I enjoy working on projects of this sort - the liners lack the felt insert of the originals so I rubber cement grey felt between the liner band and leather liner. I did try the chicken wire and managed to age the helmet with a splattering of blood from punctures and minor cuts. Decals can be tricky. Painting is the easy part. Nice work!
You should buy a better reproduction from international military antiques or from epic milita also a site called at the front they sell better helmets from the look of things you do a good job with painting just saying anyways you did a good job hiding it’s flaws mostly
Honestly it looks just like the real thing, haters will disagree but in reality it looks like any helmet that could've been taken off of any German soldat in that time

the air vent hole is not placed from factory at the correct place: hard to find a correct copy of german helmet......Anyway thanks for sharing : )
