Definition of "Thank you"

I am a 21 year college student. Recently I struggled emotionally after breaking up with my boyfriend but watching your video has helped me overcome emotional turbulence. "You don't have compassion." That was the last word from my ex boyfriend. I agree with him. I am fearful to repeat the mistake in the future relationship. What can I do to become grateful and compassionate?
