- Pierre is an Alexandrine parrot at www.parrotsinp... trained by Dail, the owner. Isn't his trick impressive?! He selects only Aussie coins and puts them into his box. All other coins are given straight back!

Giving a new meaning to “birdie bank account” lol
He deserves some treats for a reward. Amazing bird!
I really like this parrot with a pretty pink scarf and how smart it is!
Oh, I get it. He uses his tongue to feel the texture of the coin. That's really cool.
I think its some sort of marker / flavor on the AUS coins
@Bill Cosby ok bill cosby
Same way how they distinguish between seeds in the wild. Their tongues are really really sensitive. They crack the seeds with their beaks and carefully take the seeds out of the shell and and discard the shell without using their claws.
He's very worried about hurting someone awww
Beautiful boy, I love the expression in his face and eyes. So sweet, wants to make people happy! 💚🐦💚
This video couldn't have come out at a better time! Right now I'm fascinated with alexandrines. How incredible, Pierre taught his human to give others coins so he could play with them!
I've been studying different species of parrots for a while and still can't understand this specific species..why are they so intelligent and unique? Never say bird brain because they are beyond words of what we could only imagine. Thanks for sharing with us all.
Really? Are the Alexandrian parakeet more intelligent than other Parakeets? There are a lot of Alexandrian parakeets and yellow crusted cockatoos living in the wild in Hong Kong and I didn’t think much of them until now. 😅 Btw what is the most intelligent parrot species in your opinion?
@@amyleung370 My experience is the African Gray is quite intelligent. They seem to learn appose to be imprinted. They associate words with items and things. Such as picking a color from colored papers and saying what color is green like the grass or red like your tail..
Same I can relate to your statement given am a owner of a male Ringneck parrot
This bird is adorably smart, beautiful and oh so precious!
Thanks for taking the time out of your very hectic tour to bring us all such joy ...xx
Oh so cute. Good job Pierre!
Oh, Wow, JamieLeigh!!! I'm just a bit worried about him getting germs from the money. What a smart birde!!! Love, big hugs, birdie kisses. Thank you for the cute video!
I wish this was my personal banking system 😂
Thank you for sharing him, he is brilliant!
What a smart lil bird❤️❤️❤️ I just finished watching the Rasta videos so when I saw Alexandrine Parakeet I got really confused why it was showing up as new 😂😂😂😂👏
So smart! I am teaching my moustache parakeet tricks and he learns quickly.
I have never seen this type of parakeet. So Ty very much. Such and beautiful animal.
I absolutely LOVE Indian Ringnecks!❤️🦜❤️
I loved you sharing this ! I knew they could learn lots of things but this is a new one . How unique . I bet he just loves doing this too .
Give that bird a reward!
Would like to say cookie but I dont hink that fits...
Must be he can taste what the coins are made of? Or by rubbing his tongue on the coin for the raised impressions? Not sure but smart... Thx for sharing 😊
Yeah, I think it's the raised impressions that tip him off.
The coins probably feel different in more ways than one.
Birds have a really poor sense of taste and smell
@@Shawts www.audubon.org/magazine/january-february-2014/birds-can-smell-and-one-scientist
Birds feel things with their tongues the way we use our hands.
What a good boy!!
Those birbs are hella smart! Nice
I wonder if it has to do the thickness of the coins? Or maybe they taste slightly different because of different metals? Or maybe he's learned what the texture from the engraving/embossing of Aussie coins is, so anything that doesn't feel like their coins is rejected? He's definitely a clever boy.
У меня 2 таких попугайчика, живут как короли. Очень их люблю. Яша и Грома.
That was awesome! He's so cute! And Smart !
What a smarty patooty...lol👏
How adorable!
hes a gorgeous looking bird!! amazing
Smart parrot, but I'm curious if he does it more by taste than feel, then again are their coins ridged like the American quarter....questions. Really enjoyed the video, Thank you
i got my alexandrine from her and met pierre he is so nice
that's so cutteeeee
Wow, really smart parrot and great training..Have an Alexandrine parrot too and he is very cute..
So cute!
So smart omg!!
That was great!
Amazing parrot !
Agreed. Whether it's taste or texture, he is amazing.
That's amazing!
Good training I love you for it 💖💖💖💖
And all he wants is kisses! Want a sweetie 💚💚💚
Very sweet!
