You can build a home for much cheaper if you hire everything yourself and act as your own contractor. Home builders usually make aboutn a 30% profit on the total cost of a house. Price today shock me, I acted as my own builder, and built my house in 1995 for 40,000$ . It's small.. but not tiny. 750 square feet with an 11 foot vaulted ceiling, and everything ir normal size inside.. it's basically a nice sized 1 bedroom apartment on a foundation.

They missed the boat on this list. I have researched 7 companies on this list. I bought a Birmingham model from Incredible Tiny Homes out of Newport Tennessee. Check this company out with a wide range of tiny homes and awesome prices. I'm really grateful to Incredible Tiny Homes. They made a durable forever home, which im completely satisfied to enjoy in my retirement. They also employ the Amish, so you know you get quality.
Lol I'm no bot 😂. They have more than 4 models. I've physically seen many of these homes in this list as a video can be deceiving. I finally settled with ITH. The build quality is top notch. I paid 105k which is cheap in my books. I could have gone cheaper with an Champion or Clayton or Karlston Industry standard park model trailer but didn't want a low quality home made of cheap materials.
ITH definitely makes more than 4 models and their prices start at $20k They have some that are much higher, but you get more sq ft and other options as well.
@@JoesLife89 On wheels no property taxes and insurance is far cheaper than insurance on a house but you should investigate land and town ordinances because many areas don't allow for tiny homes. The tiny homes builders should also have info on this.

Tiny homes are just a new version of a “trailer” without the age old stigma of living in a “trailer” or “mobil home”. Throw a different roof & siding & it’s a tiny home. Nothing wrong with this mind you but it is what it is.
Don't worry that you didn't mention ITH in your list. There are reasons to suspect they are not all they seem. Lots of complaints, and ever growing dissatisfaction with them. Not sure they deserve it, but people should do their research on them for sure.
There are floating ships made from wet concrete on form. In the UK there have been wet concrete on fabric (& form) Quonset huts. IT SEEMS STANDARD HAMMER & NAIL CONSTRUCTION IS BEING SHOW, as opposed to compressed air nail gun & PREFAB.
You missed the boat. At least half the homes were way out of reach for most, especially those whose aim is to be debt free. You also missed the two best builders out there. Incredible Tiny Homes works in the true Tiny Home philosophy of simplicity and affordability. Chattanooga Tiny Homes is one of the best out there. They were my chosen builder b4 I had to change plans due to family obligations. When I was looking for a Japanese soaking tub in odd dimensions to get thru my odd doorways, I thought of Chattanooga. They had featured a custom tub in a home. I wrote them, detailing my change of plans, and my need for a custom tub. I just wanted their manufacturer’s info. They did so much better. Chattanooga’s owner conferred with my bath contractor, and had a tub made and sent to me. That’s both stellar customer service, and the type of humanity that is hard to find. I will never forget both their kindness and professionalism…and I adore my Japanese soaking tub.💜
Obvious if it rolls, it must conform to a lane format [OR] scheduled off hour delivery with Lead & perhaps tail MARKER Vehicles. Tiny homes could be assembled double wide but made on a foundation as permanent.
Lastly, Compare Volume & Square Footage TO STEEL BUILDINGS ON CEMENT FOUNDATION. I am about 5 miles away from many examples in my rural community. So there is structure cost, AND FINISH (the insides) COST. It still is coming in a lot cheaper.
I am seeing a lot of Foo-Foo. The construction (while desiring square-ness) does not need to be "Furniture Grade." I.E. : * Rough carpentry. * Finish carpentry. * Cabinent grade & custom carpentry. * The highest would be furniture grade carpentry.
Although yes the tiny house movement intrigues me it isn't practical for me. I'm mobility disabled, dependent on a wheelchair. Also im very interesting in the rate of breakins and how safe they are.😊

So true. Incredible Tiny Homes is about solutions.. a wheel chair is not a problem. They create homes at good quality prices for anyone. You can get a small home easy for a wheelchair bedroom on same floor. no need for a loft. They also have communities for the homes all over the states. Their best community is where the homes are built in Tennessee. Plus they are down home good ppl

We started with original young ppl who wanted to do simple and cheap and built their own homes from scrap wood pallets and…. Creative kids.. Son died Idea also but still dream one day have my own but I live in The Netherlands now and not the thing here yet bc of space. But America it is perfect for and especially ppl retiring or are handicapped bc of the community all tiny home places seem to create bc you get out of house. Space outside is as important as inside. At Incredible Tiny Home watched them start from nothing but a good idea from a couple of good old down home Americans who work for what they have. No billionaires or corporations. In my day the 60-70s we would have called them hippies.😂 Just good smart caring ppl. Point is. They have homes at 25,000.. Not selling you I am just passing on the dream that is the future for a large part of the world. Can move them and you can stay in one place. They cost less, less cleaning and help the environment. Check out Incredible Tiny Homes. They make small affordable and also homes you can add on to with another tiny box house..add a box..many options, choices and good quality and prices from good ppl.
Just like everything else corporate greed comes along n it go from being an alternative yet affordable way of living to a for profit greedy business and no longer being designed and for sale for the ppl that the ideal was originally based on. A affordable but beautifully way of living in a tiny home now a days just don’t make sense to the avg consumer due to the high costs that actually cost the same if not more then a traditional house it just don’t make any sense atp smh

OF ALLLLLL THE BUILDING FORMATS.... TINY HOMES SHOULD be the most conducive to PREFABRICATION ASSEMBLY. Whatever Sections are conducive to Plumbing. Wiring (MOST) could even be interior conduit on walls for 110Vac. Ventilation ducts could be interior exposed.
I was surprised 2 of the builders I've been looking at, some of the largest, aren't on your list. It seems your list is mostly smaller companies so that might be the reason ITH, Indigo River Tiny Homes, and Minamaliste aren't there. (You included Mint which is a Canadian builder but not Minimaliste, also Canadian, so the video should probably be North America instead of USA/and also that the list includes Luxury tinies not just regular tinies... New Frontier is lux and Escher which I love, starts at 235k not 180k as per their website/they are beautiful if you can afford it) And Wheelhaus doesn't even make THOWs??

yeah 95k for a tiny home is NOT affordable, and 180k is just freaking ludicrus , at least in my area. I guess for NYC or San Francisco 180k is cheap

Most of these tiny homes are nice, but some cost as much as regular houses.
Some of these are a bit silly. The ones costing more than $100k. I'd rather just buy a regular size home if I spend $150k-250k.

Saw the ‘alpha’ price starts at 225k per the company website…that’s quite a leap from the claim in the video of 95k. Maybe I missed something.
