buy a 24" to go through the thimble. But, pipe leading up to it and outside is simply 6" air duct pipe, fits perfect with real stove pipe.. just make sure to burn the stove well-vented because air duct is galvonized which will put off toxins at first. One burn will do it. So, all in all.. $120 for my great stove! Then, 4 - 3" blocks to set on.. $3 each. And, temperature tape for pipe joints.. maybe $15? Cant remember? And, sand to put up to vent inside of stove. Everything was $150-$155. Very proud of it! And, sure beats an iron wood stove at $1500+ JUST for stove. Again.. this is for a man cave.. but, I'm honestly so impressed with it, I'd definitely consider building another one and putting it in my home (except, I'd definitely buy proper stove pipe. Pass this message along to WillSurvives if you will. Awesome video!

Nate! Will could use materials to insulate his place and fill in the cracks upstairs/ downstairs. I've had to survive a winter living in a tent in NY myself, and spent some time in a bushcraft shelter, so i've learned quite a bit about what he's going through. He's doing an amazing job at it, but if i may make a few recommendations.. i'd suggest materials like a roll of Tyvek paper and a bucket of black tar to help fill in cracks and make the Tyvek stick to the metal siding. Tubes of Caulk, or spray foam to insulate/ fill in holes downstairs so the cold wind doesn't come inside to much. I saw he's got a few rolls of regular insulation, that will be great once it's into place. Layers and insulation are key factors to stay warm. Best of luck to both of you, you guys are my heros.
Grew up off-grid. This reminds me of my brother turning an ancient unused barn on the property into a nice, liveable small cabin. The barn wasn't much more than a few posts and a roof when he started. I was amazed.
