I visited your channel before, but notice that you have not done any videos for 2 years, i hope you are well and i was wondering if you are planning on doing any more? The S1a or any of the pentax are popular ones for working on and the one thing that seems to be missing from the internet is curtain / shutter replacements or maintenance. For now as i say i hope your well but your teaching is very good and clear easy to watch and follow. Regards David
I've looked through parts of this video so many times as a reference when fixing spotmatics. it has been a big help, thank you! more pentax disassembly videos please!
@@YAHOOOOOO5 Yes the winner got this cam, unfortunately the prize winner didn’t give us any updates afterwards. Thus not making a video after it. I’m actually quite disappointed aswell. More off pissed of actually. Hopefully u got your answer mehn.
I deserve this camera because I love the feeling of shooting in film. The process of shooting in a film camera gives a different feeling. It's like a magic.
Hello po! I've been into film photography lately and manage to bought a point and shoot camera after saving for almost a year. If ever I'll win this giveaway, it would be such an honor and saves me a lot of money for having an slr camera. Thank you for giving out this opportunity po sir!
Makes me want to buy a 3rd Spotmatic, a junker, just to overhaul it. I've done some work on mines but not that deep yet. I'm saving this for future use because it's GOLD.
Been following this Filmstrip Flips since I got into film photography last year! It's always satisfying to watch cameras getting broken down and fixed again. Getting a Pentax Spotmatic (an SLR), would widen my choices when shooting film since I use a PnS. Hoping for this channel's succes in the future! :)
Great videos, very informative! We get to know the parts of a camera aside from knowing how to service them. I have a project in mind that an interchangeable camera would be helpful. Currently have a fixed lens rangefinder and a PnS. This channel deserves more subscribers, hope you get to 1k soon!
Thanks man for this video.. i have a question ..after i disasembly my camera i have problem with dust in the upper glass ..below the pentaprism..how can i avoid? Indint understand where it comes from and how enters in the glass
Hi. I've got one old SP in black finish with lots of overhauling to do. Any advice for getting rid of the metallic smell it leaves in my hands? Thanks.
Solid video po ulit as always, Sir Allan! I always learn something new in every video you put out 😄 Shout out din kanila Sir Boyet of film4ever! I've purchased cameras from them and they're really nice and very reliable!
@@Filmstripflips Thanks for responding. Yea, I think I see what you are talking about. I removed the top again and I can see the spring in there. I'm just not sure how to get it out of the way.
@@Filmstripflips With the top off. I was able to find the spring causing the interference. Pulling it out of the way was simple. I'm back in business. Thanks.
Those shims are important to align the lens to the film plane. Keep track where they come out of. Reverse screw. The head will snap off if you mess this up, most cameras will not have them. Where is the ASA shutter speed strings to adjust the meter most cameras will have them and if fall off if you are not careful. How do you get the battery cover off once a battery leaks inside.
Thank you po for the giveaway! I deserve this camera because nothing makes me quite as happy as film photography. I love everything about it and learning all that I can. I feel the most comfortable when I'm behind the camera, and I can't describe anything more magical than being able to document and preserve a moment tangibly on film.
I have an Spotmatic SP too, it works well except the light meter, it only reads well at the bulb position, i can adjust the needle with the aperture ring, but when i change the speeds it goes down, any idea or sugestion? Thanks in advance.
So i have a spotmatic with a jammed film advance lever. What do you recommend? I believe the gears at the bottom have siezed up and i am not sure how to get deeper into that system
Me and my sister deserve this giveaway because this is our long time dream to have our own filn camera like this pentax spotmatic. If we win we will apply what we learn on watching so many videos about films.
Heyy so I just started getting into film I have been interested for a while but I haven’t had the time as work and school has been all over the place, I have been looking for a good camera and have read a lot about this one. This would help me out greatly to start my journey as I will be traveling back to my home country to visit a sick family member and along the way capture great sights and pictures of life there. Thanks for reading much love and good luck to the rest❤️
Hello and thanks for the video! Can you please tell me how exactly these nice adjustable spanners you use are called and where one can get them. If anybody knows where to source them from in Europe and in particular how they are called in German, that would be great. I tried searching for "Stirnlochschlüssel", which I think is the German term, but I did not find this type of adjustable fine spanners so far.
Siguro tulad ng ibang entry the reason why I deserve to win in this giveaway is that I also want to learn more about photography. There are other ways to learn, however learning through film camera seems to be the best way kasi it brings us back to the basics of photography. Also, since then I am fascinated with it wala lang chance to explore 'cause I can't afford to buy given that I am still a student.
i currently am simply using an old film camera passed down by my granparents, i have always wanted to buy a new film camera. I have just started getting into analog last year over quarantine bc i fell in love with my parents stories about the negatives they kept. i would love to be able to win this giveaway hehehe
I've been inlove sa process and also sa result of photos sa film photography however I can't afford myself on buying on pa. If ever I win this giveaway, this will be my first ever film camera 🥺
I deserve to get this cause I want to give it as a present to my brother, he's been asking me a lot about film photography, I can see that he's really passionate to learn so I let him borrow my film camera to let him explore the basics and this beautiful SLR is quite a catch, I'm always "too late" to get this one on the market T_T I really want to influence him the value of having those moments documented in films and hope that he may also inspire some of his friends to have one cause on today's generation Film is obviously not Dead haha
i started to have massive interest in photography when i was thirteen. as i grew up, my fascination in taking photographs grew out as well. i only use disposable film camera so if ever i will be lucky enough to win this giveaway, this will be my very first slr film camera ! but most importantly, i have been meaning to learn more about shooting with film camera for a long time :-) edit: oh, and my birthday is in june, this will definitely be the perfect birthday gift.
I was always a big fan of film cameras ever since I touched one when I was 8 years old. I'm 16 now and still don't own one. I use my brother's, but whenever we go on a trip I would borrow his and he wouldn't let me because it's also his hobby. That's why I deserve to win the giveaway. Not only being stubborn to shoot film on my own, but at 16 years of age, I realized that there's much more when it comes to shooting film. The wonders and mysticism in shooting film are just like a fantasy. You don't know what to expect when shooting film, that's why it's exciting. I also encouraged my classmates to shoot film just for the essence of it. I want to be an influence on today's generation that the essence of something being documented on film is nothing but a feeling that you can pass on to everyone. I live by #filmisnotdead
