Love the Farm Flix Fridays, keep them coming! As for the shear grab I would recommend a Prodig as they seem to be the best out their. We recently got one of their grabs and I would definitely recommend it!
Hello, Alan could do demonstration on shear grabs🤔. Bit cheaper than buying one. Farm flix is a big brand. Great advertising for engineering, red rock, Johnston, Fleming????? 👌👌👌👌
Great video. Near the end of lambing and Alan hasn't had a sense of humour failure! Bit wicked of Tom to make Alan think he was getting a new Merlo though.
Just need to sort your tines out. Once you loose one it puts extra pressure on the one next to it. Get the 2 big outside ones fixed then bend all the others straight again and she will keep going for years. Couple hundred quid in tines and bushes plus afew welding rods. Better then few grand for new grab.
had a shear grab for 17 years and she was welded numerous times to be fair to it though it spent 17 years cutting single chop silage from an NC harvester
Redrock is the only shear grab. Can the front blades can be replaced very easily as they are bolted in also the side knifes are bolted in. Built very strong and last long. We have one in our yard safely 20+ years old
Have a 6ft parameter shear grab that my old fella bought second hand in 2002. Still got the original cutting edges on it. We did make a new tine bar for it around 2006 but other than that it's been faultless. Wonder why parameter went out of business. 🤔
Are you sure you can still get a new mchale shear grab . I thought they stopped making them 8 or 9 years ago that its just the bale splitters they make now ??
Prodig or maybe quicke are built like tanks and would last even a rash lad like yourself years and years 😉 we have a quicke ourselves and has almost all 3/4 inch thick steel on all the frame
Could go on Done deal and buy a couple of grabs the same model and disconnect and close up the rams on 1 youd be alright in a emergency or for spare rams, sell the old 1 on there to help pay 😂
I say get a johnson sherr crab good make we got a brand new 1 back in 2019 and nothing has broke on it yet.Don't forget u have to get ur wallet out to buy ole tom his new quad😂😂
Its a Johnson one he has already? I bought one at the start of the year. Pretty disappointed with how much you can fit in it. It doesn't open up enough at all. MC Milkingit channel has a good one on a jcb.
"Yes let me just run off here to go grab a pair of latex gloves and stretch them on while that ewe is having a hard time birthing" because literally every farming man and woman has the time to do this.
Alan Cycle farm videos are the best, sarcastic comments and digs all the way!!
Don't forget to put the quad for olde Tom on the shopping list. 😁
He's getting him a Gator, Tom can't throw his leg like he used to.
I love alan Clyde's friday videos keep going with them

Are you’s gonna be doing any videos with Horner this year ? I see he has 4 supercubes now 👍🏻

had a shear grab for 17 years and she was welded numerous times to be fair to it though it spent 17 years cutting single chop silage from an NC harvester
Surprising to see Alan dealing with malfunctioning equipment 👀🙈🙈🙈😅😅 if there was no hardship, he wouldn’t enjoy it 💪🏻💪🏻

A Johnston shear grab is what we use its great grab like no doubt about it

Shear grab still cuts the silage well, so just get new tynes for the bottom.
You should tie a bit a rope on them corner tyres on the silo, make them easier got out next spring....

Pro dig
Prodig or maybe quicke are built like tanks and would last even a rash lad like yourself years and years 😉 we have a quicke ourselves and has almost all 3/4 inch thick steel on all the frame
If your shear grab is loosing tines that means you need to sharpen it
The pivot bushes in the new Holland's front axle maybe be worn and taking out the carrier bearing.
My shear grab is 30 years old
Not a shear grab but a silage grab somewhere between 25-30 years old
Slurrykat grab only job
Strimech attachments are built like tanks
Great video, gutted to hear about jonnie neal selling up
Why not grow 15 to 20 acres of winter barley to have the meal and the straw, rotate it on the fields every few years.
Could go on Done deal and buy a couple of grabs the same model and disconnect and close up the rams on 1 youd be alright in a emergency or for spare rams, sell the old 1 on there to help pay 😂

Alan JASUS SAKE where are the gloves they literally are as cheap as chips, Fiddling with the lamb and hand straight back into the ewe. 😠 ...
If ye watched Alan's video a few weeks ago he said he's bad sensation in his fingers and can't lamb as good when wearing gloves
