- The day was freezing and we met a local that would take Jamie O'Brian and I out to Foil the wake of a huge Cargo Ship. The waters outside the bridge felt super sharky and Im glad we pulled it off!
Awesome! Did exactly that for 10 years at that spot on foil or windsurfing. On a big ebb, tanker waves are muuuuuch bigger.
I've seen some pretty big tanker waves on the Columbia River (6-8'), but it really depends on the tide and current and the direction of the ship.

I going to try water-skiing behind a great lakes tanker (Superior in December is beauty). I think I'm going to need a longer tow rope.

Here is a plumbers trick.
When carrying a pipe on your shoulder, you can wrap your arm up over the top of the pipe.
This brings muscle up to protect the bone.
Maybe this technique will work as you carry the foil on you shoulder.

What is the dangerous part? It’s no different than falling in while wing foiling except you have a support boat.
Way to tow in shark infested waters. You look like shark week when they tow a decoy in hopes of getting a breach!!

Yea, that wasn't a good cargo ship. You should upgrade to a Mike's Lab foil, the thing you were riding looks prehistoric! Here is a good video of a proper cargo ship ride:
