I really do appreciate you mixing up the content, one week we get a discussion on the GOATs of the game, one week we get a regional champion or a top contender or like this week we get a discussion on the upcoming set. that being said, I believe the best card is def the unfair stamp, not looking forward to playing vs that one! the worst card is probably timburr, it’s got a really cool art rare but two retreat, 80 hp and an attack that only deals damage on heads sadly doesn’t even look appealing for prerelease play… also aneil, you should get a bucket hat with a flame-pattern!

I can't believe we haven't seen Aneil wearing a Buc-ees bucket hat yet. You must be saving that for a very special occasion. Tatsugiri hands down the best card in the set. Performance flute is annoyingly good which makes it the worst card in the set 😂. Thanks for uploading another great episode!

I think the Secret Box is absolutely stupid. If you just draw into it, it just sets you up into an absolutely broken turn. Decks with digging power will find use in it. The Bibarel Skwovet engine, the Kirlia engine, and even just searching it with Pidgeot ex can kinda just win you the game.
While it is crazy powerful when you draw it, I don't see a consistent way to get it early enough to make an impact. Even in the example you gave you'd have bibarel and kirlia set up. At that point do you even need Secret Box anymore? - Ciaran
@@ShiftGearPodcast Just being a search for a supporter on an item is strong enough IMO. Pokegear or Lumineon is the best you get normally and those have their downsides. It definitely has a home in some decks. Is it better than Prime catcher? Probably not.

It searches boss for game, counter catcher, the tool to help KO, the Iono, the Pokemon search if necessary, Forest Seal Stone, I mean I could go on. I would play it in a lost zone deck to search all of your pieces.

I can’t wait to crush some souls with Blissey ex. 😂 just wait until you see Blissey with a max belt. I already have the perfect deck setup with the Mew 151 Chanseys and Bloodmoon ursaluna. 🔥 might even see an iron leaves in there. 💯
The best card is Teal Mask Ogerpon ex because it's a pretty card. The worst card is Teal Mask Ogerpon ex because it got my hopes up and it just isn't that great 🤔
I think dragapult has the potential to be a tier 1/2 deck. I also think the festival engine is hot garbage, it bricks as soon as you force a thwackey into the active

@easyygo3008 sometimes that one turn of the opponent building advantage while your stuck with no search trying to switch out the thwackey is enough to swing momentum in a game. And let's not even start on if you get trapped vs lost box without jirachi

Lost zone decks MU is a free win for festival more often than not as long as you don't brick which shouldn't happen often as you are a 3-4 energy deck with stage 1's. The main reason is that festival is taking 2 PRIZES per turn while LZ is not. This mean they can't slow down the game early with comfey/giratina v leads. The only single prizers that tank the first attack are greninja and cramo. Giratina v can also tank the apple, but.. vitality band decimates giratina V and cramo equally and is 1 arven/thwackey away from happening. In that position, you are forced to kill the apple, and you will get retaliated by unfair stamp at the first KO. Which puts you in a very fragile position with low chaces of recovery as you are 2-4 prizes down to their 4-5 and have two cards in hand without extra comfeys/greninja. The MU really won't get to the point where sable eye will matter. Also, again, you are assuming they drew nothing which is kinda unreliable Also, the first moment you kill an apple, they will retaliate back with stamp, which destroys lost zone decks in the early game. If you have been paying attention to JP meta, lost zone was making a comeback until the meta shift towards unfair stamp started happening. Lost tina is now tier 2 again while future box/ancientbox & moon virtually disappeared in the tier 3 category.

What exactly is the play there with sableye? You are 3-4 prizes down, they are 1 prize down & have 2 in hand
I have an amazing swim freely Seaking build that I've been cooking for almost as long as the card has been oit, it's getting really good. However new goldeen is not good in it unfortunately

idk if it would change the ranking for Dragapult ex but jirachi does not block the damage counters. Jirachi only blocks damage counters from basics
