- A one week circumnavigation around Spitbergen with Hurtigruten in Svalbard is a great cruise voyage to see polar bears!
The high arctic has a lot to offer and the landscapes are perfect for photography. We managed to see polar bears, arctic fox, whales, reindeer and walrus!

The bear with the tracking device is Ava. She is tracked by British photographers. Last time I had seen her she had her twins with her of course. Love you, Ava!

Thanks for the link :) It would be interesting if that is the same bear, but how can we be sure of that? There's probably several tagged bears walking around Svalbard. I doubt this is Ava.

Just back form Svalbard. Didn't see a polar bear. But seeing your excitement gives us an idea of what we've missed. Wonderful place to get in touch with yourself though!

It’s so random but I just learned of Svalbard last night and it’s my new obsession. I want to go and see the beautiful and terrifying polar bears so bad! They are just so cute but I’d never want a close encounter with one. Svalbard is so trippy, it seems like another planet to me.

It is a wonderful video about Norway and its wildlife. We are from India , relatively warm country and it is so fascinating as to how the people and the wild animals adjust themselves to the extreme cold climate at Norway (arctic region). No circum navigations possible but the place is of course as beautiful and worth it as always. We saw a Polar Bear this morning catching a seal! Spectacular... wish you an amazing svalbard cruise! Hey Tom!! I have been following your Instagram and RUclips for a while now - loving everything that you've posted!! I was on the beautiful Fram in May as a passenger - hoping to get through Hurtigruten as a Chinese translator and admin person! Hopefully I will be able to meet you someday as a fellow expedition member... I miss the Fram and the Fram family! Say hi to Line and Sam and Marcel for me... in the meantime I will have to live vicariously through your videos.

Loove the video, and pray to be able to see half of the amazing things you experienced during the wonderful voyage! When did you make this trip? My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to Svalbard somewhere in the end of April, I'm afraid it's way too early to go by cruise and have a chance to see a polar bear

Martin Clayton The best place to find a job there would be in Longyearbyen. But it is hard to get out of the city area and see more. If you really want to see more and lots of animals you have to be there in the winter and have a snowmobile and riffle and go out or join an expedition ship, which yes, is expensive. Once in a lifetime for most people.

good job. My polar summer record was the first attempt on a travelog. It was recorded as an average tourist traveler. Next trip will be full gear I actually need.

I was crew, but as a guest I higly recommend a travel insurance ;)

@@tomdreamsbig great and thanks.... will plan that in to my trip for sure... just showed my partner this and we laughed so much cause we did a safari in sri lanka (wilipatu) and we saw a asian bear and we also mustve have said "bear bear bear bear bear bear bear bear" as many time as you did...
How to catch a Polar Bear:
1. chop 6 ft. dia. hole in ice
2. one bag frozen green peas
3. place peas entirely around hole in ice
4. when Polar Bear comes to take a
pee, kick him in the ice hole.
We are planning this trip for the summer of 2023. It can't get here fast enough.

You ruined everything by showing the dead polar bear, and showing the foxes capture and eat the birds. I know it happens, everybody knows it happens, but I'm not sadistic enough to want to watch something suffer. I love Svalbard, but I'll watch other people's video's instead of yours. Put a notice on your video that cruelty is involved, so people can decide if they want to watch it or not.

U r going their to Land (Polar bears Land) and u want shoot at them...? It is too nasty...Why don't u travel in a Bus and see them from the safety and leave the Polar region for Polar Bears... Pls. Shoot with Cameras and not with Guns !!!
You obviously did not watch the whole video. The last thing we want is to shoot a bear.
