    Thank you for the informative video.
    I have 2 stents inserted 3 years ago. I am 78 and do not drink or smoke and, I have been a plant-based eater for 10 years
    My cardiologist diagnosed me with AF (which I have never had symptoms from) after some tests were run, and he put me on Blood Thinners. I asked him if that might mean as an otherwise healthy individual that blood thinners might not be appropriate. He said, and I quote, " Well, it's wonderful that you care about animals enough to stop eating them, but DIET has no impact on your heart health". I fired him and am currently looking for a cardio specialist that considers Diet/lifestyle as important tools for heart health. Here in Australia there are very few doctors that know anything about nutrition, and most will not talk about nutrition because of their lack of training /knowledge on the topic. Maybe my frustration is causing my AF?

    Thank you Dr Montgomery for the information. I am very frustrated with my brother’s Cardiologist and PCP. My brother has A Fib. He has had 8 Cardioversions and 3 Ablations. I asked him to challenge his doctors who are just telling him it’s just an electrical problem in the heart and there is nothing else to do other than medications and procedures. My brother has obesity, Type 2 diabetes, wears a c pap machine and still drinks alcohol but his doctors don’t seem to consider lifestyle changes as part of the treatments. I’m guessing he’s bringing lots of money in for the hospital since he comes in for procedures often so there is no incentive to help patients actually get better.

    Great video. After 7 marathons and serving in a combat unit, I developed Afib a year ago. I have been able to stop it by losing 15 lbs, reducing alcohol by 90% and mostly eating salads. I fear the return at some future point, so opting for an ablation. Your slide on lifestyle change + ablation was exactly the data I've been searching for!

      Magnesium sorted mine in two days it came back when I stopped taking it on holidays so I kept taking it. Just the rda of cheapest one I could find. Or 400mg. Years of going to doctors and a random lady at the pharmacy suggested magnesium. Sorted it completely along with many other things over time.

    I have Afib. I refuse blood thinners. I take the other 2 meds. My blood should be thin. I don't eat meat,dairy and I'm quiting junk food. I do go into afib once in a while. The last 3 times I'm on the way to hospital and it goes back to sinus on its own. Since the better lifestyle my heart rate isn't almost 200 it in the 130 beats.when I've been in afib. When not it's 50s I take 50 mg of flecnaide but I cut the pill in half so it's only 25 mg. Half in morning and half at night. I take only 25 mg. Of metoprolol. I always pop a eliquis if go into afib. I want off all meds. We are moving to Dallas area next year. I will come and see you. I'm in California. My blood pressure is very good. No diabetes cholesterol is little high but not bad. I'm getting ready to do blood work. I know I should tale Bld thinners but it scares me. But so does strokes. Bit I don't stay in afib long. What do you think?

I’ve been working out in average of 4-6 days a week and is still sometimes experiencing slight chest discomfort. I have lost a few pounds but I’m told to not be discouraged about my weight loss because muscle mass weighs more than fat. I’m eating more fruits and veggies and cutting out dairy, meat, bread and white rice. My current meds are aspirins, metoprolol, ezetimibe and bi-weekly injections of repatha. I’m in need of an actual natural therapeutic plan. I will be reaching out to you for an appointment. Thanks again for sharing such much needed information. 🙏🏾

    Ceyenne pepper magnesium vitmin c natto or nattokinase and vitamink2 and k1. People get ablated without even having a magnesium cell test. Two days of magneisum by afib was gone. It came back when i stopped taking it on holiday. But i spoke to many afib forums and people had ha dmultiple ablations and never even heard of magnesium. Its very craxy when ee know low mgamesium is one cause of this.

    • @Padraigp
      @Padraigp Месяц назад +2

      @paulbirkbeck1790 magnesium taurate us good for your brain i believe but u find it too expensive. Magnesium oxide is the worst kind for absorption although very cheap I don't think it's worth it. I just use magnesium citrate it's quite cheap but better than oxide...I think there is also chelate and other kinds but I don't know much about those tbh. I also couldn't afford the expensive kind. My mom uses magnesium taurate it's supposed to be good for neurological things like migrains as it passes the blood brain barrier so I've taken hers when I visit her and didn't notice much difference. The only thing I do know is if you take large amounts of mag citrate it can cause loose poops but I only take about 250 to 500 mg and I take it at night so it doesn't bother me. But it bothers some people's tummy so in that case you might need to split the dose or start slowly and work up to more. There's so much research even on just one mineral its quite overwhelming for me and maybe I'm not taking the most absorbable best kind but I figured that 2 less absorbable kind is still cheaper than 1 expensive kind so if its half as absorbable then I'll just take 2 cheaper. I have not tried liquid except for spray massage magnesium oil which is great for muscles. That is all I know I'm afraid. Best of luck to you! And good health 👍

    Can you do a video on Junctional rhythm. My son had an episode last summer where he had every symptom of a heart attack except chest pain. His troponin went up to 70 then 120 (something) then 170 (something). It came down after that. His heart kept going into a junctional rhythm and he had multiple PVCs. The nurse said before we left that he had some pauses and irregularities in rhythm too. He gets dizzy often and cannot exercise without feeling weak. He was seen at Dallas children but the only explanation we got was “it was a fluke”.

    If an ECG is done, are PCPs or specialists to discuss outcomes and treatments recommendations from the point of ECG evaluations, in the managed care Medicare systems?
    Are there any situations where upon getting an ECG one is "rushed" to surgery right afte the evaluation? Is that average expectation?
    Do you think BP cuffs might be set to high or misused in some settings?( just a general opinion as I know you aren't familiar with the details of all health facilities)

    Do Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anemia cause higher risk of atrial fibrillation, greater risk of kidney disease (bcz the kidney has to work harder to produce erythropoiten to make red blood cells since their red blood cells have shorter life span than 3 months, and do these patients tend to have higher HbA1C (in the borderline pre-diabetic to diabetic range) even though they have excellent lipid profile (low cholesterol, triglycerides, etc) and are 99% plant based, eating an egg or small sardines once a week only? HbA1C measures how sticky the blood is. Since people with Thalassemia or Sickle Cell have red blood cells that are not round, I think that makes their blood more sticky. Are you aware of eating natto preventing microclots in the blood? My observation is that such patients are also more sensitive to salt. Their bloodd pressure rises fast when eatig a salty meal compared to someone without these conditions. They seem more likely to have blood circulation problems. I notice more people with these disease cinditions go on dualysis if they are not plant based. Do you have clinical data to support my epidemiologic observations?
