my agent's manager gets feisty when i question the premium, ask for a reduction, etc...i think she enjoys telling me "no". I'm changing...once and for all
5 ways to save money on car insurance. Monday through Friday: Drive Mom's car Drive Dad's car Drive Sister's car Drive Brother's car Drive Girlfriend's car Stay home for the weekend Repeat Monday through Friday
I have excellent credit, a very high score, but SF raised my rates almost 15% based on my credit😠. So I’ve been insured with SF since 1973 with no losses, guess I’m no longer going to be their customer.
Auto insurers should be in a great position. COVID had so many fewer cars on the road, people working from home. Claims should have been set up for this uptick. I have zero sympathy for insurance companies and airlines!
Don't forget the EV's that get totaled in minor accidents. That cost is getting pushed off on everyone. That, and with rideshare services, we're also picking up the cost of taxi cab insurance with our personal auto policies.
Also, if your insurance gives a lower price for less miles driven, and you don't drive what is the average for your state (community?) make sure you keep up on paperwork with them that they send to document you drive a lower amount. I was at 5,000 mi/year or less briefly after the pandemic and for personal reasons. When I received my new paperwork for the next 6 month policy, I didn't see they had bumped it up to the average of 12,000 miles. I had missed (a separate form) that I had to re-certify that I drove
My insurance on my Mustang full coverage is 260.00 per year. Not bad. Oh, it is 1968 model. Fun to drive and easy to maintain. Power steering, power brakes, A/C and automatic, what more do you need. Do not say you can not drive long distance. We live in Florida, been to north Georgia and Alabama on vacation. Our next car will be a 68 olds or Galaxy.
I was shocked at how low the value of my 2020 Mercedes was especially compared to the cost of the collision and comprehensive premiums. I now only have liability and have saved a lot and am stress free since value of the car is so low anyway.
With my insurance, at age 50, you can do the online Training/Quiz video program and save 5% per year for 3 years. And the course is put on by another company that sends the info to your insurance that you completed it. The courses the last time I paid were $13-19. So you make up that in the savings to your premium. And in three years the training company gave a few dollars discount to stay with them to do the course again. The program saves you money, but more importantly, you learn from it so you are driving safer for yourself and family and other drivers.
What happened to the 5 ways to save money on auto insurance? Because I only heard about 2 things mentioned. Michigan has the highest auto insurance because it's a No fault state from what I heard.
Y'all it's not against the law to say who you are using for your insurance or at the very least give hints so we can guess IE "all the states" or "the one with the deer" or "the one with Flo" lol
Why not buy a bicycle and get some exercise then? It blows my mind how NOT getting exercise is some kind of American birthright and sane, and the people who do exercise are health "nuts." America's got health and transportation backwards with an eye towards maximum resource waste in both categories. EVs don't solve any of it since chances are fossil fuels are burned to generate the electricity they use, and EVs are overweight vehicles to begin with owing to their heavy battery packs. Riding the bus would produce less emissions per capita than putting everyone in EVs and maintaining the traffic jam status quo.
Mileage and insurance are irrelevant when you ride transit. It's even cheaper if you ride a bike. Instead of twisting yourself into a pretzel trying to avoid indulgent costs of indulgent driving, why not lobby your employer for bike racks with a roof to keep rain clear and a locker room with showers? Any employer not providing that is just a cheapskate with an auto bias.
This credit report is bullshit, what does this have to do with your driving? I have no credit cards and have no debt so I have to pay more cause I am not in debt

Rude! You are her boss she isn't your boss...your money, you're the boss!
I want to get insurance at a place where I do not have to use an agent .They do exist.
I am finding out the cheapest zip code to live in and I am moving there because I am retired so I can move
'tis a bad sign not having your agent talk to you !
The pay-per-mile insurance is really cool. I didn't even know auto insurance like that exists. Kudos.

I bought a golf cart to save mileage on my auto because I live close to work.
