    44 years old and divorced, feel like life has truly fked me over. But then isn't it amazing, this soundtrack takes me right back to happier times. I must have been around 10 years old and playing this in the arcades, no worries, no women, no bullsht, just me and that steering wheel, driving that Testarossa. This provides a brief, yet much needed release.

      As I understand you ... At the time my grandparents and my parents were still alive ... No need to work to pay the rent ... I also suffered a divorce ....
      The strength of these music, of these old games, is to instantly bring us back to a happy period, which allows us to feel better about ourselves.
      Thank you for your touching comment.

    The sound of pure nostalgia.. i must have been seven years old and on holiday in Mallorca. This machine entranced me - the exotic red Ferrari, the amazing graphics (kids, don't laugh), but most of all, the beautiful soundtrack.
    Without getting too boring, these 80s video game composers did not have a lot to work with in terms of sounds or numbers of tracks. But that's what makes this soundtrack even more impressive.
    The music stayed with me all these years, forging my musical identity and, I believe, played a big part in my eventual career... as a musician.
    Splash Wave will always be my jam (some cheeky bass lines in there!) and whenever I hear it I'll forever be transported back to that hotel in Mallorca, the sunshine, that cabinet, my family.. those memories will never fade ❤

    It was 1988 back in the old country. I was a young kid and saw the truck pulled up at the arcade I was at. They rolled out Outrun. The game tester didn't play for 2 mins...he got through the entire game without continues. I don't know if that was a promo or he was showing off but man. Everyone stopped playing their game and gravitated to this machine. Nostalgia my people! The arcade days...

    This video does bring back memories! It was 35 years ago... I was 13 then, playing this game almost every day in a small arcade game place as I was on vacation near the sea on the west coast of France. It was the simple cabinet version yet so much fun! The graphics quality was quite revolutionary at the time. I have come to love everything in the game, the music of course but also the small bugs such as the Ferrari logo unexpectedly changing orientation when the car moves, or the lanes sometimes disappearing on the road... One day when coming back at the hotel where we were staying my parents and I, we found a red Testarossa parked in the small yard in front of the building. Truly an amazing car that I will never forget.

    Cette musique (en 1ere partie) est je crois, la 1ere à m'avoir filé des émotions. J'avais 6 ans environs quand je regardais mes grands cousins jouer à Outrun.
    Et bizarrement, je la trouvais triste. Mon cousin de mon âge s'était même foutu de ma gueule quand j'avais dit ça 🤣🤣🤣
    Mais c'est juste qu'il n'avait pas l'oreille. Peu de personne arrivent à le déceler, mais il y a de la tristesse derrière certains morceaux qui n'ont pas l'air triste en façade.

    • @passionjeuxvideotv
      @passionjeuxvideotv  Год назад

      Moi même qui connais les morceaux par coeur je ne les trouvent pas triste, mélancolique à la rigueur pour certains morceaux .....
      Ce qui me surprend, c'est le choix des musiques, quand tu y joue tu ne fait pas gaffe, ça match avec ta partie, mais en faisant cette vidéo d'OST je me suis rendu compte que les musiques n'ont rien à voir avec un jeu de course, elle sont soft, calme, une musique à écouter sur ton transat sur la plage avec ton cocktail en main en somme ...... et pourtant elle match si bien avec ce jeu de course nerveux ou le temps joue contre toi ...... aller plus vite, bien négocier les virages, ne pas faire d'erreur ..... cette contradiction constante entre le jeu et la musique le tout en symbiose me fascine.

    • @douze.rounds
      @douze.rounds Год назад

      @@passionjeuxvideotv c'est pour ça que j'ai précisé que peu de personnes ressentent cette tristesse ou mélancolie. Mais je pense que l'image dont tu parles en commentaire, masque justement l'émotion transmise par la musique.
      Après ya pas de vérité là-dessus. Notre ressenti est différent d'une personne à l'autre. C'est ce qui est dingue avec la musique. Ça procure des effets différents selon les personnes. C'est limite de la magie.
      Peace 🤝

It was the cabinet with a seat so I had to sit up cause I was too small to reach the wheel otherwise. One time some older kids were standing behind me watching me play and they said I was really good at the game. In retrospect I really wasn't, couldn't even reach the third stage I think, but hey it made me feel great those older kids complimented me! 35 years later, I still enjoy playing this game from time to time through Mame, just brings me back to an easier time.

    Great run, music, and game. My personal record was 26 seconds left (but this is back in early 90s when I was in High School) :) Now I can't probably pass the 1st stage :p

      I played again last night after almost thirty years. I managed to get to the finish on my first run, however only with six seconds left. And it seemed so hard to beat back in the day... Maybe it has something to do with me now being an adult with a driving license 😉
