Yep I agree Mosfets and Transistors are the way to go Iv watched other channels use relays if seen some good results what do you think about Feraday Research motor let me know
Thanks for your comment and watching! Mike is a very smart guy he seems to have found a switch and combination that works. He seems to get great results. I've also had good results using them in the past when I first started building motors but have not ever found a switch that can be reliable enough for long term use.
I agree that a relay is only good for testing and not for long term use. I run 113 volt on the big wheel and it use to eat relays😅. I've gotten pretty good at making homemade Mechanical magnet switches . I will say there is some strange effects ive only seen with a Mechanical switch. I honestly believe the back emf should be thrown away. Or lighta led with it . And glad to see your back doing videos.👍👍 .@@windpowerandmore6310
Makes you wonder if a passing magnet would effect the test results. I know a mechanical switch can act like a diode. Guess it's a downfall not having a oscope.
@@make425 you can use capacitor to speed up or slow down yes. More farad slower . But a relay will never switch faster than a Transistor because transistors switch solid state. For explanation purposes we explain them as switches and that they are
Did you happen to see the recent video I posted with the Monopole comparison? I've not been able to find a relay that can do what that big mosfet can do yet I've tried every relay i find just out of curiosity.
Great demo ! I love the mosfets !
No doubt about it lol

@make425 it doesn't change the results I have a video with the same setup shown on a monopole motor with the same results mosfets always work better
❤
👍
If they made relay contacts with more surface area they would outperform NPN only by transmission efficiency not frequency of course . (opinion)
Yeah I agree
Can't the frequency be changed on the relay by adding a capacitors?
@make425 no it only opens and closes so fast because it's mechanical

@@make425 and a transistor will never out match surface area of contacts , well double check my statement here thay may have advanced the tech by now
more pronounced on the negative side , less pronounced on the positive. (SPIKE) >> Mosfet.
Definitely!
