I`m going full circle back to all Rega gear except for my REL sub and Totem Tribe Tower speakers. I just bought a new Elex r and am looking to purchase a new or used Aria for my P6 with Ania Pro cart. Thanks for posting, excellent as usual!
Dear Rohit.. Hello from Denmark. I very much enjoy all your Rega videos. Very informative and well put together.. ..,But please Sir, You need to fix your video audio ! I Literally stopped this video 4 times because i thought i had a fly or a whasp buzzing around somewhere in my room..! Hi-end Audio videos `sell` better when they sound good.. :) Carsten, Denmark.
Hi, just come across your channel. Very informative. I’m using Musical Fidelity Mx Vynl with pro ject debut pro with Ortofon 2m blue. How do you compare this Rega with Mx Vynl? Is it worth upgrading? Thanks.
Rohit, just found your site and have been looking at this phono preamp. I have an older p3 with the original sumiko blue point. The original Vincent black box mm/mc went out so this phono stage I am considering. what cart did you use or recommend to pair with it?
Did you try the MM input and you think this is a good match with a P3 Exact and Aethos amp? I do like a more full bodied and warm sound, which i think both the rega eac and Exact cartridge gives (currently using fono mm stage) so will likely stay with the exact from within the rega range at least 🙂
I did try the MM using an ortofon 2M after making the review. While it definitely had body and weight to the sound, it didn’t impart warmth that wasn’t on the recording itself. And, I have not listened to the Exact make music. I read a lot of good things about the MM Exact’s performance tho.
@@analogholic_reviews Thanks Buddy 👍 I took a chance on a used one, so should be able to shift if it’s not to my liking. After buying way too much gear piecemeal (most of which did not have great synergy), I’m in the process of selling stuff to finance an all Rega front end, centered around the lovely Aethos. Let’s hope it all ends well 🤞😀
@@RigVader I just upgraded to the Rega Aethos. Using a P6 with Exact-2mm and Aria MK3. Also using a REL T5x sub and KEF R3 speakers. Sounds amazing! I’m too afraid to move to an MC cartridge and fiddle with settings and potential dislike … LoL. I think the system you’re suggesting would sound great!! What speakers do you use?
@@saltaormina9404 Yes, the Aethos is great! I mainly run some older B&W Nautilus 805 and sometimes the Buchardt S400 MK1. Both sound much more right, than with any other amplifier I tried ( let's say a few :p )! Also tried it with the KLH Model 5's, which I didn't feel it did anything special for (not worse than other amps, but not the same obvious synergy). I haven't tried the Aria with the Aethos, but I did try it briefly with my previeous amp and found it to be somewhat worse than the Fono MM, in that it revealed more of what I wasn't too keen about with the P3-24/Exact combo.. I don't have much experience with vinyl, but I'm assuming that I need to step up to a better/later generation table to be happy - P6 or P8. But like you I'm hesitant to make the investment... audiophelia nervousa is real!! 🙂 My brillant old Rega Dac did have clear synergy with the Aethos, so I'm crossing my fingers that this combination will somehow be the magic pill. Btw. I also use a Rel Subs and love it 🙂
Hi just get a Aria mk1 - it's the same internals & it bettered my friends Cyrus Signature, the Cyrus only equalled it with a PSU added. All the people who state that these phono stages below 2k are better, are mostly basing this on the user interface, dip switches vs front panel controls! Keep an eye open on ebay for mk1 or mk2's - they usually go quickly!
@@ConnahJay probably cheaper would be my guess but check out the mini a/d I have one and it is respectable at 175 bucks but the other thing is to be able to record from tt to computer is pretty cool on free Audacity kind of fun.

Another great review Rohit - it's nice to see a new Rega Aria video so new comers can have a reference point - well done sir!
Thanks EV!
You're one of the best hifi reviewers here in yt. Another pleasant video. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words!

Hello Carsten, I will certainly look into the buzzing and fix the audio issue. Perhaps the Mic Idk. But will look into it asap. Thanks.

I don’t have either of them with me at the moment. But I do recall more dynamics from the Aria.
@@analogholic_reviews Thank you very much.
Hi Rohit, great video. Would you recommend the Aria for a high output MC cartridge? I have got a Dynavector 20x2 High. Thank you.
Thank you 🙏. Yes, I would recommend the Aria for HOMC. I have heard from happy Aria users that use it with the 20x2H.

I loved the combination of the dynavectors (10x5, 20x2L, xx2mk2) on my older P5. They will make a superb team with the Aria as well.