😱 so funny and clever
So clever ❤
I might be getting an alexandrine parrot soon after we move into our new house I'm so exited
He's one smart bird 😍
I'm wondering if it's like clever hans & the owner is giving off signals we're not seeing but he is. Anyway it's done super smart bird & a great trick.
He is so smart, I love his tail! He does it for attention not treats doesn't he. Does he recall for her in flying? She is great with him, are you meeting a lot of bird owners? Will you have any film of the wild birds there?
Even i have a ringneck parrot. But its quite an introvert kind and is always fearful about things happening around. And it doesn't even come out of its cage, its been a week since i got it. And have done multiple attempts of getting friendly, but it surely doesn't appear like its gonna be easy trying to win its trust.
Cute
Amazing 💖😘💕
Hi, loved the video as per usual; how cool was that?! But should Dail be rewarding Pierre? Is it a self rewarding behaviour? I didn’t see any alternative rewards (ie, verbal praise, attention, self rewarding behaviour, favourite or other treats, etc.) so what’s keeping Pierre motivated? I don’t mean to be disrespectful, Dail seems to be a wonderful caretaker of Pierre ( I don’t like using owner, because we don’t own the birds, we tamed them and are responsible for their needs therefore, I see caretaker as a good term), I’m just curious about how Pierre doesn’t lose interest in training.
I don't reward my birds for throwing spoons off of the counter but they do it every day! Pierre must just love the interaction and play.
Well, I see what your saying but, I feel like that is a self rewarding behaviour, like our guys whistle-that’s self rewarding.I feel in Pierre’s case it’s more trick training, so I’m wondering why/how he stays motivated.
@@kitnarpyed4575 He's probably gotten lots of treats before so he automatically associates this action with treats even when he's not getting any. I taught my bird to hold up a fist when I do. Now he does it all the time for "free" cuz he's had so much fun with it before. And he likes the attention lol
Waoh!
They remind me of Indiain Ringnecks. (My fav type of parrot.) how closely related are they?
Thrash476 pretty close I have a Indian ringneck and my channel is about her if you love Indian ringneck s you can check it out
They are basically same love.. ☺️
Same genus. They're cousins.
What a honey ..... Me I would have trained him to take it all ...... wahahahahaha
Does he get to spend the money afterword?
Wow. :)
Cool
Do Australian coins taste different? o.O Very smart bird
I don't think it's the taste, but the raised textures on the coins, and he's using his tongue to feel the textures of the coins.
I want to get my first bird and all signs are pointing towards the Alexandrine... still have a lot more research to do!
Cute parrot how you train him
His smarter than the actual tellers at CBA
yesterday i bought one
5 month male
he is smart 500.crazy 1000 🤣
Before each show she dips the Australian coins in Vegemite or something like that.
Very cute! Could this make the bird sick? The money is dirty and who knows what could be on the coins.
It's a Green Alexandrian the Blue Alexandrian is more expensive.
Hi I love this channel she is amazing she even inspired me to make a channel about my Indian ringneck that talks it would mean the world to me f you would check it out
She moves the coin box forward for all the ones he puts in
mike a similar study was done with a horse! People thought he could count but really he was reacting to crowd cues! Psychology and animal psych are amazing!
I have alexandrine how do I train my guy this trick?
Armaan khan I’d suggest teaching him how to put things in a coin box first. Once that’s down you can start giving him two different kinds of coins, giving him treats if he puts one type in over the other? Allow him to feel and look at the coins and perhaps that could work
tht is indian Ringneck parrot named after king alexander....
My Alexandrine Parrots are so dumb😂 Maybe I'm just a bad teacher...
Different currency tastes differently.
Guys this video is FAKE! It's not actually Pierre the Alexandrine Parrot, it's just a guy in a Pierre the Alexandrine Parrot suit. :(
If they were notes he should keep the US ones -- our Aussie dollar is not worth much at the moment.
the coins your moving the coin bank every time its an Australian one so he's not actually choosing
I have a parakeet that look like your...it was a she...her name was.pretty bird...was 30 year old and die this year. 4 month...
God that jewelry though...
Get him a job at a bank 👌😊😘
that’s not a parakeet but go off
Isn't this bad for the bird? Those coin are dirty and he gonna get led poison from it.
