Switching the chips can make such a difference with these dolls
It sure does. ;-) I might not ever 'carve' one, but dang it is fun to customize and sew for them.
When I removed eye chips using the hotglue stick, after I took the eye chips out I cut the gluestick shorter, close to the eye chip. Then I put them in the freezer for a bit. After the glue is cold, you can squeeze the little glue disc with a pair of pliers and it will pop off very easily! It saved my fingernails a lot of pain after discovering that trick, so I wanted to share it! Also, I love how the nailpolish on the eyelids came out, I will definitely try that next time! I previously used metallic paint and it came out very thick.
Thank you. I usually use my scissors, it is a bit dangerous, so I did not want to show that part. ;-) I love that metallic paint, but, fingernail polish comes in those colors too. ;-)
Awesome tutorial Marna and yes you are so right about some of those channels and their craft magic transformations 😉🥰💖
Thanks Dorie. "Craft Magic" makes me......
Great tutorial. Not sure I’ll ever remove eyes from a Blythe doll but if I do I’ll know how to do it 😁😊 Thank you
Thanks Lorraine. ;-)
That's a great tutorial. I've already changed the eyes of 3 of my dolls and if I struggle in future I'll use your super tip! The new eyelids look fab! I agree that it's awful how some people deliberately mislead others.
I have one of those cheaper Blythes in the post and I hope her eye chips are the same as your doll, I wouldn't want to change those, they're lovely!
Thank you Millie. ;-) I love the cheaper Blythes, and yes, I do like their eyes, the green and blue are stunning. ;-)
Great tip about the freezer I will be doing that for sure - very pretty eyelids 🥰🥰
Thanks Jay. I had so much trouble before Deron had me try the Freezer. Now? I rarely have one that doesn't just pop right out. ;-)
@@DollsRescued it will certainly improve my eye removal too!! Thank you both 🥰🥰
Thank you ! 😊 i’m gonna get back to trying customising my dolls . I like good tips video ! Your are so lovely and im always happy to watch your videos !
Thank you for watching. I LOVE doing face ups on the Blythe Dolls. It is fun and relaxing and the Blythes are so whimsical about anything works for them.
Very nice…yes, your wonderful husband is extremely SMART! 🙏🙌🙌💁♀
Thank you Lori. I was getting so frustrated trying to get those chips out of the sockets, now?, RARELY does on pull free from the glue stick.
@@DollsRescued Hahahaa Nice trick though! 🙌😎
Thanks for the real McCoy info about removing the eye chips. I had to resort to a drill bit in the past. Now I know the secret! I'm delighted. Haha, those magic crafts!
Wow Marna this was so interesting! That’s pretty amazing with the eye chips! What great tips too!
Thank you Alison. I LOVE customizing the Blythes, I might never 'carve', but it's a LOT of fun.
Woww beautiful blue eyes nice work i do same way change eyes but didn't put in fridge that great thanx you sheare with as👌👍❤️😘🥰😍🤗
Thanks Alexandra. I was having such trouble with the Glue Sticks not holding the eye chips well, with the freezer trick, they come right out and rarely do not. ;-)
I just wanted to tell you I just got a huge haul of tbl Blythe because I want to customize them and I remembered your "craft magic" video and came right here to try this again. 🤗🤗🤗 Thank you
Oh Congrats on your new Blythes!~ I have so much fun with those danged dolls, I am so SMITTEN with them. Thank you for coming back to watch our videos. I really DO appreciate it. ;-) I hope you do videos on your Customs, I would love to see them.
Craft magic reminds me a lot of the old ladies and the church cookbooks who give incomplete recipes so that you can't have their secret family whatever. It doesn't help anybody and just kind of makes you sound like a jerk! Thank you for sharing, once my eye chips get in I'm nervous but excited to start!
😂😂
Thank you so much!! I struggled with the last 2 or 3 chips for about 24 hours and tried everything. Thankfully I found you before I tried something drastic. Wish I'd thought of youtube sooner. Subscribed.
Hey! This was a great tutorial and it really helped me a lot with my other Blythe dolls. I have that exact same Blythe doll as you with the yellow hair and everything. Can u please make a tutorial on how to remove the eye mechanism from the head on the Blythe dolls with the yellow hair? It works for my more expensive Blythe dolls but not my cheap ones
Thank you for the tutorial!!!
Thank YOU for watching. ;-)
Great tip beautiful eye chips ♥️🥰
Thank you. This way is so much faster, easier and works almost every single time.....unlike when it is done without the freezer. ;-)
Thanks to your hubby for the drilling out the eyes idea. I tried the freezer method to no avail. I ended up drilling a pilot hole in the middle of the pupil on my Factory Blythe, screwing in a screw and using that to pop them out. They were definitely crazy glued in there pretty well.
Glad YOU found a good way to get the chips out of the eyes. ;-) It can be maddening sometimes!~ Thank you for watching. Sorry for the late reply, I have been 'down with something."
