Hi Jay, I purchased this camera from you and got stuck doing the installation. I gave you a call and you promptly answered my questions for me to complete the installation. Wanted to say I really appreciate your help and thank you very much.
Another question for you Jay, if you were to connect the accessory wire to an always on circuit and only used the button to turn it off, how much would it draw switched ‘off’? And if you had it connected to a battery tender, would it be sufficient to maintain the battery charge? Thanks again
I just got the Camera kit, and I'm installing on my 2023 Ryker Rally. If I understand correctly, I don't have to connect the yellow wire to the ignition wire; I can connect the yellow wire to a headlight wire? I am having difficulty finding the ignition wire, but the headlight wire is easy to locate. Maybe connecting with a T-tap wire connector would be best?
I need help! Jay, I am stumped. First, the Kenwood power line is too short for my Ryker Rally, so I have to extend the black, red, and yellow wires. I extended them with 20 gauge wires, connected with 22-18 gauge butt terminals, and the yellow wire with splice terminal tap to the headlights yellow wire. The headlight and Kenwood turned on when the engine started. I linked to my phone, adjusted the cameras, formatted the SD card, and set a new password. I turned the engine on and off 3 -4 times to ensure the Kenwood worked. Then, I zip tied the wires and closed the panels. I started the engine again, but this time I got nothing. The blue and yellow lights on the switch wouldn't come on anymore. I took everything out and checked for a break with a multimeter. I inserted a fine sewing needle into the female power cable connector and checked for a break with the multimeter from the batter ring connector to the female cable connector. I did that for the black wire, too, all connections good. The fuse is good, too. The headlight yellow wire splice terminal to the female cable connector is also good. Started the engine again, and the switch would not come on; I don't know what else to troubleshoot. I can't open the switch and the main unit to check if some wires inside have a break. I need help, I need your expertise, Jay. Or, should I call your shop technician where I bought the Kenwood from? Thank you.
@@volunteeraudio Followup: Thank you for testing the Main Unit for me, Jay. I reconnected the power line to a different headlight harness line, and the unit is working now. I very much appreciate your help.
Jay, have you ever installed this into a tour pack? I would consider drilling a hole like the wiring hole and grommet on the left side on the right side. The GPS would stay in the tour pack, accessory power accessible from the tour pack outlet and the power, gnd, and speaker wires would go through the hole. Does this seem reasonable to you? Thanks!
@@volunteeraudio OK, I have a problem with water getting into one of my bags and I can’t figure out why. Was wondering if I could have you check out there. I’ll keep trying then. Thanks again.
Hi Jay, would the GPS antennae be ok mounting under my faring next to the XM satellite radio antennae on my Street Glide CVO? Also my Boom Audio GTS factory navigation GPS antennae is under my faring also….What do you think?
Hi Jay, will the GPS antenna work properly if you installed it inside the top lid of the tour pack? Also, will the shock detection work properly if the unit is mounted in any orientation? Vertical inside the tour pack. Thanks!
This is a dvr system, not a backup camera, it works really well and can be easily played back on you smart phone, and if you use the angle adjustment part of the app you can live view front or rear cameras
Can this work if the constant power and ignition power are only working off of ignition power alone? Reason I ask is I'd like to have a system that just plugs into a cigarette lighter type power source inside my truck.

How do you remove the front fairing in the future if the camera is connected to it ? The wire and plug is routed under the fuel tank to the module. I do not want to remove the fuel tank every time i go into the front fairing
Just watch the little spacer in the middle of the mount. I already considered this and disassembled the camera from mount…going suck doing that while standing on head…
i wish that you would have actually spent time on how to identify were the yellow wire for ACC connection goes and how to identify the best place to hook up. I am attempting to install this on my 2023 SV650, but i do not know how or where to hood up the yellow ACC wire. Getting frustrated to the point of ready to return it.
@@ApriliaTom most every motorcycle has an ignition feed to the lights, all parking lights are on anytime the key is on, in our install video we show finding this wire under the seat of the Harley we were working on at the rear lighting plug.

Please “NOTE”, that this unit will not work when it overheats !!!!! It will start working again once it cools down. Not a good choice for a Harley Davidson. You will know when it overheats because the blue led on the on the record button will turn red when overheated and then back to blue when it cools off.
The only issue with that is I don't believe the cable for the rear camera will be long enough to mount at the rear of the cycle, but I will look at the length again. FYI, LOVE YOUR VIDEO’S !!!!!

Agreed, saying “find and connect it” really isn’t helping. What’s that mean? Everything is done but this acc wire and I’m stuck.
Does the app do live video viewing, and can it detect if the bike is rolling backward for backing up?
You can view live footage from the bike on the app, there is no reverse feature
Can you use just one of the cameras? Just the front?
You can, in the app you can cut the rear camera off
