I share your pet pain Martin. I have 2 huskies, and it’s impossible to get mad at them because they’re so funny how they team up to get attention. One wants to chat while I’m recording acoustic guitars with mics and the other knocks my fretting hand with his head to get attention. 😂 I love your ambient music and it’s super interesting to watch you work. I’m looking to learn more ambient music since I’ve got some cool synth stuff with Logic pro x and Omnisphere.
Martin this was incredible! Thank you so much for sharing this process with us. What I personally gained was a starting point to give this genre a shot (haven't been that successful in the past). You have provided an excellent starting point/template. I will definitely be watching this again to take more notes. I really hope more of these videos make an appearance in the future although I can't imagine how difficult it must be to do this live. The commentary is what made it so good.
Definitely more interested in ambient than the Super Bowl 😂 Thank you so much for taking the time to do something like this. It was lovely to have this to watch after a sound design session of my own 😊
Hi Martin, thank you so much for this. I've been in a creative rut for a while and this has given me so much inspiration! I was awake at 3am and listened more than watched from start to finish. Now experimenting with an ambient pad on my Quantum....plenty of modulation and most interesting that you step away from the project and come back to it later. I do have a habit of over listening, getting bored and never finishing anything! 🙄 Take care both of you.
Thank you so much for this amazing journey into your way of designing and composing ambient worlds! Absolutely insightful and inspiring! Vielen vielen Dank !
Thanks for the great livestream. Andy Kittner told me about you! I can't speak English very well, but I've understood everything so far! Andy didn't promise too much, you have a new fan! LG from Stralsund SilverFuchs
I think you can choose the input for a Zebra module by right clicking on it. It gets the input from the chosen column in the row above then. Thanks for the great video btw! 20:50
This was brilliant. I love seeing other composers ways of working, and this was a masterclass in ambient music. Sincerely hope you can do more of these. ❤
Hi Martin- thanks for the tutorials. I would love to see you create a tutorial more focused strictly on a discussion of composition for those who already have a good knowledge of sound design. Demonstrate your thinking process (really build upon what you talk about starting at 57:57 & 1:14:06) , not so much how to make sounds but rather why you choose the the sounds in context - discuss the choices you make and discuss the elements and structures of ambient music - how you think about building and subtracting parts, repetition (arrangements), what types of sounds work well with each other (instrumentation) and how you use those elements (melody, harmony, voicing, texture, use of rhythm in tonal parts, pads, plucks, etc).
Thank you! I like the idea of a session with a focus on the arrangement. I had in mind to take a track, that I already released and have a close look at it.
this is the best content about ambient to find on youtube so far. 😎Martin, could you please make a video with comments about creating a dark ambient music? There is a huge lack of serious tutorials about this topic. I am sure, many of us would love to know more about composing and mixing stuff in lower ranges...
That would be great, Martin! 👍 I really enjoy some of your Phelios albums and i am always wondering, how all these deep, static and harmonic layers come together.
Thank you for sharing your process, and the level of detail you've gone into. I've been trying to do something similar to your navigation with the Midifighter using keyboard shortcuts on a streamdeck, however some shortcuts (such as "r" for device panel focus), behave differently when using a two monitor setup ... it works on single monitor, but not on two.... strange...
@@MartinStuertzer Hi Martin, yes there are benefits, U-He, Bitwig and Surge have integrated CLAP and they work very well together. Better CPU performance, per-note automation and modulation are top of the list. I enjoyed last nights show!
so appreciate your calm explanations and resulting sounds. Very generous of you. Danke!
So insightful. Such a heavenly end result... gorgeous. Thanks for sharing...big fan!!!
Love your company I woke up at 4 a.m. I made the right choice to be in your fun presence is very uplifting.

See you in Wuppertal next month!
Travelling over from Macclesfield UK 🇩🇪🏴🤓
I appreciate the trouble, which you put yourself into to see the concert! I do everything I can to make it worth the travel!
Very nice track. It was very enjoyable to watch the creative process too! Thanks for sharing.

10:00 Whiskers is clearly contemplating the next sequence by the looks of it :)

I've never watched a 2 hour long RUclips video all in one go. Your calm and clear explanation captured my attention throughout the live broadcast.
Beautiful ❣️

Neptun is a god. He can do what he likes!
Thank you very much, learnt so much in the 2 hours than the whole weekend. Love your calm and composed way of explanation :)

very useful. Thank you
Looking forward to it! Thanks for doing this, Martin. Your home concerts are the way I start my Sunday mornings.
Nice Marting, great Tutorial and nice to see you stick with Bitwig ❤
Thank you! Some of your tutorials have been helpful to find my way in Bitwig!

Thank you! I will try that!
Just getting into sound design with Pigments and this was REALLY helpful, thanks a million!
Learned a lot, thank you and I rather liked the balloons!
amazing thank you Martin

Thank you! I plan to do this more often.

Thank you! I am currently working on a new Phelios album and my liveset for the show in Berlin, so it might be possible to do a production session.
That would be great, Martin! 👍 I really enjoy some of your Phelios albums and i am always wondering, how all these deep, static and harmonic layers come together.
Love this concert and it will forever in my favorite liked list. Great Thank you so much sir for sharing beautiful Weekend gift 🎁❤😊😍🤞👍
Very helpful and beautiful arrangement. I miss the integration of a tea pouring sample though ;-)

Hello from Baja California, Mexico! Can you link to the little midi box you're using to fade sounds in and out? Thanks!
Bitwig is beautiful!
10/10 if I may :D
Never heard of bitwig. So many different music composing software out there. I like how they support open source CLAP
I never took the time to look into CLAP. Does it have any benefits over VST?

@@sjcary Thank you! I will give it a try. I use U-He a lot a have the CLAP versions installed. Glad that you enjoyed the streams!
Never played Mass Effect? I heartily recommend going through 1 - 3. You'll be hooked!
