Cool lessons. Bonamassa is a great blues player with excellent technique. I wouldn't call it stealing since there are only 12 notes in western music, it is highly unlikely anything that can be played, hasn't been played before.
The licks are definitely borrowed from Eric Johnson, but you have to give Bonamassa credit for doing what Eric and Yngwie couldn't do. That is use this soloing in great rock/blues songs. Joe is the complete package. Eric is a guitar instrumental virtuoso, not a singer/songwriter.
Its all good. Bonamassa's entire fame is due to him blatantly (and its not even that nice) stealing 98% of Eric Johnson's style. The entire EJ lick playbook, not just a few or some. At least he doesn't deny it and he did develop his own style as the years went on, but him and Eric Gales owe A LOT to Eric Johnson.

Well spoken!
👍👍🍺
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Wouldn't be Lick 4 (4notes) be way easier, when played on 2 strings instead of 3 strings?
You mean lick 3?? If so then yes, I demonstrate it on 3 strings as Joe plays it, then on two strings at about 2:45
@@troydownwardmusic Of course you are right. I should think twice before commenting....🤐
@@esp901 no worries at all!

I’d say yes of course, but he also has his own kind of vibe which I dig too as you said. Thanks for watching!
@@troydownwardmusic You're welcome bud.
@@lelandgaunt7130 To be fair to Joe, I'd say that at least Joe is a much better singer haha but it's all good. Tons of talent all around!
How about other talents he has : his voice ( no pitch correction) and brilliant songwriting .
@ he does get a bad wrap but when I watch his live shows I’m ALWAYS entertained!