@@DollsRescued Wish i could have saved the chips tho, or made something out of them.🌻🌼 Feel Better. 🌺🏵
Hi Marna & Daren! As you know and I have mentioned it I have not changed my eyechips. I'm so happy to find your tutorial. About the magic channels, I couldn't agree more 💯 how upsetting. When I do my craft I do it live and although it takes over an hour there it is. Another thing is that I show work in progress, whether its works or doesn't work. People that deseive find the end of the road in a not too pleasant way.
EXACTLY HAYDEE!~ It is maddening, these 'bigger' channels and their 'Craft Magic'. How people have not caught on and stopped watching them.....I do not get.
I love your work Haydee. Your Vintage like outfits are amazing.
I spent 3 hours last night removing only 3 sets, thank you for this!!!!
Thank-You, that was very helpful!
I like the eyes!
Thank you. ;-) I really like them too.
Thank you so much for this video! So great you and Deron shared your technique. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for this video, Marna!
Thank Karyn. ;-)
Thank you for the info!! One day I may get brave enough to change the eyes! I don't care for pink and orange eyes! 😁
Many times I only change out two or three of the chips, but I really like the look of some of the eye chips from Aliexpress and I have also made my own with the glass chips you can also get from there. ;-)
Omg I’m so scared of taking my Blythe apart I really want to customize her but I’m scared ❤❤❤❤ thank you for the tip ❤
OMG Ray!~ NOT the Kenner! Get a cheap one and have fun with it. But don't devalue your Kenner. Any time things are changed on the Kenners, it devalues them, no matter who does the work. Unless fixing something that is.
Thanks so much for the info❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you Patricia for watching. ;-)
Thank you. Great tutorial. Definitely one I can come back to again. 😊
Thank you for shearing this! Who knows mby 2023 is when my Blythe finely gets customized :D
Thank you so much for this Marna, just about to get going with my first eye change for the fairy collab 🥰🥰
omg thats a great idea!!!!!!
Thanks Jaime, it really works well. ;-)
That is so cool I'll never good but that is so cool LOL and God bless you guys I love you hugs and kisses coming your way XOXO!
Thanks Tilly. ;-) Love back to you dear dolly friend!~
Like others I have not done any as yet but it is something I'd like to do.Just need to bite the bullet and get on with it I guess.Thank you great tutorial.
Could you make tutorial how to get glossy lips if you costume the doll?
Yes, thank you. But it will not be right now. ;-)
@@DollsRescued take time!!! Thank you for willing to do it🥺
Thank you for sharing 💝💝💝👍👍👍
What glue are you using to glue it?
Can we see how you display your Blythe collection?
I have and do show my Blythes from time to time, on shelves. I have 5 places where I display them (I have many and many different types). Some, sit on a TV Tray Table between me and the TV. Usually I put them there when I am trying to work out an outfit (in my head) and I glance at them, then let the subconscious take over.....it works for me. ;-)
Thank you for the freezer trick! 😊
Thank you! Im trying to give mine stars in his eyes and might buy clear eye chips! Couldn’t find how to remove them anywhere!!
What a Great tutorial! Sidenote: I have tweezers like that but mine's a different doll 😉
Thank you Carrie!~ I love these tweezers, I would get another set if I could remember where they came from. Have you noticed they have a sharper edge than other types. I really like that. ;-)
@@DollsRescued yes. They are very useful for applying lego stickers to bricks too. I got mine years and years and years ago for xmas from my mom. I have a hunch they may have came from like TJ Maxx or Marshalls
Thank you for this tutorial Marna. I recently bought Aliexpress Blythe doll whose eye chips were fixed with mud clay plasticine. The usual method for removing the eye chips did not work. Do you have any tips? Thank you for your awesome videos
Ok that’s why I can’t remove the eyes from my doll. It’s one of those Ali dolls just like you show and nothing is working to remove the eye chips. I’m hoping you have a video drilling the eyes out. I’m a total newbie.
YES!~ We do plan to have a Video where we (Deron) drills out the eyes of the Basaak Blythe Eyes. It can be done a couple of ways. We (Deron) found that just buying a drill bit the same size of the eyes, easiest. ;-)
Thank you for the good information
Love the eye chips❤
8.99?! that's a fantastic price! do you have a link? i only ever find $12-15 as the lowest price
AAAAAA I want blythe dolls so bad I need one to be a mini me
I think they are on sale right now for less than $20 on Aliexpress. I just love the Blythe Dolls, so fun, so whimsical.
Gee I’m sorry you feel misled… sometimes it takes all the tricks to finally get those chips out 😢 oddly I never had success with the freezer method 😂 Thanks so being so honest and helpful. 😊
What method do you like best?
Thanks for sharing. I don't put mine in the freezer. I let mine sit out on the table
Thanks Tina. I am glad that works for you. ;-) For many of us, it just does not.....that is, too many times the glue just pulls free and had to start over.
Some day I will be brave enough to take a head apart! Not today, though!!! 🥰
I understand. Deron takes mine apart for me. I am sure I can, but he will so..... he he he
hiiiii
Hello Dear Dolly Friend!~
5 Minute Crafts?
I won't say, but YOU know these channels I am talking about. We call it "Craft Magic", it's a nice way to say..... HAHAHAHAH
